I had a set on my last F250. They were not the XLT, but the only difference is the sidewall. I got 70,000 miles out of them.

I went with these 285/75-17 on my Toyota Tundra double cab 4x4... They are excellent. Pulling our 27ft camper, at the huntin club, or just cruisin on the highway.. I LOVE THEM!!!

I have a set of XLT's on my '15 Ram 2500. I also frequently pull our 11,000lb 5th wheel. As far as traction and stability, they are outstanding, I have 0 complaints about how they handle or perform. I have 16k miles on them and they are at about 50% of their tread life. I'm guessing Ill get to around 35k miles out of them. 40k would be outstanding but I'm not holding my breath. Either way, Ill definitely be buying another set when these are done.

A fiend of mine swears by Cooper tires. I've always bought Goodyear. I have my tires rotated with every oil change. 60,000 mile warranty is really nice. Great video. Thanks for sharing.

Nice review and I would echo your experience with my own. I too own a Ram 2500 diesel crew cab short box pickup and I pull a 30 foot, 10K lb GVWR fifth wheel trailer. I run a set of Cooper Discover AT3 XLT tires that were rotated every 7-8,000 miles. The tires have 52k miles on them as of today with 7-8/32 of tire tread depth remaining. I've never had a single problem with these tires. The only reason I'm planning to switch them out for another set of the same Coopers is winter is coming on here in MT and I want a deeper tread depth to get me thru the expected snow.

Ran coppers for many years, decent tire, doesn't get traction once they reach half tread. Put Toyo open country AT3 load range E on my dodge 2500 diesel and they are great, hands down better and they are almost the same price. There quite, great on the road and wet roads and rip it in snow. My fuel millage went up a little and the side walls are very nice and stiff,, no roll. Great tire

You said you ran Coopers. Was it the AT3 XLT and do you still like the Toyo?

Thanks for watching. I’m needing to do an update but I’ll probably wait until after my 4K mile trip next month with my camper. They seem to be holding up fine. Still quiet and a comfortable ride.

Good review. I will second your take on these tires. I don’t normally post … but have been very happy with my Cooper tires. I have a long box version of the same truck… I bought the same tire size after seeing another good review online. It’s been over a year…. I just got them rotated yesterday. I think I am around 15K miles. Can’t recall the tread depth measurement, but they are holding up well. They are quite, provide good traction, good durability and they look like a truck tire… what more could you want for a tow rig? We have a number of miles pulling a 10K+ travel trailer including long stretches of gravel and primitive roads and they are holding up great… better than the old BFG KO I had on my previous truck. I dropped the pressure in the rear to see if it rides any better when not towing just to see. 50K+ and I am more than happy with these tires… 60K… might be pushing it… but we will see. Fingers crossed. I like the winch tray…. Might have to add that to my list next.

I get a lot of comments on the winch tray, I need to do a review on it. It’s been great, I really wanted an off-road bumper but couldn’t spend that much

Next time I'll check those out for my 2011 F350. I went with exo grapplers (think that's what they are called). Those ones look like they would not cause a lot of road noise which is great for long trips.

These seem quiet, but truthfully truck is obnoxiously loud, so I probably couldn't tell either way.

Do you have a video on the winch setup you have on the front of your truck? What brand is the winch mount?
@GimpyCamper
@GimpyCamper 3 года назад
No I don’t have a video but it’s the Westin max winch tray. I really wanted an off rd bumper but I just couldn’t pay $1200. I’ve had 2 of these, they just bolt on, hardest part is getting to the bolts... I then had a friend tack weld the ones that are accessible Westin 46-23555 MAX Winch Mount Tray www.amazon.com/dp/B008SBW8AI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_K6.0FbXYYPMQX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

@@GimpyCamper Thank you for the info was thinking of adding a winch to my 2 wheel drive dually. Do most highway driving with highway tires. Pull a camper and some times get on dirt roads and when it is raining the highway tires just spin in the mud.

I’ve got somewhere around 9k miles on them. Got to schedule a rotation, then I was going to measure tread depth and such. In September I’m putting 4K miles on them so we’ll see. They did great from TN to MI to Chicago and back to TN
