Well, you can't really see through them for the most part so I would say yes.

Do you know the distace from the curtain to the outside of the mount on both sides? I have to install these right next to each other since my opening is too wide for one. I dont know if they compensate for the brackets, or if i need to. Thanks!

The shades a extremely durable. They are a good value product. I've had mine for a long time.

They do a good job in holding the rain back but that's not their purpose. They are for shade.

I filmed the video with my phone. You'd need to use both hands to raise and lower the shades with the long handles provided.
