You're not going to get any better gas mileage if you make it rear wheel drive. It's the components of the all-wheel drive and the weight of the components. The only way you're going to get better gas mileage is if you remove those components from the vehicle.
@@15DurangoRT Not completely, while you are correct the weight of AWD does effect the fuel economy negligibly a bigger impact from the fuel economy is noticeable switching from RWD to AWD. This is dude to more net power needed to be produced by the engine so it can provide all 4 wheels with exceptional tracking. I still wouldn't recommend taking out that fuse and leaving it out for a extended amount of time because AWD can save your live in certain situations.
Hey bud was wondering if you had any long term issues? Got a 2018 going back next month and a 2021 tow n go coming and definitely want to do this. Just don't wanna fry a brand new truck....thanks
A ghetto version would be easy. Locate the feed wire that provides power to fuse F77 and run a toggle switch into the passenger cab. Similarly done for car audio amps, gas kill, battery kill, Nitros on/off etc. A ghetto superstar version would be possible if u can't locate the feeder wire... Just push a wire into one female side of the fuse clamp. Jam it in there so it stays. Run it to a cheapo toggle switch in the cab and back out to the other fuse clamp.Three things u gotta do B4 u go smoke the hood all up. 1). Wire a cheap 10Amp inline fuse after the toggle switch. 2). Remove it before inspection and 3). Don't ever tell nobody I reccomended that buwlshyt. 😂
On asphalt it's easy but on concrete it's a different story. It just seems like they don't want to break loose on the concrete. I guess I'll have to get line lock for that issue. 😀
Great video, and thanks for the info on the fuse 👍🏽 Now is there a fuse number for just doing a burnout with just the front tires ?????? lol lol 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I got a 2014 RT I'm definitely doing this. Will it hurt anything? Can it be driven like that all the time? If so just wire a switch where the fuse would go and you can turn awd on of off with a flip of a switch. I have done this on the 2nd and 3rd gen explorer with the auto 4x4
Fuse 77. Got it Stef✊🏿✊🏿. I was wondering how an all wheel drive Durango could do a burn out like that. Thought it took some serious modding. Dope video man. Milo...peace
NGL _that sh¡t looks fun as hell_ Bro gotta Kool Aid smile from Ear to Ear. If u hate on that man's Raw happiness... Please stay far away from me wit your great depression 😂
@@Mo-ut6kq LOL I’m dead 3 years later and I still never found it out sold my Jeep, went through and Audi and now getting into a third car like bruh 😂😂😂 good luck
@@mirrorman1025 yes sir. You can force RWD. I haven't tried the method Steph is speaking of on the WK2 but it's way more cost effective if that's all you want to do. If you like all the other features the tazer offers, the force rwd is a nice bonus.
Great Tip Thanks! You said you have 22 Tires on your Durango, did you have any issues with the turning ratio. I was told I couldn't put wider tires, any advise. I want to go to wider just a bit.
I have a 5.7 crew Durango I’m tryna to find the fuse and I can’t find it is there anyways u can help I have a 2013 and my fuse box looks completely different
I imagine this isn't good for the AWD system if you run it for a prolonged period. Have you are any other Durango guys had issues with the transmission? I've got a 17 sxt and had the transmission control module go out according to the dealership. This was at 57k miles. Still under warranty so they replaced it and supposedly fixed it. Less than a year later it just went out again. Throwing a P0733 code and shifting hard or not shifting in/out of 3rd
hi i want to know the specification of your mag and brand too and the tire specs too because it look you put a offset mag or a spacer in the rear.. thank you
Hows it going boss Quick question? I have a 2013 Durango R/T and im looking for the fuse you just talked about but cant seem to find it.. is there a difference between our durangos or are they all the same.. is there a particular fuse name i should look for?
This probably only works on durangos with the 5.7L Hemi, because the other ones have full time AWD instead of auto awd like this one has. And it only works because you disconnected whatever causes it to send torque to the front wheels. But other AWD versions of the durango and grand Cherokee use a center differential that drives the front and rear axles normally instead of a clutch pack that primary drives the rear wheels and then can send power to the front.
Sorry man, I would highly suggest against doing this. Good way to destroy your differential, axles, transfer case, ect. Another guy on RU-vid did this and destroyed his rear diff. Ended up costing him almost 4g's in parts and labor.
Andrew Steyer I have a 12 gc 5.7. There isn’t the same fuse in the gc so I’m not sure if it’ll work. I’m gonna try to pull a few other similar fuses to see if I can make anything happen, not confident though. Did you have any luck with yours?
I have a 2014 Dodge Durango limited AWD, and pulling the fuse didn't seem to turn off my traction what so ever. Is there any tips on things to do next? Does anyone know?
I’m new to the channel and just wanted to throw this out there, Dodge makes a 2wd Durango R/T so why not just by one so you take a chance on tearing something up. I’m all about burnouts but I don’t like taking the chance of spending thousands of dollars to fix something that was preventable. Great channel though.
