Where to buy:
►Cooler Master TEMPEST GP27U: geni.us/ol5Nt
With specifications perfect for both the working professional as well as the hardcore gamer, the Tempest GP27U is a true do-it-all monitor. Equipped with a 3840 x 2160 resolution panel that covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum, and boasts 160Hz refresh rate with a 1 ms response time, this monitor can be the perfect centerpiece to your work and play setup. Thanks to MiniLED technology, local dimming zones are even smaller and more granular than ever before. With local dimming activated you can obtain extraordinary HDR performance with a contrast ratio of 50,000:1.
Using a quantum-dot enhancement film, colors are more vibrant and can emit an even more precise amount of light, leading to stronger color reproduction and wider color gamut, making it perfect for color accurate work. MiniLED's improved display technology brightens whites and darkens blacks for an HDR picture that has an unprecedented level of picture quality. The Tempest GP27U can reach 600 nits of peak brightness in SDR mode, or 1200 nits in HDR mode. This is how MiniLED shows all your favorite content in a whole new light.

As an owner of this exact monitor since its initial launch, I’m very happy with its performance, colour accuracy, brightness, HDR playback, gaming image quality etc. Until 4K 300+hz monitors and gpus are able to perform at this frame rate, this monitor is my “end game” monitor for gaming and video production needs. I got mine for recommended retail price RRP / MSRP here in Australia 🇦🇺 plus local taxes and it’s worth its money imo. I did have the original bios and did upgrade it to the newer bios from earlier this year and it fixed a couple locked monitor settings (which works) and supposedly corrected a couple minor performance issues that I never experienced tbh.

Hey there from across the ditch. What version BIOS are you on now? I saw a video of updating it to 1.4.1, which seems a lot of updates from the initial BIOS it originally came with. Do you experience any of the flickering talked about?

Just a quick note, for me to get the advertised 160hz refresh rate on this monitor you need to use the DisplayPort connector. With the hdmi connector you’re limited to 144hz

This is a given considering you can't overclock HDMI

I found it for €650 and then everything else I found was around €800-900. But still cheaper than G7 I have which is around €900-1.000 and doesn’t have miniLED or Quantum Dot and can’t go up to 160Hz.
