Great video brother! I'm disgusted by some of the racially charged comments. I personally think the length is perfect because you use it effectively. Keep up the great work.
a classic scent. Brings back nostalgic memories from the 80s & 90s for me. I still consider it a work horse with decent performance. The scent may not attract the new generation but for oldies like me who grew up smelling these type of scents..it is just unforgettable .. Thanks for the great review.
I am clueless how you rated nautica voyage a 10 and cool water a 6. Truly baffles me, the only thing I've ever questioned with your reviews. to each thier own though. Thanks
Hey there! I think this review was near 5 years ago for me, so i'm trying to put myself into 5 year ago me. I think it would probably have to do with the longevity issues. I don't put as much of an emphasis on longevity now, so it would probably get a 7 or 8 to me if I was to re-review.
I wore this on my high school graduation back in 1989. I kind you not, the entire auditorium smelled like cool water LoL. EVERYONE was banging the cool water on graduation day here in Southern California
I wouldn't even put my nose to Cool Water for 30 minutes after I applied it. The immediate scent hits you like a brick through a plate-glass window. A half hour later. Everyone references the lavender. Where I live lavendar is everwhere and this is not like any lavendar I've ever smelled. As far as application goes, I find a quick spritz on each wrist (from about a foot away) is more than enough. A final note: one would not expect a $300 off-the-rack Ralph Lauren suit, however well tailored, to fit like a bespoke suit for $1,500 from Alton Lane. Given Cool water's price tag of $22.00, it simply doesn't make sense to compare it to Green Irish Tweed.
Wore Cool Water from the time it came out till around 93. It's a great inexpensive and accessible fragrance. I've been wearing GIT for 5 years now and to me it's a step up in quality, scent, and it was the originator. In my opinion GIT is for those that love the smell of Cool Water, but want a superior version of it.
damn man. You really know your scents!! I've been wearing cool water since High School for the simple reason that I get more compliments from it than I do over any other cologne that I wear.
For me personally, this cologne is very underwhelming. Good for an after shower/before bed cologne. Not so much for looking to impress. Better used on clothes than skin for much better projection, in my experience
Had this in the 90's when in it was in season. Bought it again few days ago and wow brought back many memories. I really like spraying just once on my chest where it mixes with my shirt and is at its best in about 1-2 hours
@dracdoc The point was the general population has far easier access to Coolwater than GIT. Not everyone has a Creed Boutique or Bergdorff down the street from their house.
@ESCOadrian92 Me Too. I get 8-10 hours from 4-5 sprays Cool Water. I Think people are too rough on this to be honest. Sort of a snob factor comes into play among frag heads because it is a knock off of Freshman and GIT ;) I will give Cool Water an 8.5/10 - I love this scent. I still prefer Chanel Platinum-Egoiste over Cool Water as my fresh metallic scent, but Cool Water is right there behind it !
This was my first fragrance ever.I got into the fragrance game really early. My sister used to work for lancome so she would always get me fragrances and give me advice. Got this one in 7th grade :) I was also the only person in my high school that wore platinum egoiste,or even knew what it was. When other's were rockin tommy and polo sport I was getting chanel dropshipped to my door, expensive but worth it.... sooo many compliments back then haha. Great review!
Just bought this , not bad ! When would you recommend wearing this instead of Acqua Di Gio ? I have both and they're both summer fragrances , don't know which one to wear.
@VikingShaver I agree. This fragrance is pretty good. I wear it a lot and I have no problems with longevity. I know some people claim it doesn't last on their skin, but it's a good fragrance regardless. I'd give it a 9 because I love fresh scents.
Great informative video. I have a question: What would you suggest in the way of a sophisticated scent, something for a job interview? Perhaps even something classy, distinguished. Get what I mean?
@LV924 Right. And at no point in the video, do i tell you to go buy a 250$ fragrance to find out what its like. Now, at 8:04 I correct myself and say Green Irish Tweed, instead of coolwater. I was talking about how Sharp cool water is.. and compared it to the smoothness of GIT. So what it should have been was "If you have not smelled Green Irish Tweed, try smelling Green Irish tweed to see what I mean" That's why I said "Im sorry, Green Irish Tweed". Clear?
Really liked your review as I just received this for Christmas, I also received the David Beckham instinct gold- do you know and thing about that fragrance?
100th like from me! Nice review! I have this one of course, like it a lot. Even though I keep dreaming about kinda eau de parfum version, with real lavender essential oil and better presentation..) I mean, Armani did essenza, I think Davidoff could do the same trick and get even more sales!
I took a poll on my Facebook page. Cool Water seemed to be the most popular men's cologne. But most of my friends probably shop at Walmart and are not too concerned about making major cologne purchases. I will probably purchase a small bottle of Cool Water in the future. CK One used to be my favorite. But sort of tired of it. Looking for something different.
