Thanks for making this video, House OF CULTURE! ! R.I.P. COOLIO ! I still from time to time groove to "GANGSTA'S PARADISE ". This song I sang a lot back in 1995 because I was a 24 yr. old junkie and Crackhead.. So, Coolio's lyrics, especially the 1st line resonated with me,"As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I take a look at my life and realize there's nothing left...." Addiction made me a slave and I lost everything!Including, my son (5 yrs old at the time) and my daughter (3 yrs old at the time). "Death ain't nothin' but a heartbeat away..." "I'm 23 now but will I live to see 24. The way things are goin' I don't know.." "If THEY can't understand, how can THEY reach me..." POWERFUL LYRICS! I THANK COOLIO FOR THIS GIFT!This song has a very sentimental value to me. I have been in recovery from Crack and heroin since 2004;alcohol since 2011. I SHOULD'VE BEEN DEAD YEEEARS AGO! GOD was definitely watching over me! Now,my mission is to help those strugglin' with addiction/ alcoholism. May Coolio have a FANTASTIC VOYAGE TO THE GANGSTA'S PARADISE IN HEAVEN. SHAKA ZULU! ✌😥
Amen, sister. You keep rocking. I can also relate and bless God everyday is what we need to do more with ppl and just know we're all here for each other ❤️
@user-ik3ql5bk8g Thank you for your reply! I think alot of people in this world have lost their humanity, kindness, compassion, empathy and common sense when it comes to certain things. WE need to be the light to diminish the darkness in this world.
Sick video! I feel like coolio kinda like did a "Nas", in the sense that their first breakthrough would be some of their best work, and they had to work really hard throughout the entirety of their career to ever try and top it
What’s sad about that? You can’t keep releasing a top track in conjunction with a box office smash movie - that kind of impact can’t be duplicated. Sounds like he kept being creative and stayed functional and true. That’s success in my book. Thanks for sharing though brother.
I grew up listening to the likes of Luniz Lost Boyz Tupac Shakur Christopher Latore George Wallace ie Biggie Smalls Dre Snoop Dogg Ice Cube etc by Steve Irungu Jermaine
dude has great vision, solid artistic talent and excellent work ethic for hipop but man did he tried too hard and put too much on himself to take on every evils in his life. indeed respect his true good character but the story is nevertheless a tragic life.
It's so obvious where he went wrong. He should have made an ENTIRE album produced by Doug Rasheed! that and had a couple of Timber remixes on the singles and that could've been Coolio's formula for the next 3 albums! He didn't do the obvious thing and his career dropped off the map
