Try cooling your lumpias in a smaller bowl lined with tissue standing up or diagonally. This lets the oil drains in one end so that when it cools it doesn't get a whole side soggy with oil, just some of the tips. If you have chicken broth in a gentle boil, you can use the same stuffing seal the in molo wrapper (smaller serving sizes for single wrapper, wrapper folded into itself into triangles) and have yourself some simple version of molo soup. Love how you're both enjoying the Filipino palate, and how adventurous Lucy is with trying out recipes. RU-vid is a goldmine of Filipino recipes, you won't run out.

Molo wrappers are used for "Pancit Molo" - They're a dumpling soup from Molo, Iloilo City and is a comfort food for me. These wrappers can also be used as siomai wrappers. It's made of flour. Lumpia wrappers are mostly made of eggs. 👏🏼🥟 Yummy bihon and lumpia!

Lumpia wrappers that Filipino used to know are made of Glutinous Flour(sometimes 3rd Graded Flour) and Water NO eggs. I used to work on a public market where they make different kinds of wrappers.

Kudos Lucy for being able to pull off the molo wrapper to wrap to a full size Lumpia! 😁 Molo wrapper are used in dimsum. Wrapping it on a tiny meatballs, then you could steam it or deep fry. For an added crunch, you may use the colander to drain the excess oil instead of paper towel. The airflow in colander makes fries crunchier. 😉

You made it Lucy making lumpia by using the dumpling wrapper! You are really a very good cook! Make lumpia with lots of shrimps and ground pork it is really the best lumpia. Put lots of garlic, green onion, salt and pepper, eggs and a tablespoon of cornstarch. Use the lumpia wrapper. Try it.

Next time guys, try any pansit with a squeeze of calamansi before eating, they are a great combination! Molo wrappers are intended for siomai :) But very resourceful, good job lucy, it was a great idea to patch them up to look like a big wrapper, but it will definitely be crispier than a lumpia wrapper, they have different textures ;)

Whoa! That's so genius Lucy! As I never used MOLO wrapper to cook Lumpia. I always use the same wrapper that you basically used for cooking Turon. Thanks for this "soldering" idea that you just showed us here. But instead of water I might just use a slurry of cornstarch and water or maybe beaten eggs to glue the molo wrappers up. Usually Molo wrappers are used for cooking Siomai /pronounced as Shô-maï/ (it's basically similar to Lumpia but Siomai is basically similar to a steamed dumpling). Thanks for the ideas again! I'll definitely try this!

Good job for cooking delicious pancit Lucy 😊👌. If I can make a suggestion next time you cook pancit try to cook this way (mostly practiced pancit cooking) 1. Saute minced garlic and onion. 2. Add your sliced chiken and you may add chiken liver too (highly recommended). You will be amaze because it will bring a great flavor. Saute it and add soysauce. 3. Then dumped your pancit, mix it and put some chicken broth. Add the vegetables. 4. Season it with salt and pepper. Mix it until the pancit and vegetables is cooked. Hard-cooked veggie would be fine. 5. Served it with calamansi 😁 No need to cook the veggie and pancit separately.

Good cooking isn't about recipes. Good cooks understand the principle and the techniques and they improvise. I just know that Lucy is a good cook because she understands the recipe, knows what it should look, taste, feel like and if she doesn't have the exact ingredients, she improvises and it works. I've seen your previous cooking videos before and you don't have the same exact traditional techniques or ingredients, but as a cook myself, I just know it works and the food you cooked tasted excellent. You done really well Lucy! Lucky George! Haha

Kudos to Lucy for being resourceful with the molo wrapper! That's supposed to be for a dumpling, that is why they are smaller and thicker. But nevertheless, lumpia is lumpia whatever shape and form. Google how to make pancit molo. It is basically what you have done in here, only with soup and some flat noodles. Very tasty and perfect for rainy weather. Eat it with pandesal and hot chocolate, and life is perfect! ♥️

It's good of Lucy to learn to cook Filipino dishes. Next you have to learn the Filipino art of using flavor dipping sauces and condiments. Make vinegar with chopped garli onions, and some chili peppers ("sling labuyo") for dripping on the vegetable lumpia. Also mix calamansi juice (sourness) with the pansit bihon to "counterpoint" it with the salty and savory taste of the soy sauce ad noodles.

A squeeze of calamansi on the bihon will make it taste better due to the acid component. I believe that the lumpia you made is called lumpinag gulay (literally vegetable lumpia). An alternative dipping sauce would be white or cane vinegar with onions, garlic, chili, and a little bit of sugar.

That Molo wrapper hack to make it bigger is brilliant and instead of the using the Lumpia wrapper, you used the Molo which made it crispier and also less chances of the vegetables breaking the wrapper. Now, I am more inclined to use Molo wrappers instead of the Lumpia wrappers. Thanks.