@dracdoc If I had no idea what either smelled like, by what u said I'd have to drive 2.5 hrs to NYC to try GIT so I could find out what CW smells like, when i could do that by driving to macys 15 min.
cool water has always been my favorite. I have tried many others like le male, ck eternity for men ect ect. always came back to cool water. never tried green irish tweed though. will have to give that a shot
The Cool Water fragrance lines made by Davidoff is by far the most consistently loved and used fragrances of all times. The Davidoff cool water sea rose summer seas edt 100ml is a glorious member of that collection. The fragrance is a citrus floral fragrance which wears crisp, clean and flawlessly. The fragrance is an Eau De Toilette and can be re-applied during the day without worrying it to be over-powering. Compare Duty free prices at www.dutyfree.buzz/
@LV924 Sorry, that confused me because at 8:06 to 8:08 , that's what the correction was covering :) I mistakenly said Coolwater and 8:06 to 8:08 was the attempt to rectify it.
@dracdoc One wouldn't need access to GIT as this is a Coolwater review, thats the point. If they r curious about coolwater they drive to the nearest perfume store of ANY kind n try it.
ok.... i will try the blvgare aqua marine...... where dod u get ur cologne from...... ive been trying to find l'instant de guerlain for a good while now... but im unable to..... Also what do u think of L'instant de guerlain as a winter cologne vs say YSL la nuit de L'homme?
@LV924 Last I checked, you don't need to purchase the fragrance to try it. Head to a Creed Boutique, Bergdorffs or anyplace that has Creeds, spray it on and viola. Free!
My mother was friends with the professor that made it. She has tons of his original bottles upstairs I would like to try them but I'd rather keep them mint.
I just got it and tbh everything seems to have longevity issues these days, even my versace and gucci don't last as long as people say they do and they're 100% authentic.
dracdoc They usually can for a little while but after about 4-5 hours they have to be inches from me to smell it for the versace. The gucci is about 3-4 hours but I've been told they should last 6-7 hours minimum. I think I may of gotten a old batch that is well past it's shelf life but that's what happens when you're only paying a third of the price online lol.
im a newbie to the cologne game.... i want to try an aquatic fragrance.... its a tossup between eau de fraiche, cool water, versace pour homme, nautica voyage.... scents like those..... what do you recommend... even bvlgari aqua?
I work in a restaurant. Hot, bumping into people, and Someone's always in my bubble (women). Thoughts on Cool water , Tommy , or Nautica Voyage? I'm 30. I don't really want to project. Low key if you get what I'm saying
i just bought a clone of cool water from BIG LOTS! called "cool ocean" it does smell alot like cool water for the most part and only paid $3.59 for 3.3oz.
I really enjoyed your video. Very assertive and natural. Big compliments to you, your english is very good. I like the fact that u don't use slang or ghetto language, but stick to your point of view, facts and details. I think the ladies also find that part about you very attractive.
Kevin Prince I know plenty of dark skinned people who don't speak in ebonics. This comment had good intentions but is incredibly ignorant. You may as well go ahead and say "I'm prejudiced towards black people"
I smelled and loved it! It hung on to my skin into the next day. Am not sure how much it projects. I didn't spray allot of it. A girl I didn't know smelled me on a train ride home this summer. When she got up to leave for her stop. She turned to me and said, You smell good. What I said?? I forgot what I had on.... Then when I got home, it came back to me... Night Dive! {You need a thorough review from the experts here.NICOLAS THEOPHANOUS
great review! this one used to be my sig scent until 5 or 6years ago. it's still one of my fav's. but either my nose has evolved or it doesn't smell the same to me. i have heard that it was reformulated sadly, but has anyone tried the truefitt & hill freshman? thanks
Hey! I’m a new-ish teacher that’s looking to start wearing a cologne, but I don’t want something overpowering that will be off putting to my students and other teachers. Can you recommend anything good to wear daily that would be soft enough to wear to school but still has a pleasant fragrance?
what aquatic would you recommend. im on the fence about eternity aqua but ive heard there are better. which have you gotten more compliments on, what do woman find most attractive etc.?
I'm getting this fragrance in about 2 days (just in time for the new year). Anybody knows a discount online store? I know a couple that sell really authentic colognes, and I will share them.
Hey dracdoc i know it might not be your type of fragrance but could you do a review on Davidoff's "Cool Water Game" and not "The Game" I really would love to hear your opinions on it before purchase another bottle. I actually liked it a lot in spring through Autumn. What's your take?
Well.. there are different interpretations of aquatic around. I think something closer to a "true" aquatic may remind you of seawater or the ocean. Try Blvgari Aqua Marine
