Interesting mind set. Born to survive. Hence we needed a mandatory military presence? Where would have the military gone had it not been asked or allowed to be present? Would it have gone back to protecting the countries borders and help with humanitarian needs in and around Pakistan? Who would build a ship and fit a gun that is big enough to sink it as soon as it sails? Its almost the same concept. Think of Deobands/Wahabis as Iconoclasts/Orthodox Christians and Barelvis as Catholics. And please, none of them are radical. Its the small minority of people and their heinous actions that are radical. Deoband Madrassas(Schools) were and still are funded by Saudi Arabia who practice the Salafi/Wahabi faction of Islam. Once again, its very complicated yet very simple. For you, it will be tough to understand. Pakhtoons, Afghans and Islam, the western profound concepts of Nationalism do not apply to them the same way. Only Pakistanis can understand and run Pakistan. The crux of the discussion. PS. We do NOT want to bomb India, we want you to be our peaceful neighbor, and as peaceful neighbor, we must resolve the Kashmir Issue according to the will of the Kashmiri people. If they side with India, so be it, its their right, but first let us get there. Otherwise, insurgency from both sides is gonna keep on continuing.

​@@coreycox2345feudal hereditary landlords own literally every usable inch while the population living on it are still playing the role of serfs under the same terms, bondage debt slavery is still widely practiced. The feudal landlords are inter related and connected with the military and political elites.. These feudal landlords were the original sponsors and funders of the infamous Afghani Mujahideen. Not to chase the russians out because of any sense of nationalism but because of the upcoming land retorms and redistribution. The Brits gave Pakistanis independence to the same ckub of Anglophiles and British educated local elites who were already part of the local members employed by or for the colonial administration office.

@@rajkrish9156 Fighting against proxies funded by Indians in the shape of TTP and BLA. More importantly, 1971 episode which Indian media and state reminds us every year on 16th of December.

Anything resembling “western modernity”, such as urbanisation and secularisation, will strain the social fabric and ecological/economic security of any country (Pakistan being no exception) just as it is doing so in the West. It’s a tricky problem.
