Ralph's similar singing voice to MJ is one of the things that stood out to his very first music producer Maurice Starr. In the early 1980's, Starr groomed New Edition after the likings of The Jackson Five, but just with a fresh new contemporary 80's appeal. Hope you enjoyed...thanks for watching!
I recall being around 5 years old when "Cool It Now" dropped back in 1984 and I've been a fan ever since! The song and the video were so huge back then and I remember my mom brought my older brother the vinyl record single that had the single-a-long version on it :) Thx 4 watching!
Ralph was my dream husband for years...OMG. All the fellas are the men...so proud that through good and bad...they still can remain friends. Some of these artist today need to learn and listen.
You're absolutely right...it's amazing how history repeats itself...New Edition's story does closely mirror that of The Temptations as far as trials & tribulations go, but I'm so thankful that their current endeavors are ending on a much more positive note than what the original Temps endured...it's nice to know that N.E. is still succeeding after so many years and finally getting some well deserved respect ...thanks for your comment and for watching!
I don't know much of the Temps story. I love NE since i grew up enjoying there sound from Candy Girl....They are to me the greatest group then, now amd for ever.
New Edition has longevity. Ralph n Johnny had some shine individually. BBD was major, but Bobby Brown was on another level when his light shined. Son went global with his with his 2nd solo project. He was on a different level altogether with his. Respect to all of them, no doubt. RIP Whitney n Bobbi.
You're absolutely right...NE has been through so many ups and downs until it's not even funny...but I believe their appreciation for one another and their fans keeps them motivated to get through the music industry's hardships...perhaps in the future we will see them release new material...thank you for your comment & for watching!
IKR! It feels good that we were able to appreciate artists who were not only trendsetters, but who made meaningful and long lasting music...NE really has shaped an entire generation and inspired so many people from all walks of life...these brothas truly are special in more ways than one...thanks for watching & glad you enjoyed!
NE is one of the very few groups IN HISTORY that have had as much success as solo acts as they did as a group. A testament to each individual's talent. 'Poison' is still being bumped on video games like Dance Central & at parties like it's 1990 all over again, ask any Ghostbusters fan (me) & they'll tell you they still have MAD LOVE for Bobby's "On Our Own," & midday/quiet storm segments across the country still play 'Sensitivity' & 'My, My My' in heavy rotation. NE's record is truly uncanny.
I LOVE NEW EDITION!!! I am in my 41 and still get TOOOOO excited about them. They are a 1 in a million group. There will never be a group that would EVER compare to them.
that's not a group THATS A FAMILY and as growing up with them I pray to grow old with them 1 love to all six.. but that sang Ralph.. has ruined 2 of my marriages lol THANKS RALPH 😉
My thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, and fans of Whitney Houston. May God bless her soul. She shared a beautiful gift with the world and her amazing voice will always live on through her music. Rest In Peace. Whitney Elizabeth Houston 1963 - 2012
Let us remember that Johnny Gill was already a successful solo artist out of Washington D.C. who already had his own status singing with Stacy Lattisaw in his earlier years and releasing his album " Johnny Gill " ( Not be confused with the 1990 album of the same name ) in 1983 at age 17. When he was recruited for New Edition , he was 21 years of age. As Ralph said in this video , Johnny was brought in to replace him , a fact left out of the 2005 " Behind The Music " documentary.
After all these years, N.E. is still "on point" and their legacy continues to grow...glad you were able to see them recently perform...thanks for viewing:)
@SPEAKONITMAGAZINE Yes it will be a blessing to finally see their story told on the big screen. There's talk that it may happen this year so let's keep our fingers crossed! Thanks for watching.

It is amazing to me how many hits NE has. All of the songs together and the individual projects combined too. They are crazy talented and to this day, they dont miss a beat. This group is so underrated and need to honored at the Grammy awards or something for their contribution to music. Im glad they have a Hollywood star now and their movie biopic is playing now. I love New Edition every since I was 12 years old.

My name is Ramon Hart and I'm enrolled in film school. Also, I'am the biological 2nd cousin of that late Natina Reed of 1990s female R&B trio BLAQUE ( former member Shamari is married to Ronnie ). Please, keep me in your prayers as I work on a screenplay AND Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for New Edition!

Gabrielle Haynes .... They originally all kept giving reasons for him to stay. The manager forced them to VOTE. Bobby out. He wasn't taking keeping Bobby as an answer.

I also grew up on New Edition's music as a child in the 80's! We have literally watched them grow from boys to men! I am so proud of the fellas and love the fact that they are finally being recognized on screen! Thanks for watching!
that was a very nice documentary. I have always been down with NE since they started. I saw them twice in New York. Ralph I love u the most. Replacing u would have never worked. The fans would miss ur beautiful falsetto. Oh and my birthday is 5/14 same year as yours.
Did you know that i think that count me out was made just for bobby...WOW they must have loved him even through the things they went through with him . How nice
As a child, New Edition was my favorite group. Once I became a woman, Boyz II Men became my favorite group along with Jagged Edge. So, as you all can tell, I'm old-school. LOL!! 😆 Nice presentation. I enjoyed going down memory lane. Thank you. 😊
humpty dumpty You are correct in stating that. Also, Bobby song on Ralph album and appeared in his videos. Brotherhood at its finest. They always have each other's back.
Wow. This was an excellent segment on New Edition. Revealed things I never knew..i.e., Johnny being brought in to replace Ralph as lead singer. I never heard the Remix to 'Stone Cold Gentlemen'!. Their Music will always be entrenched as an emotional bookmark in my life. Well done. 3/20/14.
