Yo, Ryan! Your van escapades are legit my daily dose of chill - big ups for that! Today's journey, from catching Zs in a Walmart lot to soaking in Upstate New York's chill vibes, had me vibing. Buffalo wings in the great outdoors? Dang, that's some next-level move! I haven't thrown down in the kitchen with your recipes yet, but they're on my to-do list. That sweet and spicy sauce? Truffle parmesan fries? Sounds like a taste sensation! That waterfall spot? Straight outta 'A Quiet Place,' minus the monster drama - thankfully. Setting up Starlink in the wild? You're on another level. Living through your food adventures till I can whip them up myself. Keep those wheels turning and the flavor train rolling, dude! 🚐👨🍳
My neck of the woods where I grew up. It's so beautiful this time of year. Actually heading back up next week for my first Thanksgiving with family in 18 years. Glad you liked it.
You hit areas that I used to go to growing up. Thank you for showing off some of upstate NY I feel it’s beauty is often overlooked. Also I don’t think I’ve seen any vanlifers in the North East so it’s nice change of pace.
Ryan, huge fan from BUFFALO. Stumbled across one of your videos a few months ago and you quickly became my favorite RU-vidr! Needless to say Ive seen all your videos now and look forward to your new uploads. Funny part is I dont really like the outdoors, just love your content. Wanted to say thanks! Keep it going strong!! #gobills
This has been my favorite episode yet of your adventures. The vibe at the lake and those wings just made it a phenomenal experience. I look forward to seeing where you head to next!
As someone who grew up outside of Buffalo and spent a summers up in Plattsburgh thank you for showing how beautiful the state is. I tell people all the time there is a drastic difference between NYC and New York State and both are incredible for pretty much opposite reasons but Upstate or Western NY seem to be overlooked frequently and it surprises people when they do see it
You should go where ever your heart desires and we will enjoy the content you provide regardless. We watch because of you and your personality, the places and adventures are just a happy bonus
Definitely go back to upstate NY and explore more areas. As someone who lives downstate I feel like it doesn’t get the credit it deserves for being a beautiful, peaceful place, especially this time of year
Hello from the Potsdam area! Hope you enjoyed the southern and western scenery! It’s great this time of year, highly recommend you head to the true Upstate to check out the Adirondack Park and 315!
Glad to see we shared a overnight spot ! You’ve pushed me to go harder with my build after seeing this ! Thank you Ryan you have no idea the impact you’ve bought to me
Great video! just one thing. you are in southern NY still! update is north of Saratoga Springs! Im from Plattsburgh, NY almost as far north as you can get!
Sorta looked like West Point. Yes NY is beautiful. Storm King is amazing and you were right near it. Also a lot of historical sites from the Revolution, Maybe that’s a future road trip - do all revolutionary sites on the east coast. If you weren’t born on the E Coast you don’t know about these treasures.
Awesome I'm not in new york right now but your in my home town. Graduated in Hunter. It's so beautiful up Palenville mountain. Always loved seeing the waterfall after a big rain 😁
I admit, as a native Vermonter, I was a little bummed at going from Maine to New York (I always loved going to Maine as a kid and went to college in CNY, so I'm not that mad at it, of course!)
Try Ken's dressings there are really good growing up it was always hidden valley ranch but now I like the Ken's dressings and then hidden valley and the fries looked amazing.
I spent a lot of time camping in that area.Fawns Leap is another nice spot on the drive up to falls. The site of the hotel is now North South Lake Campground and the view of the valley from the bluffs is unbelievable.
Glad your bk, I was wondering about you last night, I actually came over to your channel see if you'd done any upload id missed , you stay safe, Prayers ❤
Ranch???With Buffalo wings?? Nooooo....! Blue cheese, my friend! When I moved to Charleston rom NY and I dipped my wing I truly thought the server made a mistake! If you ever go back upstate NY, be sure to visit more of the Hudson Valley. New Paltz, Mohonk, Minniwaska, etc., my favorite memories are up there! I miss it, but I don't miss the winters!
Not that you solicitated the suggestion, but always trying to help someone out. You should cut back on cooking with seed oils (canola, vegetable, olive (in moderation/temps). Great alternative at a low price is coconut oil. Get a large tub of it, throw in a teaspoon when heating pan and it will liquefy. Adds a great flavor to frying things. Cheers mate!
Ps if you want to try and make your own style of our wings alll the places get there wings from restaurant depot it’s a food warehouse where they sell to restaurants owners
Being from Buffalo, wings is serious business. You got Franks which is proper. Those are chicken legs but that's fine you explained why you got those. But, ranch even despite that you made your own is absolute heresy for wings to us Buffalonians. Bleu Cheese all the way! Great video as always Ryan!
I hang just on the other side of the Hudson from Kaaterskill. Such a beautiful area. So glad you got to enjoy it. There is much more to see and do in this area. Also, Great farm to market locations. Come back soon!
I'm a new (week-ish) subscriber, and have been watching a bunch of your videos. I love how you show us that cooking in the van can be creative and yummy. I want to live vanlife when my husband retires in a few years. This would be very helpful to him as he loves to cooke
There didn’t used to be steps down to the base of the falls just a really crappy trail…. It was fun! And I don’t remember a parking lot? I was there in the early 90’s
Kaaterskill Falls, you should’ve carved your name on the stones on top of the waterfall, some on there go all the way back to early 1900s. I always travel to north/south lake during summer. Awesome mountains.
I’ve seen u had blast time travel on route 23 W to 28A catskills to Haine Falls up the mountain. U should stay overnight at Whip-O-will campsites in Round Top near Cairo. Great place there. I’ve been camping there lot in the past. Enjoyed watch your video.
Thats my hometown! The cow farm you showed in 2:59 is Storys Farms, I used to go to that farmstand when I was a kid. I used to take lunch breaks at the top of the falls 15 years ago.
Great video as always! A couple things though! Buffalo is WESTERN NEW YORK and wings are only supposed to be dipped in blue cheese!! 😃 Great content as always man! Go Bills!
Another great video, I think we'll have to try this sauce! I think I've seen this spot before but haven't stayed there. It looks like Copper Lake outside of Woodstock NY to me.
Out of curiosity would all Americans call these wings?! In Australia those are definitely called drumsticks. Wings are what the bird uses to fly with lol, what you’re eating is what the chicken walks with. Regardless they looked fantastic, great job on the sauces, delicious!
This is first time you've cooked something and I went back and made it myself...or tried lol. And it was damn good. Spent 27 years in the culinary biz and that was probably the best sauce I had in years. Bravo
I love making the foods that you make!! I love the cooking portion of your videos how you cook a meal in each place you go and try to keep it close to that state's local food.
If you want to do a nice bleu cheese dressing you can just take out the two herbs and add some bleu cheese crumbles. I like some lemon juice too. Love your channel!
It’s funny you call that area upstate NY. I live near Albany, NY and there’s been the longest running debate where upstate NY starts and most people believe upstate doesn’t start until Albany and runs into the Adirondacks. I believe it’s Albany north. But Catskills are great too but next time you come definitely try the Adirondacks.
If you happen to pass through the SF Bay Area, specifically the South Bay along the 101 to San Diego, let us know, there are a lot of cool spots, especially in the Santa Cruz area.
