Pan Deck Buildings are at their weakest where either decks or ramps meet at different elevations at the columns compared to typical main floors! Rebar laps should be at 27 times the diameter of the bar its tying too! Any columns should only be 1% X the its length out of plum from the bottom to the top! A column thats is offsetted from the columns above and below it deck! Can only happen if its rebar is cut and spliced in the deck pour! Because on the first floors are usually cut up decks until you get on typical floors! Being the same elevations! Only having openings for stairwells & elevator shafts! So the cages for each column are usually cages for a at least 2 floors and sometimes 3 floors until you hit typical floors! Then just single cages! And are at their thickest, stairwell & elevator walls and get thinner as the building goes up for weight and the lack of need to support weight like the first 1-4 floors! Thats why its critical for a Good Layout Engineer to control deck elevation and the same offest to grid! Especially in the first floors where column cages being projected through more the one floor at time! Don't need rebar busters or carpenters to be using come alongs! so they can place their cans around the rebar! Pan Decks are old technology that is still used today! But only because its cheaper than Perri Form decks and tension cables! Which is better and faster! Than using pan decks! I saw the earlier pictures of the parking area below the pool! Where obviously the pool was leaking into the columns and support walls! Water, Chlorine & Salt isn't a rebar thats incased in concrete friend! Thats why they use green coated rebar in bridge decks! In case of water penetration! To stop rebar from rusting and expanding causing concrete to crack & flake which just goes into a big spiral until complete failure! The building was poorly built and the inspectation during the placement of rebar and concrete was either not done? Or the inspector was blind in one eye and couldn't see out the other! Even with that said! The so-called professionals running the deck should have done a better job at watching their people! Any person who builds Highrise buildings knows whats correct and not correct and where you can cut a corner where you can't! The First 4 decks with a pool above the below deck parking isn't one of them! My last Building 1400 McKinney, One Park Plaza, Houston D E Harvey. A 40 story Building with Brick Lentals, 8th Floor Parking Garage with a Million Dollar Pool on top! Perri Form! Talk about a layout challenge! But D E Harvey was a Professional Company to work for! It doesn't help the Loved Ones Killed in the Collapse! But your building a deck of cards! Maybe in this case they did! SAD

There was never any “battle”; that is hyperbole. Enough has been revealed about the design and construction of the submersible in question to show that it was doomed, period, no matter what the crew or anyone on the surface did. Just considering the characteristics of the carbon fiber comprising the body of the vessel is sufficient. Carbon fiber works well in tension, not well in compression. Weakness would develop with repeated submergence, and when failure occurs, it is sudden and catastrophic. QED.

Couple things I wanted to mention. Firstly, I delayed clicking on your kitchen project, as my interest was what are the events going on with the Key Bridge collapse. Glad I did see the project video, as that had to be a source of great personal pride! Nothing I can add, as your video speaks for itself! My second point was related to multiple inquiries as to the time schedule to unload the Dali containers. Firstly, the Dali was on its way exiting Baltimore to parts unknown. I understand the next stop will be Newport News (?) Without knowing, I suspect the final destination was not Virginia(?) Regardless, is it possible to repair the bow there to complete its final destination? Apparently, there was not extreme bow damage that caused flooding for the relocation. Just a thought. Appreciate your posts!

These NTSB people look like a bunch of tourists, randomly taking photos without any apparent rhyme or reason. So many people to accomplish a task that one person could easily do in half the time. I've said from the beginning that this ship had problems long before it left the dock. I'll bet they were pushed out of the dock since they were loaded and the dock wanted them gone. Sort of like having car trouble in the Wendy's drive through, they want you gone and they don't really care what your problem is, they just want/need to open their lane for the next customer.

The real reason that last piece has not been pulled up yet (and will be pulled up under cover of darkness) is because it is largely dustified, melted by the dir energy weapons used to take the bridge down.

I think the white marks on the recovered aft dome are paint transfer from contact with the carbon fibre parts of the craft as it imploded.

The ship and its cargo are essentially held hostage until some of the fault, and repayment are determined. Remember the evergiven in the Suez canal, it was held in Egyptian water for many months afterwards until the owners paid a hefty ransom.

The bigger capacitor is what's called a dual capacitor. You can wire the compressor and condenser fan motor to it. Don't really need that smaller capacitor for the condenser fan motor.

I saw another video that showed where one of those outside walls around the pool area completely split and sunk down about 3 cm but the guy that inspected it blamed it on roots. No way it was roots. You could see where it actually sunk down. I think it was 3 wks before it fell or something like that.

I have watched all of your videos on this tragedy. I have never built an entire building but have done permitted work such as building a hillside deck. The city inspected at every stage before we could move forward. Why would no one inspect the pool deck for the slope the architect put in the designs? I realize that there are a number of factors that ultimately contributed to the demise of Champlain Towers South. It just seems that at least to some extent the constant standing water eventually dissolved the waterproof barrier. ( Forgive me if my terminology is off). It just seems that could have been caught easily during the building process which we now know would have saved 98 lives. I am sure there were other things that could have been caught but this one seems like it would have been very easy to spot during construction.

Hi Jeff, I have a slow leak at the P-Trap Arm interface with the fixed tube going into my wall. I confirmed its tightened, and I looked for cracks and cannot see one. Other that replacing the piece(s), any thoughts? I was thinking I could just replace a gasket, but not sure if they are available outside of the kit.

Jeff, gotta say thanks for this video. Your vid had two caps, start and run, and other videos only focus on the run cap. If your motors not starting, most lily the start cap, but some may have a single start run cap. This got me up and going in the heat and some more time on my ac unit without the added cost!!!! Thanks again!

Those white gantry cranes you referred to towards the end of this video are on rails and can be moved along that entire birth if everything is working. My assumption is that if they want they can move the cranes over to the Dalia and unload if they want. You can see the tracks in the overhead shots and the wheels at the bottom of the cranes. I use to live near a port as a kid and spent a great deal of time checking this out.
