🤣 Coon has a very different meaning here. A bit of a old school now days. It cracks me up every time thinking you can't say that now days, I know it's not the same meaning. Southern chaps talking about hunting them, trapping them, stealing your feed 🤣 Hunting them was banned in Australia in 1973 1840 treaty was probably the final cut off point in NZ We don't have racoons here.
We wrapped barbed wire on the legs cuz coons have sensitive paws & we got that idea from planting cukes in our sweet corn patch all around the 24 x 24 corn patch which helped with coon issue. Worx for us………
I tried something similar to that and it didn't work. Have you ever used shark teeth? If you have please let me know I'm thinking about using that next. Thanks Ron self
@@bamagot13 thank you. Ive been having problems with coons just now on my boss buck. Raking out protein onto ground. Im gunna do this. Almost bought the shark teeth strips but a lot of bad reviews.
@@davidfinigan4565 Yes. My feeders are the Moultrie standard feeders with the square metal legs. Tons of squirrels and raccoons where I have the feeders. Whenever I fill the feeder I apply a fresh "coat" of Vaseline. I bring paper towels to get most of the old stuff off first and then just smear the new stuff over. The scent doesn't affect the deer in the least. I have used that method for 5 years now and it works. A little messy but I just remember to bring disposable gloves. If I get lazy and neglect the Vaseline it will break down and then, sure enough, I will have pics on the trail camera of a squirrel or raccoon hanging from the motor. I heard that Cayenne pepper mixed in works as well, but I tried that a few times and it blew in my eyes! LOL.
