This is the follow up from my steak cooking video, so i cooked dinner last night, and rann 2 fridges and a cpap all night and now imm going to use 3 mains powered appliances a kettle a toaster and induction cooker to make breakfast to see exactly how much i can really do. This is a real life and real time video so you can see i havent edits this heavily to hide anything
My system is a victron 12-1600-70 mulitplus. And 2 120ah 12v lithium batteries ive built this so i can “sustainably” cook 2 meals a day with my style of touring /overlanding

Thanks for making this video, yes it does help me live better in puerto rico. I'm a many times hurricane survivor ,after hurricane Maria I'm using solar for everyday use. Have 600w panels so far so good 😊 ....you don't need the toaster to toast the bread, the induction burner will do good or better. Happy cooking camping.

Great vid......appreciated the breakdown on power usage.....for what is worth, I would have shut down my eggs much earlier, taking carry over heat into consideration (I too enjoy over easy!) but thats what makes each person and their power/utensils into play....all good my friend :)

I will be using my Keurig coffeemaker for hot water/coffee with a reusable K-Cup. I have a Nuwave flex induction and the wattage seems a little low, but it won't drain my portable power source quickly

Hi Travis have you considered purchasing a mini inverter generator Outbax advertise the Gentrax GT800 for $329 , it weighs only 8.5 kilo, at half load is most efficient which would be ideal for pass through charging for your set up, is 400ml h and 210 w 450 l.

@@stephenanthony8711 i certainly have considered a small generator ans in some weather it certainly a nice stress relief that you could use it if solar isnt enough. Fortunately i havent needed to yet. But if i could grab a honda 1.0 used id be very tempted

water boiling 1057 wats for 2 minutes ( time in video 2:25 start boiling-you could switch it off in that time and you started 0:25 so 2 minutes needed) 1 minute = 0.0167. So how to calculate used energy? 1057 wats x ( 2 minutes *0,0167) = 1057 * 0,0334 = 35,31 Wh from battery has been taken. with 100 watt solar panel you need 21 minutes to top up 35,31 WH back to battery . FOrmula : 100*( 21*0,0167) = 35,07 Little help for solar nerds. How much time is needed to "top for example 100 Wh back" to your battery or solar power station? 100 watt panel = 1 hour 200 watt panel = 30 minutes formula for calculation ( 0,0167*30minutes*200 watt power from solar panel =100 wh) 300 watt panel = 20 minutes 400 watt panel = 15 minutes 500 watt panel = 12 minutes 600 watt panel = 10 minutes 700 watt panel = 8,5 minutes 800 watt panel = 7,5 minutes 900 watt panel = less than 7 minutes 1000 watt panel = 6 minutes

@TRAVISGOLDIE we love bacon, but all the slices, even thick cuts, are nothing like what you had there!

hey mate could you give me your opinion on my setup, i have a 120A lithium, 25A DCDC charger, and 240W Solar Panel. when i calculate it the induction cooker doesn't seam sustainable. but it would be great to hear someone else's opinion on my set up.
@TRAVISGOLDIE
@TRAVISGOLDIE 3 месяца назад
You have about half the battery and 1/3 the solar i have so yes you can cook but not every meal every day and im not accounting for any fridges etc
