Slipcot XIX Slipknot is the band that like introduced me to metal, and now I listen to a lot of other bands too like Megadeth, Metallica, Pantera, and ya all that good stuff
Well. I agree with you kinda. It really depends, Meta definitely requires more skill than EDM but I dare to say an orchestra is much more versed than most if not all metal bands. But that's just my opinion.
Takes talent to scream without screwing your vocal cords. Takes some real talent to sound good while doing it. And switching between aggressive and clean? Phew yea 😅
Yeah. I love metal but I don't like bands like cannible corpse or dying fetus who just growl. Not that I dislike hardcore stuff, I love Amon Amarth, but I like lyrics, not "ooooooooooooooohgghgghghooooooghhgghgooghgoghoghhgg"
Screaming is all about practicing. I sounded terrible the first times but I practiced in the car so no one can hear me. I never thought I could do it. But now I can scream at an acceptable level without laughing about myself lol :D
I have to have just the right amount of liquid in the back of my mouth to do it right or it sounds like trash. When I can do it right though it's some of the deepest most cavernous growls I've ever heard.
When Psychosocial first came out I thought they were screaming Circumcision. And to be honest it would still sound good if they were singing that instead.
This guy will be an easy convert and we need to see more of him the on screen chemistry between the two of you is great you can tell you've been friends a long time.
The Doge On Fire don’t get me wrong I love Cannibal Corpse. However due to the lyrics and vocals, I just don’t think it is good for someone trying to get into metal.
There was good chemistry between you both in front of the camera. It was refreshing to see you converse with someone and teaching them a thing or two about metal, which is just what the community had done with yourself. Great to see you pass the love of metal on!
Jim Root's Telecaster is custom build with EMG Active Elements. Most Fender Telecasters have passive elements. Edit: Guitars with active elements are often used in metal for their extra sustain. Edit 2: Guitarsbrands often used in Hardrock/metal: ESP/LTD, Schecter, Ibanez ,Jackson, BC Rich
Isn't it rather, that alex usually bangs on the off beat? Seemed kinda weird for me as well first, but i think, the mix between different headmovements(up down; left right) and off/ beat makes you look like an experienced banger ^^

Once you drum.. you never miss a beat. Generally people who never play an instrument tend to miss the beat when headbanging. It comes from focusing on the vocals too much.
@@kreptas9083 i wanted to suggest more songs like silvera and magma and born in winter but the list would be too long..so i just selected a few..i like them equally
I know you said it already, but this dude SHOULD be in more reaction videos. It's DOPE to see you two appreciate music in a general sense from outside of your comfort zone.
I can't believe how behind the times I am lol. I just ran across this channel over the last couple of weeks and I've spent several hours binge watching tonight. Lol. Love these guys. They crack me up
"I'm sure there's some Metal songs that I wouldn't like." *cue throat-screaming and machine gun drums* Alice Cooper said something to that effect about a lot of (short-lived) Metal bands in an interview years ago: "Yeah, man, I get it. You're angry. But where's the SONG?"
This was awesome! Your friend is such a nice guy and he seemed like he was having a good time! I think the same as regards the Telecaster, for me that's a guitar for more traditional rock, but there you have it!
I'm a massive metal head and funnily enough about 11 years ago is when I got into metal and Psychosocial was the first song that I was exposed to. I love this song so very much and I appreciate others seeing the greatness of this song.
I liked the channel enough with just Alex alone but having Austin there to give you real time info to help break it down for you is a very nice compliment to the videos. You guys both seem like dope ass dudes. \m/
3:12 was wonderful. It’s crazy how far you’ve transitioned and you completely understand as if you’ve been a metalhead your whole life. I’m a proud dude.
Seeing this live was intense. They interacted with the crowd, and they made the entire experience fun, and the money was completely worth it. I’m totally going to another Slipknot concert.
Took the words right outta my mouth. He needs some Jinjer in his life. I Speak Astronomy and Pisces are good starts before moving on to some more hardcore Tatiana goodness.
Wait, he is your best friend, or your brother? I'm lost. Loved his reaction, such an amazing and happy guy just like you. I know why you're best friends. ❤
Alex man can you please do Blind Guardian-Mirror mirror live from imaginations through the looking glass?!?! Also Blind Guardian- Valhalla live is reeeaaally epic too!!! You'll love it!! And when we're at it throw in Blind Guardian-The bard's song (in the forest) live as well!!!
Thank you for your service! Good choice! When I EAOS'd, my blast song was Iron Maiden - Run To The Hills. Slipknot wasn't exactly huge back in 2002 though, or I might've leaned more that way.
I prefer Tim "Ripper" Owen's version. For some reason, I had not seen or heard the Ozzy version (yes, original). And when I heard it later, I almost started to laugh.... I seriously though there was something wrong with the recording. I mean, come on, that Ozzy version is just horrible! Singing sounds out of tune and guitar sound is like someone trying to iron a cat. It's like the song was recorded on c-tape and transferred from that, with tape player which batteries were nearly finished, so the speed of recording would vary xD Well, maybe I would think differently, if I had heard the original back in the day, with a bottle of whiskey under my belt... But still... ;)
First - Your friend is AWESOME, Second - Please react to: 1) Slipknot - Sulfur,Eyeless(live at Download 2009), Dead Memories,Circle and Disasterpiece (with Sarah and Austin) 2) Pantera - Primal Concrete Sledge; 3) Stone Sour - St. Marie and Fabuless; 4) Ghost - Rats; 5) Jinjer - Captain Clock(live); 6) Trivium - The Wretchedness Inside; 7) Emmure - Solar Flare Homicide. PLEASE!!!
It's hilariously nice too see the evolution on your reactions about metal, from "*shock* WTF, but this is actually nice", to knowning the lyrics and digging into singers' details! Nice channel dude :) 2 nice old school metal songs for you to enjoy: Soufly - Tribe Korn - Blind Oh, them good ol' days... Thank me later!
Finally subscribed to the channel after watching tons of your videos...dunno why it took so long lol. I suggest listening to a band called "Skindred", a very interesting variation of metal, I think you would like the song "Nobody". Anyways keep up the good vids and love seeing your evolution towards metal! Have a dope ass day ;-)
( not so) Fun fact: Recording IOWA, Corey Taylor nearly ruined his voice. He was drinking massively back then and didn't feel the pain, caused by shouting without proper technique. That is also the reason why his shout on this album is more raw and dark than on any other album.
