The Japanese trailer has a far, far worse ratio being closer to 90%. Yasuke has not been a part of Japanese culture. No Japanese documentary mentions him. No text books mention him. I haven't heard of Yasuke be mentioned in Japanese space because he is an obscure figure. And I been here in Japan since I was in elementary school. A few random mangas using him as a cool character is not indicative of thinking it's fine for this FOREIGNER to represent Japan.

Nah it's worse, they're not choosing outliers, they're actively creating it for the sake of dei, and thus destroying history, with our cultural and intellectual understanding of historical figures and places.

Ubisofts only fear is that people will call the samurai character a Jin Sakai copy no matter which Japanese figure they have chosen. That's why they chose Yasuke, because he is giving them a chance to tell a different story, without copying Ghost of Tsushima. Unfortunately people are already complaining that ac shadows is a copy of GoT (which is not, I tell you as a fan of both games)

Have you ever heard of: scorpion, subzero, Lu Kang, Raiden, Chun- Li, Ryu, shinobi, sagat, feng long, goku, gohan, Kazuya Mishima, jun Kazama, Jin Kazama, Lei Wulong, Hwoarang, Heihachi Mishima, and many more Asian characters not mentioned. It’s a video game for heavens sake

@@KR-oo2wx All martial arts protagonists. Different games and companies. Street fighter and Tekken have blk playable fighters. And a distraction of the real issue which is western asian man erasure. AC games had no east asian man protagonist playable. Meanwhile we have Aveline, Adewale and Bayek for the blk representation in AC.

1. anime that has blond or European characters are not suppose to be historical accurate their mostly just for fun like Oda nobuna they had no umaga as a Women actually they gender end all the historical characters 2 Anime and games that try to include history would mostly feature Japanese character like samurai x, it also apply to games if it's trying to be historicaly accurate. However this assassin creed is trying to be historical that's why they choose yauseke.

You see the hypocrisy too, don’t forget that many asians hate black people sadly, also the Japanese love to draw themselves as wide eyed europeans in manga and anime, id imagine they rather have the white british blonde anjin samurai than the tall dark black yasuke.

Says who, bro? Why should there be a focus on anything Japanese at all, accept for characters and NPC’s in the game. Resident evil, has been almost global at this point, and all of their MC’s are mostly white. They’ve been to South America, Africa, and still they use the same characters, which I can understand, but any supporting character may be native to that land, but won’t display authentic characteristics of that culture in particular. So in that Japanese era, there should be landmarks, structure, and scenery to represent that time period. The MC, and story are all that truly matter. It’s the story, and what it represents and the plot. Not the people in particular.

Honestly? I didn't care at all for that movie, didn't even watch it and I love Karate Kid as well as Cobra Kai. And Jackie is an absolute legend who just got pulled into a trash cash cow. How the hell do you call it karate kid and make it kung fu instead... Jackie Chan alongside a black actor is what you want? Rush Hour exists and is still enjoyable. Jackie is naturally good at making intense fight scenes look slapstick. Cast him with 100 black men and women I don't care, I'll still watch it if it's about what Jackie and the rest of the cast is good at.

The game have not come out yet, but their advisor was a specialist on man-boy relationships (so pedophilia) and other queer history in Japan.
