Controversial 2023 Pennsylvania State Finals. WROs You Make the Call. Ref calls stalling for repeatedly causing a stalemate on bottom wrestler. Do you agree with this call?
As an official with over 20 yrs at the varsity level I always ask myself "who just created the stalemate or the stalling?" I will not say if this was the correct or incorrect call. Just go back and watch both stand ups again. Then ask yourself the above question
Also, ask yourself what was each guy doing to score. Was the bottom guy really trying to get away by standing? Was the top guy really trying to stay in control? I believe the first answer is no and the second is yes.
I was there and as a wrestler myself bad call you let those boys wrestle it out the boy from chartier valley wasn’t even happy with the win I saw his reaction after the match bad call boy
Yeah, I don’t like the stall call on bottom. If I was officiating that match, I would’ve clearly communicated both wrestlers that I’m gonna let them wrestle it out. I thought Top was stalling more than bottom. I hate to see a championship match, be given away due to stalling
Pause the video at 1:13. The bottom wrestler already has both knees off the mat as part of his stand-up before the top wrestler ever has a leg in. He did not stand-up while being leg rode. He stood up... and then the leg came in. What is the bottom guys supposed to do? Not try to use a quadpod stand-up, which is one of the most common forms of escape?
@@mr.skeptical3071you’re kidding right ? He worked up immediately and was to his fee. Potensh call fine but that was a joke. There was no call to make for stallling so split second is irrelevant!
Bad call I was there and watched the match let them boys wrestle Taylor wasn’t stalling he has two options reversal or escape he stood 4 times and had legs thrown in let them wrestle it out very bad call
