Never seen someone play so perfectly with poor results unless it’s like tournament, he actually won in which a guy flopped a set of aces, and he went runner runner for quads. But apparently he runs bad
Thank you so much for bringing us on your journey. I break my back 60 hours a week for my family because I didn’t have the balls you had to take a chance in life. You got this man. This is your game, your table, and your series. It’s not how hard you can get punched. Lfg.
@@verystablegenius4720 There is some skill in poker, but very little, which is why you get no consistent winners of tournaments. A good grasp of probability gives you a marginal edge over those who lack this. What seems to happen over a long period of time with a sample of 10,000 players 10-20 are going to get luckier more often, thus we get folks like Daniel who make more dollars and can pretend to themselves and others there is more skill involved than is the reality.
I love the raw emotion of the highs and lows. It reminds the little guys that EVERYONE goes through it. You play good, but you run bad. It's why you don't always look at everything as results oriented. I always appreciate your Vlogs DNegs!
Keep grinding, those cards will heat up for you eventually. Really enjoying the content you put out. It’s fun and consistent with great insight. I played the baby WSOP $250 deep stack over at the Horseshoe today. I understood, albeit very mildly, the annoyance of terrible hand after terrible hand being dealt. The amount of cold cards was wild. Best of luck to you. Stay strong. You got this!
I know it sucks and we all feel it. I will say to see one of the players you look up to going through bad variance and be frustrated by it just makes you more relatable. I'm going through it right now too and completely empathize. Hopefully the rest of the series turns out better.
I don't feel it. Players get old and soft, the base of players particularly in a 100k are mind numbing great. At the end it's always bad floor, bad dealers, bad luck, players don't know what they are doing etc...But on the plus side the great players move on to other parts of the world to play Triton or whatever and pokergo will run 80 player local sit n go's and the player base generally has trouble competing with 4 buy in rich people.
Hi Daniel, I've been a fan of yours for a long time. I appreciate how you post your WSOP vlog for all to see and watch your skills. Hoping some luck kicks in so you can win a bracelet.
After burning through 100k and being tilted after the first bullet exit...is it seriously wise to immediately rebuy? Could tell the entire second bullet Daniel was tilted and not 100% dialed into his game. Inevitable result.
He should really stay out of the super high rollers. He doesn't play them enough to have any chance. The $100k is a Triton event but with way less VIP players
Its not the same for him. He has backers that want and need him to fire as much as possible. Maybe should have taken a 30 minute cool down but other than that not much to think about. He won the 250k super high roller a few years ago. And plenty huge buy in games. Pretty sure he knows how to play high rollers.
@@wesleyb1458 I would highly disagree with that. I don't think he ever won the EPT ones that he used to play a lot back in the day. He doesn't play Triton, and I don't think he ever cashed the super high roller bowl
Thank you for sharing this even when things are tough for you. That must be difficult but it is so appreciated. You're going to win some big tournament soon.
Hi Daniel. I'm watching your vlog from Kyiv, in between periods of blackout because the country is struggling to meet it's power demands. If you can keep a positive energy after losing 200K in a "brutal" day of poker, I can get by and maintain a positive outlook as well. Eye of the Tiger! Go get'em next time...
I’d love to see more rewind breakdowns from the opponents perspective. It really gives an insight into a) why you made the call you did and b) why it’s a losing play in the long run which justifies your confusion. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense to be tilted at an opponents play, but sometimes it does 😅
Very smart to self assess, regroup, get some rest, and come back next day re-energrized ! Thank you for doing these vlogs every day. Good luck in the next one ! Many are pulling for you !
