9:54 Fun fact: As a support you can do everything right and achive nothing. Your vision is only useful as long as your teammates look at the map or listen to your pings. You can cc someone for ages and your teammate can follow up way too late. You can put everything on your teammate and they can still lose because they are bad. Thresh's lantern might be the best example, where they rather die than take the lantern lol. Supports have the highest potential to effect the game, but that potential depends on their team. Supports are the most under appreciated class. They never honored unless they are Leona or Nautilus. If you're a support main I wish you good promos and many honors to come.

I think the bigger problem in solo queue is that ppl aren't paying attention to all 9 other players. Controllers shouldn't be the only ones paying attention to everyone.

I'm a support main who plays with friends. So often I hear them complimenting each others kills, and I'm there thinking "you would have died without my heals though.." "They would have gotten away if it wasn't for my root.." "My silence stopped them from killing you.."

I feel really appreciated as a support ,There have been so many teamfights where I've perfectly shielded/ healed different allies while CC-ing enemies and end up thinking that was great but they probably barely noticed that LMAO

The only person that appreciates supports are the people directly benefiting from them. When I boost my Mid Kat and she goes 17-3 no one says good job Sona! But I always get a thumbs up from that kat who realizes if it wasn’t for me healing and boosting her speed to catch that Jungler or top out of position she wouldn’t have carried. Sona Main, under appreciated since 2012….

Controllers aren’t popular because you need to be a team player and the LoL community is selfish. Teammates can go 20/4 and lose because they cant play macro but then flame the rest of the team for being uncarryable.

"Sometimes, everyone your team has negative brain cells, and no matter how much you try to make it easier for them to win, they just not going to be able to do so." That's a fact. I remember one time when I was playing Thresh and I was roaming with my ADC and Jungle in hopes that we'll find the ADC since she just completely ripped through us on our last two teamfights. I managed to find her alone taking red so I hooked her, flashed W'd to my ADC and my Jungle was Zac so he can just jump but instead of targeting the enemy ADC that I cc chained, the two of them immediately when for the top laner that was a minion and the support as soon as they showed up and engaged on me. I was there after the three of us died asking myself "How the hell did we go from targeting an ADC that's just above 50% health and is a sitting duck to wanting to kill a champion that's worth less than a cannon minion and even failing to do that?"

You know. That's the one thing I love about supports. No, _you_ play by _my_ rules, you don't move, you don't act, while I make my ally unstoppable and they run all over you. There is no other thing in League that gives you as strong of a feeling of power as that.

The saddest thing is that every support now has the excuse "I can't trust my Adc" So the more games I play the more I'm seeing lethality pantheon "support" or Brand and Zyra. No one wants to actually help their team anymore. I dont see it as a problem bringing supports to solo lanes.

Thresh and janna are revered for their high impact and high skill expression for supports, and then there's that parasite on the right that can average 64 apm and still do as much effect.

I have to say though: The flame I've gotten has drastically reduced. I don't know if this is because of how I play but even in all chat I rarely see the enemy team flame their support. 99% of the time it's jungle that get's flamed. The other 1% is if a top laner runs it down and the other one is 1v5ing every time.

This is the most appreciation I will ever get as a support so I will take it and say that I love you for doing this 💞

I love these champions even though I have good mechanics. I feel like I have a masterful chess battle going on in my head and a lot of power to subtly move people where I want them with my vision and presense. Also blinding the enemy feels sadistically good.

I find it interesting that you would call ivern a catcher, as his shield and damage when combined with moonstone, or using ardent or sofw can turn him into a powerful enchanter on his own. I think of him more as a mix between. I am an ivern main, and I find him as a very interesting case, as he is the only real support jungler, sometimes in soloq my laners have no clue how to play around me and my abilities, but when they do, oh boy it goes well.

janna nado makes me feel pain, any time i try to make plays only to get knocked up like that and see them walk away is just sad

Vars is one of the most entertaining, consistent, and quality League channels on RU-vid. Between Necrit for lore, HappyChimeNoises for off-meta play, Rav for comedy, and Vars for gameplay and content evaluation, we're lucky as fans and players of this game to have such good content.

I have said this before in a pool where it was asked what the easiest role and most people picked support but for what it is worth support is hard. Like really hard. Most people just assume it is easy as they can pick a champ and then lean back for a decade and a half and have good stats as they never fought or applied pressure anywhere for their team. But hey stats say he played well so easy clap role amirite? A good or bad support can easily break a game not to mention the botlane. This, for me personally, has come to a point where i usually play a supportive role even in midlane and have really good success. As said in the Video there are so many carry threats that are being picked on every lane that an additional controller in Midlane can be a godsend for everyone in the team. As awkward as an Rakan mid or even an more supportive tank ChoGath in midlane may seem it works wonders with the carries in just about every other role.

As a gm enchanter player, I will just say that a controller diff means literally nothing compared to jungle diff. Jungle is just way too impactful

Some tanks have token utility, like Nunu's and Leo's passive.

