We show how to remove a Baggage Handling System, Bhs gear box and motor removed from shaft. The Gearbox can take a hard set on the shaft after years of service. A custom made pulled plate is used to pull the gearbox off the shaft. Anti seize should be used on the shaft when reinstalling the gearbox.

We usually use a gear puller but I like your method as well.

James Ladd. Where I work we have similar gearboxes. What is an easy way to install. I’m the real world they just don’t slide back on.

@@miker8623putting a bold with a big washer in the ax. And same principle as in video. And please use a lot of grease. It will help next time.

I would have like to have seen what the other end of the threaded rod, how dose it push on the pulley without hurting the roller.

Thanks for watching, it’s a standard pusher rod, robbed out of a gear pulled, so the far end has a rotating flat head on it

Se me seria muy util ya que me dedico al mantenimiento de faja transportadora pero quiero realizar estos extractor, pero no se como buscar las dimensiones del reductor.

What are the dimensions of the screws you used in this ocassion?, by the way it looks in the video, plate thicknness is around ½ in. Also, if possible, do you remember what kind of style of screw is, standard, extra fine, etc?

The screw is from a puller set, i believe it was 1/2 fine thread. 12” long

Is this way having bad impact on hollow shaft bearings? I think this gearbox should be overhauled after dismounting this way

We have had no issues with gear boxes removed this way.

It is a gear puller used to pull the motor off the shaft. The motor and shaft take a set and are very hard to remove

Why not use an impact instead of a ratchet??? It’s wat I use cuz it works faster and less work lol

With the impact I would worry about damaging the shaft or the gearbox. Removing it by hand allows you to feel when something goes wrong, and lowers the chance of mushrooming the shaft. Thanks for watching and have a great one