I’m studying for the Tournament Director’s certification exam right now. As for the controversial ruling, you will want to reference Rule 15-B of the TDA Rulebook. “If a player bets then discards thinking he or she has won (forgetting another player is still in the hand), the dealer should hold the cards and call the floor. If cards are mucked and not retrievable and identifiable to 100% certainty, the player is out and not entitled to a refund of called bets. If cards are mucked and the player initiated a bet or raise not yet called, the uncalled amount will be returned. It was the correct call…
@dnegspoker is that a new rule?? I've allways been under the impression that if a hand is mucked, it's dead and the ALL the chips bet are awarded to the live hand
What constitutes a "called bet"? This seems ripe for angle shooting. I see opponent grabbing chips to put out a 4 bet and muck before its done.... bet wasn't called, right? You can't say I knew he was still in and intended to do it either, how do you prove intent?
So the cards get returned to the folding player and the hand continues? Otherwise it seems the attentive player gets penalised. I agree the rule is soft but i don't hate it. Most likely they decided from a business perspective that it's a net positive in regards to player 'contentment'.
Daniels sizing is pretty bad. He can’t really value bet anything but an 8 or a K because his opponent can still have 9s-Qs. If he’s only value betting those hands, he has to go bigger
The recap on Ikes hand he made the 19k on the turn. Might change things? 20% flop 1/2 pot on turn with the spade draws etc. He's holding 2 clubs more likely u could have spades. So giving u 3 to 1 with that bet, if your on spade draw. Felt like he was targeting your equity.. but I don't know. Thanks for the content. Love it as always. Love the breakdowns.
yeah, ike's bet is a bluff. a king and a six are the only hands that can call while a made full house raises. he can bluff almost any river in position and almost every river checks to him because he overbet the turn. the ace of spades is a funky card that gives daniel a lot of value opportunities but gives ike enough showdown value instead of continuing with his bluff. if the river is any other card, does daniel bet? and does he check/call a river bet from ike? i think the answer in both cases is no, and ike gets a lot of value from the turn bet in the process.
I genuinely appreciate all these hand breakdowns, what goes through your thought process during these interesting spots. It's helping me understand putting opponents on certain ranges and what is the right line to take 😊 Edit: Don't lose your spirit man, sorry the $100K NL was rough on you, those damn Aces! 😅
So frustrating another wsop is not treating you well. It’s awesome to watch you play, and the decisions you make. It’s fascinating for us amateurs, grateful to you for sharing. Really hope your luck turns NOW!
Hey Daniel, I got re-introduced to poker the last couple of months (mostly through compilations of your hands). Thank you for all the vlogs and tutorials that have really helped me. Started playing online poker last month and cashed in 8 tournaments so far. Just sad that we don’t have live tournaments here in India.

Whilst I am a huge fan of Daniel and his achievements I do tend to agree. To suggest Ike Haxton doesn’t know exactly what he’s doing and what he wants to achieve with that bet is just pure hubris. Ike has been crushing at the very highest stakes for as long as I can remember, he certainly one of the all time greats.
Ren Lin is such a beautiful person, had the honor to play with him on my left for a few hours in a PLO event at WSOPE in Rozvadov. Much love to both of you!
Daniel , everyday I watch your vlog , I’m pulling for you to have a great victory. You are a great player and I hope you get a big win in this tournament
that was brutal G, but you know who you are, and they all know, next time don't be friendly, show them what Negreanu means, let the beast inside you rise againe
I felt this episode. I had the same experience last time I played a rebuy. I will put positivity in the atmosphere for you my friend. Next tournament will be slain by you!!
Daniel, thank you for sharing, your vlogs are the highlight of my day! The hand breakdowns are awesome and your GG Poker live tournament streams have dramatically improved my game. 🍀🧡🍀❤🍀💜
Daniel Ive been following your WSOP VLOGS probably the last 5 years, I dont remember you have a winning series. So 'm going to give you the same advice I got when I was playing golf...bad golf. My buddy told me to take two weeks off from golf.....then quit the game...Saved me a ton of frustration....LOL
DNEGS has like 2 or 3 years out of the last decade with losses at the wsop. Not only are you wrong but he's actually been killing it at wsop with the exception of a couple bad years. A year or 2 ago he won the super high roller for 3 million. I'm pretty sure you are wrong. He's already had huge deep runs in multiple events this year when tons if people barely have min cashes so far.
