Thank you, Charles, a blast from the past. Honestly, I do not like canned corned beef. We have brands from Australia and the US available in the Philippines but they are a no-go for me except in an extreme emergency. Too much salt and fat. I do wish the dried beef in a jar that my grandmother used for a similar SOS was available here but we have never seen it in supermarkets. Thin shaved raw beef is available at the meat counter. If stock is low, the employees will gladly slice more for you. With that, I have made beef jerky in several varieties. The jerky was always popular with our gang's schoolmates. It will be a simple matter to make plain dried beef and perhaps seal it in jars by dry canning for Beautiful Bride to make this camp meal anytime. I feel a practice session coming on.