When you're a support and grant your team a backbone in teamfights, but they get too cocky and go into a fight without you and you watch them die one after the other.. The "defend inner turret" pings they send from their graves..

I think the reason controllers are underappreciated is because it's hard to see situations where yours or the enemy is genuinely that much better than the other

I FINALLY FEEL APPRECIATED ❤️ I love helping my team and that's why I main support, but most of the time my teams don't really appreciate what I do. I got used it to it but it's always nice to hear something good about my role, thanks for the video!

when you said support champions dont shoot anything they see i immediatly thought of my ad janna top build

the issue with a controller top is that they are usually ranged and have cc so they are super safe, and then while they harass you down all the time, it doesn't matter what you do to them because come mid game they will just do things that don't rely on having gold. so it's more just like a ranged top laner that you can't ever beat but one that beats you super slowly.

Personally my off meta picks are Thresh Top, Bard Jungle and Jax Support, I love them. Couldn’t wait for you to make controllers. They were last but it was worth the wait.

I hate the "enchanter get carry" shit. I dare any player to actually land a good Janna tornado or ult, or try to survive as Soraka or Sona. Even try to land a Morgana bind and time the blackshield. While yeah there are some that are easier to play like Yuumi or Lulu, they still have their skill ceiling. Yuumi has to survive the early mana drought and Lulu has to know when to use their abilities perfectly. And as a support player is way easier to play Leona or Nautilus than any of the enchanters.

Dia 2 supp player here, it's kinda dumb I have to baby sit everyone right now. Since every champion has high uptime plus high burst, as a Alistar main I can only push one and one knock up. With all the godm dashes right now I have too little tools to godamn deny a riven, dian, sylas, samira and sett.

I think I lost a significant amount of games where the enemy had 3-4 controllers and 1 hypercarry

Does Ornn count as a hypercarry? As a vanguard, he has a unique debuff which enhances hard cc and gives free stats in the late game

As a support player who has stuck to mostly catchers, with some enchanters, my biggest complaint is that people will call the roll brain dead and easy, then also complain about how much the impact the game.

As someone who is a support main and pro play enthusiast, this is true! Losing your support early or to a pick essentially takes you out of a fight. No competent players will take a mid-late game fight without their support, especially in elos that rely on coordination like pro play.

As a former enchanter main (mostly Nami, Sona, Karma) I HATE when people think enchanters are boring and braindead. People always think "fun" comes from being the carry but it's just as fun to set up your own team for success. I one time played Gragas support the first time I played it and I had a Jinx who was super good and I LOVED protecting her and setting her up for success.

How come both Thresh and Blitzcrank are in the catcher class, but not Nautilus at 1:50 ?

i'm a support main, and i recently picked up senna because she's one of the only controllers with carry potential.

As a Controller main myself (I'm Seraphine bot main), I'll need to point a thought very important to your video. Now a days in League of Legends, the support role isn't full only of controllers (think in Senna, Pyke, Lux full AP, Xerath, Vel'koz, Swain and the vanguards, who are tanks, not controllers). There is so much damage, even in the support role, so is completely viable and efficient to just pick up a controller in another role. Seraphine bot or mid, Karma top or mid, Lulu top or mid, Soraka laner, Ivern jg or solo laner. This is more common in the higher elos, but is a way to play controllers and fill up your teams needs, without giving up a carry oriented champion in the support role (the best example is Senna, yes she have heals and shields, utility and CC, but she is a marksman who doesn't want to farm in the end of the day, having a controller in your team to peel to Senna is just so good to not consider this option).

Support: *Roaming and literally carrying on midlane + feeding your jungle.* Adc: whAt ArE yoU doIng in mIdlaNe yOu'rE supPoSed tO bE hErE wIth mE uNdERtoWeR WhIlE i FEed thE enEmY jUngLe!!

I was realy happy when i saw that you are doing videos about the championsclasses withe the actual names LoL wiki calls them. I never understood why nobody uses this classnames. I personaly hate the term Bruiser because tells you nothing about that what the class is doing and is also missleading. The first time i saw good videos about Championclasses it was from Randomium and i loved it because its such an basic information that helps you alot to understand how the game actualy works and how to declare and archive the goales you want to reach in LoL game. I hope you find the time to make more content because you are delivering a great quality of information.

As a Pyke player, I can't relate to any of you guys. I always get honored and you always perform, no matter the game state. I don't know what riot was smoking when making an Assassin Catcher support that can oneshot u at 25min, but I want some of that too.

I can safely say that amongst everyone other than support mains people think supports are useless. But you talk to anyone who's played a decent amount of support and they will agree that the role carries more than any other role. It might be an ego thing but I always hear "top lane has no impact", "ADC in current year lol", "mid / jungle doesn't matter when my team is useless" but I never see support mains flame their role unless they main something like Soraka or Yuumi who actually do fuck all without a team go backup.

Supports, just like all classes, have a skill ceiling that they dont necessarily have to reach. Just pressing W, E and R on Kogmaw as Lulu does not take skill, but as you said, looking out for both teammates and enemies does.
