Hundreds of truckers headed to Ottawa in 'Freedom Rally' convoy against vaccine mandate.
The protest has been dubbed the "Freedom Rally" against the federal mandate for cross-border truckers, which went into effect on Jan. 15.
Canadian truck drivers now need to be fully vaccinated if they want to avoid a two-week quarantine and pre-arrival molecular test for COVID-19 before crossing into Canada.
The Canadian Trucking Alliance and the American Trucking Associations say up to 26,000 of the 160,000 drivers who make regular trips across the Canada-U.S. border are likely to be sidelined as a result of the vaccine mandate.

I hope they don’t tie up traffic or make a bunch of noise in front of Parliament. I am hoping to stay at the Empress and go to the museum and spend some time along the Inner Harbour. It’s so beautiful and there should be some great cafes and restaurants to try out. I wonder if the RCMP could enforce a noise complaint if the trucks start blaring their horns.

@@di4085 I’m trolling Dustin. I’m not even in BC at the moment. But that said, I think this “movement” is one part good (the 15% of truckers who are not vaccinated in Canada are making their voice heard, as it is impacting their livelihoods), one part misguided (we will need booster shots and masks for the foreseeable future for us to live a normal life and without them we run the risk of more restrictions when then next variant comes) and one part very worrisome (there are large numbers of fanatics in the convoy, apart from the legitimate truckers, who have avowed to remove the Trudeau government from office and have avowed violence if this isn’t achieved, and others are setting out to protest outside the homes of elected officials). So the legitimate concerns of a minority of truckers in Canada ? Yes that’s important. Misguided attempts to overturn public health measures? It will be ineffective and probably a waste of time, money and resources. And for the angry, extremists faction among them? This will undermine the truckers goals and turn any public sympathy against them. There that’s my view. That said, I wish I was in Victoria for a nice weekend, it is a truly beautiful spot

Yes indeed...we are weak, but they are strong.. they come as Soldiers of peace... the Giant ones, the dream Heroes, the heavy machines in our civil world..they roll down and they make us all, adults and children, wear a smile as we see them one behind another, thousand of them in large convoys... They are our weapons, our moving Hope, our hidden proud.. God the almighty bless them and give them strength and a brave heart, through the end of it....they speak for us all, in front of us they drive slowly as an artillery, we follow to feet after them... We are weak, but we are millions too.. Let us stay alive all together Chiana.. take a breath cause we love each other, we love freedom, we love you too... dont give up... My friend's wife Danita is from Macedonia. I worked for a company in the US with many employees who immigrated from eastern and central Europe. We always talked about how US and Canada were sliding into communism.
