I agree on the message Brew. I tried to watch the poke overflow video pointing out this "bad behavior" ...and I had to turn it off halfway. I think alot of us are fed up with RU-vid censoring and everyone having to be so PC... Especially to survive on a platform like RU-vid, that, imo anyway, there's a place for Ryan. He almost fills a void. I don't consider that content racist, I consider it adults having fun on the Internet, probably a little too much at times, but it's going to naturally happen, when RU-vid is censoring the word "The" in half the videos I watch, it's like half a silent film sometimes. People in one video can talk about incest and satanic murder, and in another video they can't say "punched" in the face. RU-vid will block out the word punch. RU-vid video example: yeah then the fucking guy ##bleeeep## me in the fucking face!" It's just so ridiculous and overbearing, it's almost NICE to feel like it's 2015 again, and u can say stupid shit in Ryan's streams and feel ur not offending anyone because people knew how to take a joke. But what you said is legit and true. This platform is SO ridiculous, that I'd HATE to see him lose his account or something stupid over being just who he is, and probably half of us when we talk shit w our buddies, just not dare say the British word for cigarette out loud in 2024, anytime anywhere, or you're a bigot. It's overbearing. My teenage son n his friends were getting in trouble at school for the SILLIEST shit on earth man, it was so crazy? Making a video directly to viewers that comment on your videos just doesn’t feel right to me and I think it adds fuel to the fire for more negativity from said people. Anything that doesn’t fall in that category obviously is open for people to like or comment on… but the list you made of the A+ positive commenters and the negative Nancy’s is giving bad elementary school teacher.

And that is because people feel comfort in hiding behind a simple username. Imo a public comment is no different from a public video and if you leave a public opinion, you should be open to criticism in any manner. I’ve seen him go out of his way for children and take zero credit and even tries to intentionally do nice things for people without recording or proof etc. he’s definitely a good dude. That’s why he should not allow others to bring him down. That’s why he should moderate better and have more oversight imo.

Not speaking for others but I think 99% of us if not 100% of us would save someone's life and not give a flying F about race or if they're straight bi Trans etc. We accept everyone the crazier the better because we all like to joke around and have fun. CP you almost have to behave because there's more kids their unless you go to a bar where you can publicly speak freely and openly to friends who are of all races and because you know them you throw jokes back and forth and accept them for who they are. I'm commenting on here because I've met CK go to his streams and he's as real as it gets. Everyone's community is built differently. If you don't know the culture of their community, don't say anything easy as that. CK is one of the nicest people in this community, and it's people like him who bring joy to others in their lives because they're going through depression. He helps small communities rise, and he donates too. Just because he donates doesn't justify it, but I can tell you the kids got a big muking heart, and he means we'll. On that note don't judge people because you don't know what they've been through in their life. A good majority of us come from some pretty dark places where we finally escaped and find support through our community. Lastly keep any drama in the DMs just how we should keep all drama out of CP. It'll ruin the experience for those who aren't deep down in this pokemon live stream community. I'm sure CK may not even agree with some of this sht I said and that's cool it's fine it's just my two sense. Don't target those you don't know. Personally I'm offended rattle targeted space daddy and ash because daddy's a goofball and you can't take him seriously he loves to joke around and talk sht for fun. I think he can stay true to who he is, doesn’t need to “apologize” and can fix this issue by simply being “More Aware”. This is the most absurd take. This idea that you're either racist/evil or not is a real 1950's perspective on racism, sexism, whatever. Racism, sexism, bigotry is not a light switch. As much as us white folks wanna pretend like it is so we can be "one of the good ones", sociologically it is not. Racism is, ultimately, what we do. Our bias. Our empathy. Our understanding of other cultures. Making racist jokes is racist. Does it make you "a racist"? IDK, people aren't just a one dimensional evil entity. We do good or bad things. We hurt people or we uplift people. Some people might find a comment racist or sexist, others may not. In general, I'm of the opinion that it really is a majority rules situation as to what comments are racist and what aren't. What needs to be apologized for and what doesn't. Referring to an Indian/Arabic guy as "Harold and Kumar" is probably gonna seem offensive to most Indian/Arabic folks. It's not nice. You shouldn't say it. It's racist. The idea that people can be so racist they're irredeemable is the flawed logic. Having that perspective is exactly why people don't have to take accountability for racist stuff if they "seem like a good guy". Racism is evil and therefore, anyone who does anything racist is evil- that's the flawed logic. Good people do racist things. Racism stems from ignorance. It stems from bias. It isn't necessarily something someone woke up and decided to do because they're a mustach twirling villain. It's something we are all capable of, and if we're white, we need to be extra careful of because white folks have extra power and influence that can cause more widespread damage, statistically. It's that simple. When you do something racist, you apologize and learn and people should give you the chance to be better. Not just write you off as some evil being. It's puritanical to pretend like you've never done anything racist or sexist before. We all have. White, black, woman, man- whatever. But who you are impacts the reach of that behavior. There are examples of irredeemable racism and sexism. Just don't think the every day law abiding citizen qualifies just because they do racist/sexist acts. Especially considering the culture we're all raised in. That being said- CTR isn't excused as "not being racist" just because he's not some evil genociding maniac and seems like a decent guy. He has to take accountability and apologize for hurting fans' feelings if he cares to be decent. I don't think it's decent to make racist jokes. Ethical relativism just isn't valid imo. You can excuse literally anything with it. But that doesn't mean everyone who does a racist thing is evil.

