Spam Musubi??? What a nice surprise! I was born and raised in Hawai'i and grew up eating spam musubi. For those who don't eat spam, you can also use hot dog or boneless chicken thighs using the same sauce. Just butterfly the meat and cut it to fit the musubi. Anyone traveling to Hawai'i, hit up 7-Eleven. The have a good selection of musubi's on hand along with other local favorite on-the-go food. Aloha!
As you probably know Hawaii is the spam capitol of the world, and spam Musubi started here, although other places may take claim. Ok don’t want to get to heavy into it, if you visit Hawaii there are spam Musubis everywhere, 7 11 has a variety and the prices are the best. However almost everyone I know here make them at home, I am really impressed that a gal like you did a fine job, only because I am assuming you didn’t live in Hawaii. So your coworker in vegas maybe shes a local gal from Hawaii, a lot of people from Hawaii relocated to vegas, calling it the ninth island. Just a few tips, you did a great job you make Hawaii proud, and you use the mold correctly. I’ve watched other people use the mold and they are not packing it tight enough. And yes we used to make it in the hotel and pack it for Disneyland, but because of 9 11 and so many restrictions we don’t bring all the things needed to make. However here in Hawaii it is a favorite field trip lunch for kids because it packs well and holds well. So this is why I do, rice spam rice, that way the spam is in between the rice and holds very well. And won’t fall apart. Also I fry in a nonstick pan no oil until the spam is nice and crisp sometimes on the verge of burnt, then I make very small amount of sauce pour it or spoon it and it carmelizes it, so no need to make to much sauce. And like you I use the whole nori to cover the rice, don’t do strip of nori, it falls apart. It’s only for looks that way, or the stores are saving money, I rather do it like you half sheet per Musubi. You can put that sushi nori in fridge even freeze it. That way it won’t get stale. Here in Hawaii we have spam, hot dog, chicken, beef, pork, Fish, all kinds of musubis. Even for vegetarians you can just do veg, avacado, or just rice and furikake, Some people will just get a bowl of rice sprinkle furikake and eat fried spam on the side. And can’t use long grain rice won’t stick never uncle bens rice either, gotta use Asian rice or sushi rice. Anyway you get the gist, thank you for a great video. Thumbs up from Hawaii spam Musubi capitol of the world
Oh wow, of all the RU-vidrs I watch, I think you’re the first to do a spam recipe. I’m sure there’s several out there, but I haven’t seeked them out. This takes me back to my childhood, my mom cooked a lot of spam for us. My favorite was her homemade bbq sauce spam. We grew up very poor and spam was something affordable and my mom made everything delicious. I truly love spam and turkey spam, but these days I do have to watch my sodium. Although we never had sushi spam, thanks for a great throwback for me. ❤
I have everything to make this, just haven’t yet. I think I’ll try it this weekend. We love spam, and we love sushi so we thought it would be a good thing to try.
Hi Tiffany 🌬🍀 I love seaweed and sushi 🍣 😋. I have never heard of Misubi. As a little girl, my mother cooked spam for us in many different ways, except Misubi. I'm getting that little gadget on Amazon and everything the recipe calls for. I'm looking forward to tasting it because it looks sooooo good. Thank you, Tiffany, for another good eats. Warm thoughts I send your way, Raquel 🙋🏻♀️🙈🙉🙊🌬👩🏼🍳🍣🍚🍱🍶🍀🌳🌳🏡🌳🌳🌬🍀🍀🍀
Trying this recipe this week as it looks amazing. I’ve tried it in mini form by the plateful 😂 but not like this. Just received my mould so super excited to make it.

Good morning sunshine! I can't lie to you! No I won't be trying this meal. It looks delicious, but I can't eat Soy sauce and I hate Spam! Sorry my sweet friend! This is the ONLY MEAL that I will not try, but you know everyone eats different. You are still the best and I love watching you my friend! Until next time! 🐰🤍🐇
I've never heard of Musubi before. I've also never tasted Spam before. But this was an interesting change for recipes - very cool. Off the subject but I would love it if you did another hair tutorial. Your hair is always SO very pretty!
Tiffany food 🍲 looks delicious 🤤!! What do you after you are all done cooking so the smell 👃 goes out? 😅I always complain about my house smelling funny after I cook 🫠🫠🫠
Oh my, our family joke is about eating spam as kids because we were poor 😂 my Mother says “we weren’t poor I just love spam” 😂 idk if I will try this. Trying to get back to Keto/low carb. Never heard of Wasoubee. ❤hugs Tiffany
You lost me at SPAM. 😂 Nah I still watched anyway. I always look forward to seeing your videos. I thought of you when I went into TJ MAXX and Homegoods this morning.😊
Okay so curious about how it plays in the Keto game. I’ve never tried spam but have heard all the bad wrap stuff about it growing up (hence never trying it) but have seen more recipes of late with spam included. Could you share info please for us Keto people?
I have heard of musubi but I never tried it due to the seaweed. Unfortunately I don’t like seaweed. I wish I did. Everything else looks delicious. I will try the recipe without the seaweed though. Funny thing is I ❤ seafood but not seaweed.