He’s had 5+ six figure scores through the WPT just this year so keep in mind he’s not only playing tournaments at the WSOP. He’s still up this year a significant amount.
@@hungrymikepencetd5686 nice rebuttal! My favorite part was when you didn't refute anything or his winnings of the last decade. 😆 I might be a comedian but at least I have words to back up thoughts....
@@patrickharmon8365 Haha. The guy is down 370.000 $ (!!!) up to this point in the WSOP. What else do you want? 10 years without a bracelet, 7 bracelets only (PH: 17, PI: 11), etc.
Daniel is one of the coolest poker players out there. Much respect to him and his skills. I love seeing him play, I've learned a lot over the years watching Daniel play.
Hang in there Daniel you'll get through this. Every day is a new day. You handled it well so take a deep breath and appreciate what you do have instead of focusing on what you could have had. GG
Totally understand the frustration, currently on a dry run at my local game that has lasted more than a year of not making a final table. Someone always seems to have AK or AA at the crucial spot. Stay strong Daniel. ⚔️
I'm always one of those critical chat pros but today I am just sad I'm sorry it was rough day for you Daniel. You are always so resilient I know you will come back strong and the the highs will come the lows never last too long.
He is setting such a good example here.most players tilt and stack off a bunch after that day but he shows why he is the greatest by showing restraint.
Hi Dan great to see you back doing the vlog, been catching up as I’ve been on hols, it’s a tough one to see sometimes as I think everyone watching this knows when and when not to approach you in a WSOP setting as a fan, but I think a lot of non followers don’t. So I’m sort of torn between thinking “leave the guy alone he’s just been coolered” and “your arguably THE global ambassador for the game and people love you”… it’s a hard one
In the old days you would have jumped into anything playing or a high limit cash game and kept grinding. However, back to the mansion for video games is probably a better life all around.
This may sound silly but the key to winning is when to know how to play good hands and when to know how to fold good hands during the duration of the tournament. The first hand break down you let him get there when you should of pushed him out by betting 20k , you paid more any way after the river.
Yea, he played it way too passively. IMO I like the strategy that if someone is going to contin bet super tiny on the flop then min click them or 2.5x their raise with majority of your hands - now you are playing their game but with little risk and you retake control of the hand
@@LMW87MMA lol it was a tiny ass flop bet, min click or 2.5x isn't gonna "bloat the pot", they were both very deep. Seems you know nothing about the concept of taking control of the hand. A K66 flop also favors Daniel's range, so a check raise on the flop or turn would have been fine. Why do you think great players like Ike will make tiny contin bets? Because they know current strategy most players play in flow and too passively and let's them realize their equity for very cheap - and it worked.
The poker gods are not smiling on you DNegs. It’s good for us viewers and amateur players to see how hard it can be for pros. Mostly we see clips of players winning hands and not the grind they have to go through. Good luck for the rest of the week hope things turn in your favour. I’m taking a week break because of a down swing.
So interesting to listen to the mind of Pro players,..you really have to be ok with losing and lousy luck to make it to the great profitable days…He is so mentally tough 😮. Thanks Daniel for this insightful video series…. I know now I’ll always be a spectator, and I’m ok with that..
Ok Dnegs, it may be time for a drinking night. Have a few drinks, play in a tourney and reset! Need to switch up the mojo. Kinda like Tin Cup… put the change in your left pocket, and turn your hat around. 😂 Good luck man! Love the vlogs!
If you check/call to the river passively and lose to a river card on showdown, can you not play more aggressively to not let this happen? Not everytime but in some situations?