To say “No hate in the man’s soul” is an interesting take given the several thousand times he has stated “F Leonhart” and “F Mystic rips”. However I appreciate your take and appreciate you still supporting me. I’m just trying to look out for the man’s future growth and potential. And or lack there of if more and more videos arise.

I think alot of people think he has to be a certain way to be or maintain that popularity. But I think it’s the opposite actually. There are waaay more people out there that want to see him clean it up for several reasons then there are people subbed to him only because he’s “rated R”. The sheer amount of kids and parents that love him is astounding. And they would not go away if he changed. The adults who do like the edginess can still get that from him but also completely and reasonably understand if he eases off a little bit.

@@MimikBrew I think he can def go more pg-13 than R and still be successful, but not much lower than that. His literal intro is about drinking and/or smoking weed, has a bunch of penis/drug jokes for certain Pokemon, etc.. that just would change some of the “vibe” if he went away from that. But if you mean like minimizing the cussing, and modding the chat/superchats more, then yeah I can see that. I know I might be a little more of the exception cause I am familiar with Pokemon than many parents but I got an 8 year old kid who I let watch rev but would never let watch ctr, even if he cleaned his stuff up because the back catalogue is just so inappropriate for kids and once you watch one video it suggests older ones. And that’s an even worse case scenario for ctr.. he goes PG, then a parent sees/hears his old stuff, and he then really gets cancelled. For me I like that my son enjoys Pokemon and watches the PG creators, but I find them kinda boring, so I like to toss on a headphone and listen to a ctr stream while gaming or working or cleaning, etc.. but never for my kid to hear. I am actually somewhat alarmed at how many young kids know CTR and their parents allow it. All that being said, you’re actually in this space, and you can see the trends and analytics, so I am more inclined to consider your take on the impacts of him switching up than my own beliefs looking from the outside in.

Your take is very accurate. I’m very aware of early Ryan content, how he was pushed into and why he is the way he is. The problem is nobody who gets to the level he’s at now can get away with comments like that occurring on their channel for a reason. Too many eyes, too many opportunities to be offended. It’s 2024 now, same reason comedy movies haven’t been funny in 10 years.

@@MimikBrew Yeah it’s a weird position being in a community that’s crossed between millennial & gen z, that also has everything from gym-bros with tight shirts, to LGBT and everything inbetween. I will say as a father, I do think parents need to hold themselves accountable and do their due diligence before just clicking anything that says “pokemon” and dropping the screen in front of their child. Which is honestly a much different tangent and much more deep seated problem in society, being content moderation for children. I don’t think at this point him putting his pride to the side, would be a bad thing though. As much as I despise cancel culture and walking on egg shells, I think out of respect for Pat & Rev’s audience(which by default is now his audience), he needs to probably make a smart business decision and see that this issue will and already has probably grown into something that he needs to address. On the contrary I do think though after everything, there’s not much he can do to fix it. Even if he comes across as genuine and apologetic, the people who are upset are probably people who are prone to staying upset with you even after you say your peace. So regardless it’s dicey no matter what move he makes.

I completely understand that take. It would have certainly been waay easier to do just that. However we can probably agree it would have been far less impactful. Also addressing the comments related to it without addressing the actual drama itself would have also been less impactful. And my goal was to actually make something impactful. Not something that he could just easily dismiss. I do think my upload helps actually reduce the tension that was building. Unlike the other 3 videos that were highly incendiary.

@MimikBrew I did do my own research into the topic. The thing I can and will agree with is CTR should have told his chat and the people he was with to simmer down. I had a short exchange with blastoies on his comment section about it. And I'll say basically the same thing here. Blastoies corrected me and told me the one guy was persian. And the persian man was the person who kept the self delete bomber jokes going. The persian guy made the Indian stereo type voice joke. Ryan laughed. It was the Korean who said the comment about the "japs" witch like I said there if you know anything about Korean history thoses two groups of people do not get along at all. Alot of bad blood there. Do I like ctr no. I do not like his intro I think it's dumb and childish especially in the tradeing card hobby. Do I think people should call him raceist for laughing at thoses jokes? No. Do I think the chat should have been going on the way they where no. But the 2 guys who where not white kept it going they leaned into it. It's alot of people being 3rd party offended.

And there are clearly times that both of them physically look uncomfortable and honestly there’s a point where Goatedpullz looks over at Ryan in “imo” disgust after the way Ryan responds to a joke.
