Do this BEFORE you drop your cellphone in the lake! I’ve had this happen twice; I find a phone at the bottom of the lake, and it has the owner’s ID attached. This is a pretty cool idea! The cellphone is probably toast, but if it is found by someone and returned, you at least have the product so you can claim replacement insurance (many providers require the phone before in-hand before an insurance claim can proceed).
In addition to the phone, I find some other interesting stuff. Plus, it was a beautiful view above the water with the Autumn leaves enhancing the lake!
