Yay! Today we're cooking mega meals to feed a crowd. That's right, I'm doing my daily large family cooking to feed my family of 11. I thank myself for the huge freezer meals I've made from scratch for several dinners. I cook up a big 16 qt stock pot full of THM Trim Train Taco Soup. Together we bake several dozen cookies we made for the freezer. We also have a bowling alley big family birthday party, play lots of games, watch lots of movies, and have mega fun, too.

My favorite moment in any Jamerill video is when you have pj's/robe, no make-up, and a GIANT MUG of tea or coffee. You do the long stare into the camera and sometimes add the "mmmm-hmmm". It makes me smile every time. ❤️ Love you, your personality, and your spirit !

My husband was a cook actually the mess steward in the National Guard. Because he didn't have numerous ovens to do everything he wanted to do I did most of his baking for him. This left his oven's open for whatever he needed to put in there.I would make up to 30 dozen Snickerdoodle cookies a month and put them in the freezer. They had cookies with their coffee in the morning. Some kind of cobbler that I would throw together the night before and more cookies with coffee before the day was over. The next day was the same only I usually made sheet pies or cakes. Luckily he was able to get the ingredients for me to do all this baking. I would get lots of hugs from those boys when I showed up ar the armory. I sure do miss those days.

I homeschool my two older grandchildren (14 & 12). We read classics like Where the red fern grows, etc. When we finish, or if I think the reading might be tough, we also watch the movies. They then compare and contrast the two to see what may be different. You can also go to Teachers pay Teachers and find worksheets that will guide you through this assignment.

Yes, for sure! That's how I love to do literature studies for the past 18 years. We usually read the book, watch the movie(s), tons of discussions, and then do additional lapbooks, notebooks, and worksheets. Back in the day when I was homeschooling my now grown sons, we didn't have TPT. I made a lot of our worksheets and unit studies homemade. Love all the resources that keep on growing 🤗

I had that thought after but fir Christmas I did give her lots of premade frozen cookie dough. Plus I don’t have much freezer space at this moment. During those cold days in December I kept them in the cooler outside to store. Lol

I'm glad you're at least thinking about continued healing. But please enact those plans to relax and baby yourself as much as humanly possible. Your mental attitude is amazing, the planning, cooking, fun times for your family, your service to others... so much more, it makes my head spin, Jamerril. You know best, but I care about you, so please try and carve out a 'do nothing but relax day' for Jamerrill maybe at least one day a week or as many "just Jamerrill hours" as possible. I have no idea what life is like with 9 children, except for all the amazing love, hugs, smiles and fun part, so don't mind me if I'm asking the impossible. I pray God blesses you and your beautiful blessed children and husband with a great 2023.

If you are going to read them Where the Red Fern Grows, you should also read them Summer of the Monkeys by the same author. It is a much more uplifting story, one that won't be heart-wrenching and leave your kids bawling, but it also has good life lessons and they made a movie about it, too. Red Fern just killed me, both the book and the film. I loved Little Anne and when Big Dan lay on her grave and grieved, that still gets me even as an adult. The book is so well written. Both of them are. And they both have teacher's guides available. It's really a shame Wilson Rawls only wrote the two books. I would have liked to have read so much more from him. As a kid I would have devoured it.
