Still the best lessons to this day. My playing took off thanks to you and I’m infinitely grateful. I still am pretty sloppy because I tend to not be patient but when I kick on the metronome it’s some video of yours.
That last one is really cool, I'm looking for a bend lesson with bending a string, and then fretting another, usually higher note. No idea what it is called.
Carl, for the afternoon oblique bends, do you have any tips on how to keep your pinky anchored? I can’t seem to strike both strings initially and bend the G without also bending the B a bit with my pinky.
Any chance you could explain the types of bends where you're muting the strings above your target bending string? Or some strategies to help with that. There are countless times where I'm playing fast and need to attack my bend with some force but can't help but hit other strings on the way down there some times.
How do you stop the string on top of the string you bend from vibrating afterwards? It's really annoying XD I know in another video he says use your third finger to mute it but obviously you can't do that here (even in other scenarios you may be doing a pull off hard after so can't mute as well..)
Be careful not to hurt yourself. Listen to great acoustic players and watch how they do it. I have never seen great players bending whole steps on an acoustic guitar strung with acoustic strings. There are other ways to get the effect you are after.
It is most definitely possible. Look at Slash and Myles Kennedy Rare Acoustic arrangements for sweet child o' mine. Great example. But then again, he's tuned down a half step. Cheers!
I have a problem and its that i keep braking my strings lol ive broken 6 already in my entire life and also from diferent guitars.....any body has some tips
Richard MG ive had the same problem, i was holding my pick too tightly. You should relax your thumb more. look some videos up on how to hold your pick, that helped me.:)
Steven Tiggelman I can only imagine; I’m curious how he even managed to travel from his home of the 2D cartoon dimension into our world. Not to mention, why he would take up residence in your finger? Maybe he just needed a break from mentoring the turtles and get some “me” time I, for one, cant imagine the hardships of being a elderly kung-fu master rodent responsible for four violent, obnoxious human/turtle hybrids.
