All the Pistons had to start with was a washed up Blake and DRose - there's only so much that's going to get you.

i'm sorry but Cooper Flagg is no Tim Duncan. It's not about just already being really good, being really bad due to injuries for one year and lucking into the #1 overall pick, you have to have all those factors line up AND have it be a generational talent like Duncan obviously was at the time. This is why a few of us old-timers were a bit.....miffed.....that somehow the Spurs had this happen again last year (i'm not as sure this time, he's super tall and talented but Duncan was solid, less chance of injury and just THE technical master was Duncan, a machine on both ends.) It makes one suspicious of the lottery process sometimes.
