The 2025 Draft class will be historically good... There are at least 5 guys from next years class that would've went #1 overall this year if they had been eligible. Cooper Flagg dominating the USA Men's team, VJ Edgecombe put on a show for the Bahamas in the Olympic Qualifiers. Then you've got Ace Bailey, Dylan Harper and Nolan Traore from France. And that isn't even including others like Khaman Maluach a 7'2 center from South Sudan that is heading to Duke along with Flagg next year. He is a super raw talent but his potential is extraordinary and we're going to see him at the Olympics too. Long story short... That is why teams are tanking for the 2025 draft; not only is there a generational prospect at #1 there are a handful of others that will be incredible NBA players as well

Offhand, I can only think of one case where "tanking" set a team up for a huge future. That's when the Spurs managed to get Tim Duncan. BUT, there's a reason why I put quotes around the word "Tanking". The Spurs had a bleep-ton of injuries the season before and finished last. I think they set a record that year for number of player/games missed. Of course, the question: How many of those injuries were bad enough to keep players off the floor? Did they extend the injured guys' time on the IL to make it harder to win with what they had left? If so, did they start extending the IL time early in the season, or did they only do that kind of thing right near the end? Or did they just have horrible injury luck and finish last while trying to win? My guess is... We'll never know.

Top end of this past year's draft was blah, but I think it will prove to be a deep draft overall. There was some good talent going well through the 2nd round.
