When I was about 26-27, all I wore was the white highs and black highs (just All Stars though, not Chucks, I didnt know they existed/the differences back then). I then got mad into sneakers and wore all sorts of different pairs for like 10 years. Now, I'm coming back round to Converse again! (Chuck 70s this time though). You just can't beat them. I've actually gone for the Plus model, love the white stitching on the back of the black highs.
I once bought some Converse leather sneakers, really beautiful but unusual (compared to the classic Converse model) black sneakers with red accents like the logo which also wasn't the classic logo and so they were very comfortable, I basically loved them and used to wear them a lot. So one day I went to the beach and hid them under some rocks so I could take a swim, some of my friends were near so I thought they'd be safe. After coming back from the super nice, super refreshing swim in the ocean I went to pick my shoes up but... They were gone, lol. :( I thought some of my friends liked them so much they had to borrow them for a while. No one else was there mind you and this was almost 15 some years ago. It's okay though I forgave whoever took them. The thing is though, I never wore Converse again after that and not because any particular reason, one or the other, just never got to wearing them again until now that is. Can't wait to wear them again lol, although ones I ordered are the 70's black and white.
Yes, I came here to looking for help with the right size and I have just purchased a pair of low tops. I normally were a size 10.5 in Nikes (Blazers for example). I also have wider feet. I ended up trying out a size 10 first, which fit, but was just a half size too big for me and just looked long. So I tried a 9.5 and the fit was good. Just a little bit on the narrow size, but I have wide feet. Overall the 9.5 is much better look and fit. On the comfort scale, compared to the All-Star, it is a notable improvement to where I can actually wear a pair of chucks and not regret it. The 70s are the way to go and the way chucks should be made period.
So when you say size down , a full size or half size ?? (I do wear the regular chucks past 5-6 years always only half size down ) if anyone can help much appreciated 😄
