Great technology great questions great interview. The technology will be used to enslave us , we will trade our privacy for security, you will be naive to not think so🙏😁🍻 cheers 👌
It’s INVASION of PRIVACY and court systems are CORRUPT!! I understand he’a using “EXCUSE” for safety, security and to use for criminals, but we DO NOT want this country to turn into China! SPYING on humanity with cameras everywhere is very uncomfortable because it can be used to HARM humanity! There are other ways to get criminals as they always have. Innocent people shouldn’t have to be stripped away from their privacy!! This is EVIL technology along with all of what Bill Gates is involved with, etc!🤬😤
Great intervie PBD. I would trust private companies more than government agencies. I'm in Canada and Trudeau already showed us what the government can do...very scary!
It’s not the AI Tech that’s controversial, it’s the ethics of data collection. Scrapping data for whatever purpose is a grey area. No wonder Google was peed off.
I am VERY skeptical.. like you said Patrick, he seems like a “good guy” but what about the person who comes AFTER him?? Is his/ her intentions going to be good as well???
Nothing but control. All control. Control. Control. Regardless of ones waist being thicker that's ones shoulders....CONTROL! Humanity will destroy themselves. Study history and you will learn and see. Unfortunately.

Steve Jobs had the best of intentions yet was fired from Apple. The valuation of Clearview would Skyrocket if available to publicly traded companies and only Hoan stands in the way.

facial recognition will be handy to catch thieves or store thieves with balaclavas on. Im assuming criminals as they do will find a way round it. Like usual.
@ around 40 minutes the discussion turns to countries charging fines or banning Clearview AI and speaking to Eu and Australia specifically - @ 41:33 Pat nails it - The EU is entrenched in nationalism and state wide geo fencing - Such as EU banning Monsanto Genetically Modified food crops - back in the day - Of course this was to protect Bayer which owns Scott (Think Scott Turf Builder ) -- of course this is moot now that Bayer has purchased Monsanto -- I believe the point is the EU is absolutely terrified that another situation like The Manhattan Project would be pulled off by another actor in another theatre using technology rendered in the individual states of the EU - PBD your questions are pure - yet in my opinion missing the point - the back story each of the states being aggressively antagonistic toward Clearview AI - are also aggressively antagonistic toward Apple tree grafts, strawberry seed, potatoes as they are against AI Software
I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet. That mindset helped me make more money investing. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks (with the help of my Financial Advisor of course) and made about 246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded with her again and now I'm rounding up close to a million.

I guess as long it's indexing public data in a more pragmatic use cases. It's acceptable but the question is what will happen when law enforcement start to feed the algorithm, private survalince data?.
Imagine if this brilliant guy used his abilities to fight for our freedoms vs surveillance. Now, he may be doing the latter in a way that he feels protects us…and this may be true, but you won’t convince me someone won’t or isn’t taking advantage of this technology
This guy is super smart and has accomplished a lot, he needs to aim some of that drive inward and get rid of that gut it doesn't suit someone in his position!
One thing we should take into consideration is that the images that are being displayed, they have already been uploaded by the owner. So it is like a super powerful search with photos that already exist on the internet.
nope... completely wrong. you can have zero social media and be snapped in the background of someone else's photo that they uploaded... and they can trace/track you.
"I have no ill intentions". Riiight. As if that's enough to put people at ease 😅 Also: government oversight? I don't trust my government AT ALL. He's still a kid (which doesn't mean he's not intelligent). He lacks life experience. This guy has never been beaten up by "law enforcement" for peacefully protesting. He's way too naive.
I like the motive for this company, but there are so many issues to unpack. The company already has 10 billion images, but the way they are going about getting images is unacceptable. I like how the EU seems to protect their citizens.
The only reason why people wouldn't like this is because it would make alot of people accountable. A married guy commits a crime and the picture law enforcement gets him on is him in the background out to dinner with his girlfriend. BOOM accountability, it scares people.
@@kuwaitgcc8400 I mean this respectfully so please don't take it any other way. What you state is nothing new, the Bible says that the heart of man is full of injurious things. So to think that nothing nefarious wouldn't take place is a little naive, you can absolutely bet that those things will take place because it's already happening now just with alot more foot work. It looks like people are going to have to tighten up their day to day lives and activities and have firm alibis. What we can both agree on is that technology has completely altered our lives and the way we go about them. We gave up privacy a long time ago willingly, it's a little late in the game to fight for it now.
This is exactly what I was thinking watching this video. He is really fooling folks by pulling at their heartstrings. He's no fool and know exactly what he's doing.
They are trying to set up an authoritarian digital dystopian world. Digital identity , facial recognition cameras , AI , algorithms etc. Covid is the smokescreen to bring it in. Notice how he keeps saying it can be used in helping solve crimes related to children. They are desperate to get us enslaved, they'll do anything to get to bring this technology in.

He claims the software helps law enforcement. But only brings up Child Trafficking/Pornography. He is beating that drum a little too hard. He is 100% trying to hide/ cover something up.
I'm curious to know how this guy managed to get his hands on such a huge database of faces in order to train his face recognition algorithms to such a high level of accuracy?

interesting take could be a fall guy for the government "government can just say - we didn't create this tech, we just use it, the private sector came up with this shit" (when in reality they are basically funding it - by buying the products)
I dont trust this guy.. He keeps bringing up the absolute worst case scenario (kids) and bases entire argument on this. "If ONE kid is saved it will be worth losing ALL of our rights over" This seems to be his attitude and decides to sideline all arguments. All the rest is fluff.

