I am a beginner to woodwork, the main test I have with this bundle ru-vid.comUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt is that I think that its hard to settle on a choice of the plan and outline to use as there are a large portion of them there. Nonetheless, I like the simple stride to step directions laid out there.

An old trick for making your glue up easier is to put salt on the glue before you apply pressure. The grains of the salt bite into the wood pieces to prevent slipping from the wet glue. It’s especially helpful when glueing up multiple parts at once as you don’t have to hold everything together by hand. The more coarse the salt, the better the effect. And despite salt being essentially tiny minerals, it’s not hard enough to impair cutting or damage a saw blade. This is a forgotten trick from the 50’s and 60’s that still works just fine.

Well, in that case, I'd say to use kosher salt, but sea salt would be preferable. Kosher is quite coarse but sea salt is very, very coarse.

Awesome job. I agree no annoying background music.
@dobiebloke9311
@dobiebloke9311 3 года назад
Knight32d - I've been thinking about it. I'm not a professional musician or sound engineer, just a weekend warrior, but I have numerous friends who are professionals, so I've picked up a thing or two, just for fun. When it comes to music, and sound levels on YTube, or otherwise, I'm not being critical of the particular tune, but rather, here I am, listening to voice, but when the music comes, for some reason, almost universally, the sound level is amped up to 11, which makes no sense to me, and in fact, annoys me, in that I now have to be your 'sound engineer', riding 'gain' on your content. I understand. I'm getting it for 'free', so who am I to complain? That's true, but I do complain, at least in my heart. This nasty habit of 'music', needing to be so loud, as if somehow more dramatic, is absolute BS, to my feeble mind (or ear). Lay back please, and let the picture tell the story. Please don't annoy me with your ill-conceived audio, that requires me to suddenly be your 'sound engineer'. There are some, on YTube and elsewhere, who do understand that, but they are few and very far between. So, and it's a long sooo, that is what I particularly enjoy about HandCraft. There is no BS, as you mentioned. As well, as you said or implied, there is no 'fluff' about it, in the sense that I too, feel as if I am on the floor. For example; I don't know his name, nor from whence he hails. Not a clue, but granted, I'm a newbie here. To be honest, at least with myself, when was the last time I experienced that? Basically, never, as most sites, even the best intentioned, are as much about 'them', as anything, which clearly HandCraft is not. He, just assuming, is about the mission at hand, always. It is so rare to find, let alone with content to appreciate, that it is almost as if it's 'wood porn'. Just so natural, as life tends to be, but he doesn't F it up, in terms of it all 'being about him'. Hat's off to Larry (or, Bob's your Uncle), as he just lets the work speak for itself, as for once, somebody gets it. I have a number of advantages. First of all, the thought that I might need a lathe, and a band saw, being inspired so (being about the only tools I lack). As well, a wife, who is very much 'hands on', perhaps even more than I, so there will probably be no argument about it. Also, a brother, who is a true 'Finish Carpenter'. Re-building old Railroad cars or Victorian filigree for the last 50 years, being his bread and butter, so of course, he is my number one 'go to', should I have any questions. I can't imagine I would, but just in case I do, he's there for me. Just kidding, in terms of questions, as of course, I am always loaded for bear.

my affinity for these well made videos, of such exquisite production value equivalent to the quality of the items being constructed, is slightly jilted by my never being able to afford the myriad tools and appliances necessary to bring forth into existence such wonders from mere scraps of wood. though my enthrallment never wanes. thank you for the beauty.