100% agree get rid of the coddling!!?? I’m 25 and I still know that missteps like this are on you. Just like it’s your job to make sure you are getting payed correctly. If the dealer makes a counting error on an all in “double up” type situation why is it not on you to know your stack depth or the previous action
i just can't think of many other things that are better than getting on that golf cart, strolling around with the wife, eating some sushi or whatever in that cart village of yalls and forgetting about yesterday and knowing things are good and great things are still ahead.
Floor ruling is correct the 8K chips is classified as uncalled chips and is returned to the player. In saying that, the player is also subject to penalty for acting out of turn and if the player has deliberately folded to get some of his chips back he should be penalized for acting out of turn (chips would still be returned though).
I usually agree with you 100%, but I am a little confused by the first hand breakdown on two points you made. 1) I agree that the $19k bet was awkward to decipher and navigate, but Ike probably bet his ace on the turn only because the board's paired with 6s and the 5 created the back door flush draw--and that could be considered an aggressive but ok play overall because his ace could still the best hand at that point, and he can effectively narrow your range with a call and/or he could just fold your check-raise. 2) With your pair of kings and the likely best hand at the turn (and a ton of ways to lose on the river), why not deny equity and force him to fold a likely ace or flush draw unless you were planning on bluffing the river if a spade showed up? I just don't get why raising would be "stupid" if you not only have top pair but it's the king of spades...
I opened my stud hand with straight flush on the river after calling an all in, and forgot there was 1 more player to play, I lost it all, even though I was beating his four Qs, he called the all in too, and I was scrubbed from the hand and lost it all.
Letting the raise stand actually could result more angling than not letting it stand. It would be really easy to chip dump that way, just go allin after your buddy limps or raises and then muck your hand after the blinds fold. Its also consistent with other rulings where a hand is mucked prematurely. I once had a spot where I went allin and the dealer immediately mucked my hand. I had to keep a enough for a call out there but got the rest of my stack back.
Exactly. Daniel is wrong and the floor was right. Same thing happened in my game recently, dealer mucked seat 1's card after 3 betting all in, but the cards were mucked before the other guy got a chance to call, so guy got some of his money back. Daniel never called this guy's bet, so why does he think he is entitled to the entire pot? Also, Daniel got to keep the Small and Big Blind I'm assuming, but he doesn't mention that.
running into bullets nonstop, fckin' brutal man, you still Kid Poker bro, it pours but the sun comes out the next day and it can't possibly be as bad as today lol ... THanks for these uploads, love'em
Daniel we feel your pain. I'm going through it too. Question: are there any oopsy's? Could you have done anything differently/better? Should you vpip less? Anything you can change going forward?
How does the ruling hurt the blinds? Also, if they were to give you the whole 13k that is assuming you would have called and not folded (how does floor know that). Player who made mistake still loses the 5k (it's not nothing).
Thinking of playing poker professionally? Watch Daniel's first vlog of this wsop and then watch this one. First one was like the anticipation for christmas and this one shows how frustrating poker can be. You do everything right and so many times it just comes down to being card dead.
I was surprised the floor made the correct TDA ruling on the 8k. It seems to me the only time they should get that 8k back is if their raise didnt meet a minimum raise. once you make a legal raise like that it should have been yours. But the rules actually dont support that which is odd
At time 8:35, maybe check raising could have been a better play..., cementing your stance of holding a king and he might fold then and if not, continuation bets on turn and river will mostly make him fold. Just a thought.
You've handled this much better than previous losses by just understanding that sometimes poker is like this and you can't get anything going. Not your fault this time, Daniel!
Dan, do you think the bad call on the 8k poisoned you today, or was it just every time you had good cards, someone else had better cards…you seamed like it annoyed you when it happened but got past it, soon after…thank you for the video..
Hang in there Big D. Like you said - cycles - and frankly your strategy WILL play out. Your level of gameplay will remain focused and superior versus last year when you were doing so so sooooooo many bullets - sometimes 3 events in a 24 hour period
