Our custom wood front door faces west, the sun beat it to death. We installed a Cooleroo and refinished the door. The finish job is holding up great now. And, the heat infiltration was lowered and our electric bill went down!
I put two of them up on our back porch a few years ago. They had to be custom built for our length. $$ They do a great job of lowering the temp on the back of the house against the afternoon sun. Privacy is also nice.
Yes, phillips screws. The drill bit used for will be determined by the screw and material you're installing it on. I used some deck screws and in a couple of locations used nylon screw anchors.
I want to install a few hooks under the eave to hang the sun shade so that the shade has some distance away from the exterior way and can prevent the wall being directly heated by the sun. Where should I possibly mount the hooks? Right under the rafter? Thanks
Good vid. At 1:24 you show the crank/bracket which attaches to the wood above. My wood is 7" x 1 1/2", so the bottom face is 1 1/2". Will that be enough to attach the crank/bracket ? (I can't tell how the poles would fit if the crank/bracket was attached on the wider 7" side.)
Hi Rusty, I see by the video date that you have had the shade approx.1 1/2 years.. How is it holding up ? I just purchased 2 coolaroo’s today and hoping I get quite a few years out of them... Thank you for the video 👍🏻
They still work great. I leave one down about half way to shade the hot tub from the evening sun and still looking and working too. Good luck and enjoy yours
Hey Man. I saw you over at my Buddy's channel Dan's Garage so I thought I would drop over and see what you have going on. I like what I see so I subbed you. Drop over to the Dog House for a visit. Thanks for sharing.👍👍🍁
