An amazing interview. You have a unique overview of the musical world, and especially the world of the violin. Capturing these comments is a gift and a service. Please continue to do similar interviews. Thanks so much for bringing this to us!

Fascinating! I love how much pride he has in his work and he won’t sell a bow just to anybody. Perhaps, you can hunt down the Kittle bow for a sound bite and review. Great series. Thank you!

How amazing would that be?? I can't even find who owns it, but Yung probably knows....

@@aTonalHits Vadim Repin owns one. His luthier in USSR told his mother one is for sale for a moment, she borrowed the money from all friends and relatives to buy it. Then she worked hard for four years to pay the debt (the bow was not so expensive in USSR because owners were not allowed to export cultural goods). Vadim still keep it and appreciate his mom’s effort.

Ah the amazing holy grail of bows, what a great story wondering if Kittle ever made a bass bow! I found the best thing to do if someone is going to buy a bow is to get a selection (often it will mean paying a small amount for insurance) and living with the bows for a week or two. More often then not you will find something that works for you. It usually (especially with young players) takes a bit of time. Thanks again I'm immensely enjoying this series!

Sorry, I commented on my cellphone which completely made a mess of my questions. I play/played another instrument when I was younger. Do bows eventually wear out? Does the wood fatigue or lose its spring? Thank you for this wonderful series.

So, the magic was not in Heifetz himself? It was in his bow!! I should go and steal it so I can finally play the "Tarantella" myself :-) Btw., is Mr. Yung drinking tea or coffee? He seems to be well equipped for both, but his coffee grinder is empty, Sometimes these machines are misused to grind herbs for colorants...

Haha! No, Yung is definitely into a well brewed cup of coffee. I'm pretty sure. It's the same grinder Illya uses!

@@aTonalHits Mine has to be turned by hand, so if civilisation crashes I can still have a very aromatic cup of coffee (as long as my stock lasts and I can get a fire on)... Maybe I'll trade it for an excellent bow then...

Ah if I lived in NYC, was a much better player- even then I doubt I could afford any bow in his shop.

I would say I am a confirmed "bow skeptic," nice video, though