I would say that someone who can also code could create a great business model where they can search a database of all images across the web & then enable you to delete them.
1) implement a "Certified" "fool-proof" AI system that accuses people of crimes - receive public acceptance 2) then use AI to plant child-corn on your computer and then frame you for having the wrong opinion 3) have the first AI "investigate" you for the stuff planted by the second AI
I can't say I support or like the intrusion into our lives, but at the end of the day if it stayed with what we ourselves have shared in profiles, questionnaires, or even personality quizzes, I would accept it. But that never is the case. The issues which trouble me are that these concessions allowing intrusion into our personal lives are always taken in increments. They always have a reason that sounds justifiable and would make you feel like a horrid person, or someone who has something to hide if you didn't support it. This is how they get their first foot in the door which makes it easier for them to go beyond. My second issue is that the perpetrators at the top who finance and profit from things like human trafficking or narcotic distribution will not be in the database and will never be profiled. As usual, this only targets the lower level criminals allowing the responsible three letter agencies, those with good connections, or that have clout, or can pull the right string, will remain untouchable and able to continue with their organized criminal activities and crimes against humanity. At the end of the day this will do nothing to stop any of the major crime rings or end the evil behind them. But this does take them a step closer and is another part of the agenda to completely subjugate and control the population.

Why the Government don’t want to share information on the Balloons "food for thoughts" there are technologies that can be used to detect oil and gas pockets from a flying craft, such as a weather balloon or an aircraft. One of the most commonly used methods is seismic surveying, which involves creating artificial shockwaves in the Earth's subsurface and measuring the reflected waves to create images of the subsurface structure. This can help geologists determine the presence and location of oil and gas deposits. Another method is the use of remote sensing technologies, such as aerial infrared imaging and spectroscopy, which can detect the characteristic spectral signatures of hydrocarbons. These technologies can be used from a flying craft to quickly survey large areas of land and provide geologists with information on the presence and distribution of oil and gas deposits. It's also worth noting that there are also advanced subsurface imaging techniques, such as 3D seismic imaging and magnetotelluric imaging, that can provide more detailed information on subsurface structures and help identify the presence of oil and gas deposits. These techniques are often used in conjunction with more traditional exploration methods, such as drilling and well logging, to more accurately determine the location and size of oil and gas reserves. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the Arctic is estimated to contain about 13% of the world's undiscovered oil reserves and about 30% of the world's undiscovered natural gas reserves. These estimates are based on the presence of oil and gas in similar geological formations in other parts of the world and do not take into account the technical and economic challenges associated with drilling in the Arctic. There are several companies that are exploring the possibility of drilling for oil and natural gas in the Arctic, including major international oil companies such as Shell, ExxonMobil, and ConocoPhillips, as well as state-owned oil companies in Russia and Norway. However, drilling in the Arctic is a complex and challenging process, due to the harsh climate, remote location, and limited infrastructure, and it can also have significant environmental and social impacts. As a result, drilling in the Arctic has become a highly controversial issue, with some groups advocating for increased development of the region's energy resources and others calling for a ban on Arctic drilling to protect the region's unique and fragile ecosystem. The future of Arctic oil and gas development will likely depend on a number of factors, including technological advancements, changes in global energy markets, and evolving public attitudes towards oil and gas production in the Arctic. Russia's state-owned oil companies, such as Rosneft and Gazprom Neft, do have partnerships with Chinese companies. China is one of the largest importers of Russian oil and natural gas, and Russian state-owned oil companies have formed partnerships with Chinese companies to increase their access to the Chinese market. For example, Rosneft has signed several agreements with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) to supply oil and natural gas to China, and the two companies have also established joint ventures for the exploration and production of oil and natural gas in Russia and elsewhere. Similarly, Gazprom Neft has signed agreements with China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) to supply oil and natural gas to China, and the two companies have also explored the possibility of jointly developing oil and natural gas projects in the Arctic. The country that builds the most icebreaking ships for use in the Arctic is Russia. Russia has a long history of shipbuilding for use in its northern regions, and it has a large fleet of icebreaking ships that are used for a variety of purposes, including oil and gas exploration, cargo transportation, scientific research, and tourism. Russia's icebreaking fleet is managed by the country's state-owned shipping company, Rosatomflot, which operates several nuclear-powered icebreakers as well as conventional icebreaking vessels. The country is also in the process of building new icebreaking ships, including several that are designed specifically for use in the Arctic. China does not currently use Russian-built icebreaking ships in the Arctic. While China has increased its presence in the Arctic in recent years, it has primarily focused on developing its own icebreaking capability, rather than relying on ships built by other countries. China currently operates a small fleet of icebreaking ships, including one domestically built icebreaker and several ice-strengthened research vessels. The country is also in the process of building its first domestically built nuclear-powered icebreaker, which is expected to be commissioned in the near future. In addition to building its own icebreaking capability, China has also been investing in the development of new technologies and infrastructure for use in the Arctic, including ice-resistant shipping lanes, ports, and other infrastructure. These investments are part of China's broader strategy to increase its presence in the Arctic and to secure access to the region's natural resources, shipping routes, and other strategic assets. Knowledge is Power.
