That’s actual SOP for vehicle convoys, on air contact you “herringbone” off the road, dismount from softskins and employ any AA weapons. Staying on the road just gives them a nice easy lineup to kill multiple vehicles in 1 pass.

Who knows they might not have the Viggens. Buying sell the aircraft are expensive. I have only 5 myself plus the flaming cliff ones.

what are they supposed to do...try to run? the only unrealistic part here is that the convoy has no SPAAG or even ManPads.

They all seemed to move but I am not sure if you are expecting a 60mph vehicle in the desert to be able to run and hide from a modern jet or something.

It would be great to see how different teams and servers will deal with the multi-role capabilitites of the F/A 18. CAS and CAP may be a bit of a blurry line once its fully featured. Naval Ops would be nice to see when you guys have a chance - Start from a carrier and move inland.

havocmwf AA wouldn‘t suffice to protect that convoy. No sane military commander would ever move such a convoy in broad daylight without air superiority (or at least some serious air cover).

Ronald I made a huuuge misstake in the beginning, thats why comms are important. Though they would callout when rolling so I started taxiing without calling...lol

Naki, no there isn't any RSAF bases on the DCS Persian Gulf map.

Naki Ami Hey man, how are you? Nah, I have a running narrative with Cap that converts his internet action into real world. So no, I know of no Saudi bases in the game, I am just joking around with him. Other than the billions of dollars I send him for bases, aircraft, maintenance, fuel, men and training, I just sit back and watch the Reapers do their thing!

Nice work, except of course the traffic control. I'm more than ever convinced that I avoid being a tank driver at all costs. But 1 Maverick = 1 Tank...would that really be cost effective? The rockets seem like the most (and best) bang for the buck. Was every unit firing at you? Or could you have identified and killed the AAA operators first with the Mavericks?

What gpu do you have, if you don't mind me asking?

Blasting the top deck of a tank with even modest munitions is usually worth doing.

That deeply depends on the sort of rocket munitions used...several sorts have more then enough penetration to do disabling if not lethal damage. "Zuni" with the MK 32 MOD 0 warheads would do the trick nicely

I have an X55 HOTAS. The X55 has a small nipple-like nub on the right side of the throttle. I am asking how to make that little nub to function as a mouse pointer. I am right handed. So, I hold the stick in my right hand. In order to use cockpit controls, I must release the stick in order to use the mouse as a pointer. It would be nice to use the nub on the throttle located on my left side and there by not have to release the stick in my right hand. If you use an X55, you know what I am referring to.

@@gregpruitt1647 Two options come to mind - in the hotas software, make the x and y axis of the throttle "nub" function as the mouse x and y axis, and one of your hotas buttons to a left click. I have a CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle, and I was able to do this in my Control Manager profile. I haven't used it though. I ended up preferring to just use the mouse. If needed, I take my left hand off the throttle and hold the stick in place with the left hand while I use the mouse with the right hand. Making sure you are trimmed properly helps. You should be able to take your hand off the stick for a second or 2 without issue. Second option - the one I plan to use when I get into a full fidelity module - buy a cheap left-handed mouse and put it somewhere easily reached by your throttle hand.

@@eistynlewis6923 Why not? You can make whatever missions you want. Plus, gun kill would be much harder than apc/ifv. Makes as much sense as any/all these specific planes attacking a convoy together. Also, those 2 tanks ARE pretty similar, much like a cat has 4 feet and a tail, so obviously must be a skunk.

There are: The A10C can carry the - CBU 97 or the CBU-105 WCMD (a 97 with the Wind Corrected Munition Dispenser ) The Russians carry the RBK dispensers - there not as powerful The Viggen as the BK90 - its still being worked on at the moment it just delivers a single explosion instead of a clustered one. The M2000C has the BLG 66 Belouga - again still being worked on doesn't pack much of a punch yet. We try not to use them because 2 A10C's with 4x97s each would have killed that entire convoy in one pass - 2 min videos make Cap angry ;)

More since 2.5 released but not so many I cant play SP, try doing a repair using the dcs_updater.exe tool

My dcs 2.5.x crashed all the time, had even an open support ticket. My pc ran out of ram. I have 16gb physical ram but my page file was all wrong and not controlled by windows so it crashed all the time. Just a thought

F7 I believe for ground units - depends what mission settings if you can see hostiles or not.

jurre kooren more than likely because of your old computer parts. Recommended parts now are an I7 and a 1070 I think

Probably not, Tail was brand new to the A10C as he mentions in this video, also all of those gun runs were low angle. Really want to be doing high angle gun runs against Armour, hit them in the top where they are weakest and where you can maintain a good gun attitude, 30 degree dive for the win
