We are going to see if your RV air-conditioning will cool your unit in the most extreme temperatures. At one point it gets to 114 degrees outside and 108 degrees inside.

Awesome video! Thank you. I just installed a second AC on my 2019 Image and was wondering how it would do. Like the fan idea to help circulate. I also installed an RV Airflow system in the main AC unit and it really helped when I had just a single unit. I live in Yuma so we feel your pain! 👍🏼

I have a 98 Thor Tahoe with a single 13.5K, I live in Las Vegas 110F and I can get my RV to 77F. New RV's are crap

20* temperature difference is what the manufacturer will guarantee. There are many variables that go into conditioning air. Humidity, how tight the space is you are conditioning, and equipment size are included in that. Latent heat is the biggest variable. In the case of an rv, I would imagine that their leaky nature and lack of insulation would prove to be the biggest obstacles. Great video.

Wife and I are planning of fulltime RV next year, and this was one of our questions, if RVs are able to handle both hot and cold weather, this perfectly explains it, we're planning on a bigger Rv with 3 units, also keeping the RV units running constantly I think will help. Thanks for the video!!

Nice video yall. Two ACs are pretty much a must have here in East Texas area, the humidity is what gets us. 😓

When people are talking about only a 20° difference I believe they’re talking about RVs that were built a number of years ago and or RVs that have one AC unit for something over 25 feet long.

Thanks for sharing. 2 a/c units are definitely needed in the 100+ temps. I have a similar size RV with only a single 15k ac and it struggles to keep the RV 20-23F cooler than ambient when it is triple digits with humidity outside. It’s a 2016 jayco eagle 314BHDS

Yes it will cool. We are full time in a 40' jayco fifthwheel. It works the crap out of the roof units. Some things you can do. Reflectics in windows facing south and west. I have 2 window units in to reduce work of roof units this also will reduce the power bill. Next is to shade your roof units. There are several shading products out there. Putting a shaded air barrier between the units and direct Sun will reduce the work of the units and allow to cool more efficiently. Good video just thought would add some more tips I've learned.

Thank you for the tips. I did paint my AC covers white to help reduce the heat.

Great video! another ting to take into consideration, you were cooling from ambient temps, if you were staying in it and was precooled, it probably would've not been quite so bad

Excellent. I just wish you were able to demonstrate what those onboard propane generators can do if you dont have shore power with all that amperage.

Whether your air conditioners are ducted or not running a fan to circulate The air will help greatly to cool down the surfaces on the inside of the RV, where there are hotspots and cool them down.

Just bought a 32 foot trailer and it only has one 13.5 k btu ac unit. So far its gotten up to 84 degrees on a 107 degree day. It gets up to 115° where im at so it could very well get uo to 90° inside the rv . Forest River are some cheap bastards. Had i known it needed one 15k btu minimum if not two acs id of never bought the thing. Did they think it never gets over 100°?

Same! Would have gone with 2 ac’s. I have a 2023 keystone passport 31ft & at 115F & under shade it was able to only maintain 83 degree

Difference in cool air temp is front has to run thru duct with that hot sun beating on that roof and no insulation in that roof I have the same system it sucks. It's ok to run it like that if your in a pay per day camp ground but I like in mine and doing what your doing will get you a $300 elec bill.

Great video! I have a 2018 GD 2600RB with a single Dometic 15K AC and last summer it was 105* w/ 80% humidity and had no issues maintaining 70* for 2wks staright. I will say that my electric bill went up a little over $100 that month. What weather monitor are you using...looks pretty cool and provides lots of info.
