When you fill up your tank maybe do your dishes right there. Then top off your tank with water. If you have a chance look up egg cookers. I use mine all the time and have one in my camper also. They hard boil eggs super fast with very little water. You can do about 7 at a time.
Definetly one of my fav van channels at the moment I enjoy vancity van life as well but Ryan's very good at these videos and always makes 10 outa 10 videos !
He was right to keep calling it a stew. I'm sure you noticed he didn't put the potatoes in the stew but that's not any type of chili that I've ever had. The beef cuts were stew meat that you could also use for kabobs. Maybe they do things different in Texas. It looks good regardless.
I only live a few hours from this, and have never been there, so I'm really glad to see this, I will have to check it out! Love, A Texan who eats beans in her chili :)
Looked damn good! The nice thing about chili is that it's so versatile! Like corn in it? Roast some up and slice it in! Want it hotter? Easy! I personally love to have some roasted serrano and Anaheim peppers, even hatch green chilis add some pop to it. I grew up in a house that did it with beans, but spice wise we kept it very Tex-Mex. When you have extra mouths to feed, the beans stretch the recipe and can add a lot of extra flavor and texture. I realized I didn't say what type of beans, so stretching out the recipe with some kidney beans bulks up the recipe, and some navy beans or black beans for some flavor. Any beans you like will add a creamier texture to the recipe especially with leftovers. Keep killin it Ryan!
Thank you for your inspiration. I’m in my DIY Sprinter, not completed, but driving anyways…lol. Unfortunately I got the flu yesterday. I’m grateful for hot tea and bananas. Watching your videos gives me strength. I will make homemade soup tomorrow and get well.
I just had chili today that my sis made! Perfect for a chilly day! You need your own cooking channel! I’m so inspired by you and makes me hopeful of cooking for one when I hit the road!👍🏾
I tried to tent camp there on an amazing overlook at Lake Meredith a little over a year ago, but the flies were SO bad I had to pack up. It was the worst I'd ever seen, sitting down my legs and arms were covered instantly. Amazing seeing it from another angle, and you can't beat free! Thanks for the amazing video.
I've slept in that same campground in the exact same spot. I even made a video about it on my channel because i was shocked how beautiful that spot was and that it was completely free. Especially being in the texas panhandle which is pretty desolate in alot of places. Definitely was one of my favorite spots I've stayed in on the road
Ryan - I watch a video of yours every night, without forwarding which i rarely do with other videos. They are so so relaxing. I have insomnia so they really help. Thank you!
He surely has the personality and the voice to do anything he wants to achieve throughout his entire life !!! He will definitely never be an under rated man in his life … Happy Holidays !!! 🎄❤️🎄
Ryan there is chili and then there is chili beans. Some of the best chili beans are portagee beans. Shout out to my father in laws family The Oliveira’s. Linguica is the key addition Ryan.
i get so anxious when you cook! a bigger cutting board always gives me a huge sense of relief and safety. i like that you’re using a nice sharp knife now but it can be weird adjusting. you should put a towel under your cutting board so it doesn’t slide around.
The biggest difference between Texas Chili is that it’s a whole meal by itself, but New Mexico chile is kinda like a condiment that just goes on everything. Red, green or Christmas style you can put it on any meal to make it New Mexican 😋
If you plan on going through Las Vegas, PLEASE PLEASEEEEE TRY Red Rice LV. They cook Chamorro (cha-more-roe) food. Look around the menu and if you still can’t decide get the Hafa-Adai (Ha-Fuh-Day) Plate . 100% recommend .

Have you thought about getting a screen you can hang/pin where your door is? That way you can leave the door open on nice days without having a billion bugs fly in.
hey ryan or whoever is reading this, i hope you are having a blessed day, i started watchin from your video with simplistic and I am so glad he did that video! put me on to an amazing creator! Been without power due to a tornado now i can watch ur vid!
Hey Ryan! You’ve got elephant garlic there. It’s great when treated like a vegetable and not as pungent as “regular” garlic. Also, chili is a form of stew and what you made looks great!
You watch a lot of movies in the evening before bed, which is awesome - have you considered making a Letterboxd account and sharing what you've been watching?
I prefer chili w/no beans...I'm a diabetic, type 1 and beans are very high in carbs, they may be a fiber loaded thing but the carbs will still make me gain weight so I pretty much stay away...same as rice...at least beans have a health benefit...rice is nothing but just a carb, stripped of it's grain (brown rice)...nice lookin' dish once again Ryan!
I always use chipotles in adobo for chili as well. They're nice and smoky and CONSISTENT. With jalapenos you just never know what you're getting. They might be as spicy as a bell pepper or they might melt your face. The chipotles are always the same level of heat so you know what you're working with.
While you are in Texas go to the Palo Duro Canyon by Amarillo, Texas. It's called the Grand Canyon of Texas. Pretty cool and this time of year it will be nice temperatures.
