He doesn’t shoot like Klay but Klay is textbook. People should wish they had a textbook J like Klay. People just dogged him out when he shot a low of 38% from 3 while getting 18 a game and the only pure shooter that most people have seen in real time for many decades that did it while being an elite defender. Even today he’ll take on the challenge of defending multiple positions which no pure great shooters coming into the league ever do. He’s still a better 2way player than some dudes going to allstar games. Too many people (no one specifically) make the mistake of comparing a player to their own self which has nothing to do with what he or anyone brings to the table. There’s hoop people and less saying a 6’7 dude who competes on D, will guard multiple positions, is a sniper for life that can get you 18 a game and shoot near 40% from 3 and people rag on that. You can tell who either has never been a shooter and/or definitely wasn’t a shooter and good or great in defense. People would rag on Klay before the injuries. “Why is Klay off tonight”, Me: Maybe because he’s also playing elite D guarding his man, bigger men, and chasing Steph’s man for him. A career 42% 3pt shooter who guards the weak link on defense, and has someone guarding his man is not a better 3pt shooter who shoots 41% while taking on all challenges on defense while being elite but people complain about defense while they show no respect for defense. No one can ever make a valid case in hoop of how shooting getting hid on defense is no different than shooting and going hard on D but there’s millions who buy it in what they speak. That’s more energy and more on the legs. While Klay is older then the injuries which are legit to speak on but I’ve never heard a single expert, nba players, ex-nba, media personalities, people that hooped on high levels, people that know the game or whoever add “yeah and the toll of playing elite D most of his career guarding multiple positions”. I’d love to hear or see someone try to prove that doesn’t matter. Especially cause that means whoever tries to justify couldn’t possibly have been good on both ends. Imagine Klay’s shooting if he were hid on D his whole career and had somebody guarding his man for him. His shooting gets better not worse. Now if his teammate took on the challenge of defending the like size guys he should be guarding not even as an elite defender but really got after it of course his shooting will suffer. He’d still be who he is but you don’t shooter better exerting more on D regularly. That’s like Dillon Brooks had more O and J in college. He’s had moments you can see but of course his J takes a hit with how hard he goes on D. Steph still maintains the principles of a textbook shooter even realeasing from different points but if someone said show me how to shoot textbook with either Steph or Klay’s shot it would be Klay’s
Dudes a straight monster his bag is unlimited literally how ever you want it you want em to shoot 3s , you want him to drive to the lane or set screens and switch the defense up and take the mismatch , you want him to get 10 blocks you want 20 rebounds you want em in the post literally the nba better get they lunch box ready this kid is some special
I feek like he'll be better with his size now instead getting taller and having a more skinnier frame. Because rn he has a good build for a 16 yo and can alwahs get stronger too
@@BasketBloxBrosi mean he’s got a good frame, 6’9 200 at 16!!! by the time he’s in the nba if he can hit 225 of pure muscle, i’d like to compare him to KD cause of the way he handles the ball, i don’t like the LB comparisons at ALL.
Plenty of white players that can play good ball in the NBA, especially in the last 5 years or so, and they are athletic, more will be in the NBA shortly, white players been balling lately.
He’s a more athletic Christian Laettner with handles and a better jumper in my opinion. He should go to Duke and bring that program back to prominence‼️💯
Cooper Flagg is special but people thinking he’s the only one aren’t watching. The talent multiplies and these guys are ahead of allstars and hall of famers at that same age. The problem which many still haven’t noticed means way more talent will stop a lot of players who could be great from reaching their max as players and soon 1-12 will be deep in every team. I’ve seen guys ahead of Kawhi in hs but opportunity is more key than having major game. Flagg won’t have to worry about that Ace Bailey who won’t have to worry is right there with Flagg but gets lowballed. Regardless it’s not the defense in the nba it’s more talent than ever and while people ignore or can’t see there’s more 2way perimeter players in the league than ever by far there’s more coming like Flagg playiny both ends.
Bruh you guys are young. If this kid ran into grant hill, anfernee hardaway, or tmac at the same age u wouldn’t be talking about “never has there been a 16 year old blah blah “😂
Lebron was essentially nba ready at 16. This kid is really good, but let's pump the brakes a little with the Lebron comparison. Cooper's athleticism is really good. Lebron's was off the charts.
