Professionalism is a required trait when working as a public servant. Unfortunately, there are instances where law enforcement officers forget that they work for the people, not above them. Welcome back to my channel, San Joaquin Junior. In a recent incident in Nova Scotia, Canada captured by Jason Pouliot, Constable Brown of the Truro police department pulled over Jason for a suspected speeding violation. Initially intending to be cooperative, Jason's encounter with Constable Brown escalated when the officer reached for his firearm, causing frustration and leading Jason to assert his rights. During the exchange, Jason requested to see the radar gun evidence of his alleged speeding, which Constable Brown failed to provide. The situation intensified as Constable Brown threatened to forcibly remove Jason from his vehicle for non-compliance, prompting Jason to assert his right to defend himself.

That guy is a huge goofball overacting for the camera. He's surprised the cop almost drew on him after he just got done saying he'll defend himself and then reaches for the exact spot where a weapon would sit. The cop had good reflexes as far as I'm concerned.

You can tell the cop is a liar and messes with people just to ruin their day by giving them a ticket that didn't happen. Totally agree. I was thinking the exact same thing watching this video. Most cops know they can intimidate us to get what they want. This guy showed the blueprint of how to hold your ground legally. Now we just need lots more people to do the same thing.

If this is the standard for getting fired, we’d lose over 50% of our police force nationwide. It’s quite literally a nationally security threat to only require law abiding citizens to be police. That is why for a century they have had qualified immunity which is the only form of sovereign citizenship that exists.

@@patrickwilliams6464 actually yes. The Supreme Court has ruled that Cops are allowed to lie during an investigation. The second He/She asks a question, any question, it's an investigation. You therefore have to start with the belief that they're probably lying as soon as they open their mouths. However, even though THEY are allowed to lie to you, I'm not aware of any requirement for you to believe them.

Unfortunately, while I agree, it is not that simple as they are told not to undermine each other in the presence of a "suspect".' The law is about obtaining truth and coming to the right conclusion in court, but that is not the same for an LEO, they make accusations, but while it should be innocent until proven guilty, they assume guilt and treat you that way.

This is such a sick society. He almost got shot for what? Driving his car like a normal person. We need to remove these laws that can turn nothing into a crime. Everyone is guilty of speeding so if everyone does it than it shouldnt be a crime. It needs to be drasticlly above a limit to a point that its unsafe to do so. The 55 mph limit was made by asking people what speed they felt unsafe at. It is an arbitrary limit. Modern cars can drive much faster and still maintain complete control.

That is why we have juries. At least in the US. We have the right to a jury trial for any criminal charge in my particular state. Even for a traffic citation. If more people would exercise their right to a jury trial and the juries would just do their job and say -we cannot find justice in fining this guy X dollars when the cop treated him badly and he was driving the same speed as traffic" then the prosectors would get the idea they shouldn't be bringing this kind of trash to court and very quickly the word would get to the police to get their shit in order. But as long as people bend over and "just pay the ticket because it's easier than fighting it", this will go on forever.

@@pcalna3202 Thats idealistic. In reality the cops press false charges on citizens regularly to meet internal quotas for revenue. It got so bad at one time that Congress had to put laws in place to limit a cities income from tickets to like 15-20%. I might be different i cant remember exactly off the top of my head. There are still places you can pass through that have over 60% of their income from "Tickets" and it takes literal YEARS for anything to be done. If anything ever even happens.

I don't know about it in Canada but in the United States you have to be speeding well above the speed limit for it to be considered criminal. Minoe speed9ng violations in the United States are considered a civil infraction and not a crime

@@willlawson6126 Not "in the United States". It absolutely is defined at the state level and varies from state to state. In Illinois for example ANY speeding ticket can be fought in court and a jury demanded. It is still a petty offense until 25 over, but, even at 3 over the limit you can still go to court, fight it with a lawyer if you want, and demand a jury if you want. Smart people do this. In this state going 25+ over becomes a misdemeanor and then you *better* get a jury. But yes even charged with a routine "11 over" ticket you are entitled to a jury trial here. As it should be, in my humble opinion. It's too bad more people don't spend the money to fight it because it would cut down on the highway piracy and policing for profit. Unfortunately to get a jury we do have to pay a small extra fee as part of court costs. I'm not sure if you can ever get that back, even if you win. Also in Illinois, some circuit courts charge you (~$100) to file your answer to a complaint in small claims court! Let that sink in: someone accuses you of something and for the privilege of claiming you're not liable, you have to pay the court. And if you don't answer.... chances very high you lose by default. 🤷🏻‍♂️You win some you lose some. This state is crazy in a lot of ways--that "pay to answer a complaint" fee is only in *certain* trial courts and not others. Total decision of the chief judge of that circuit.🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ But on a speeding ticket we have all the rights of a defendant charged with capital murder.

Constable Brown is another unprofessional officer who escalated the encounter with his unecessary rude, belligerent attitude and inability to treat people with respect. File a complaint on officer Brown and if he lied about your speed or failed to stop the vehicle behind and in front of you that were traveling at the same speed as you, then challenge it in court and if successful in having the charge dismissed, file a law suit on him for malicious prosecution.

Best narration and narrative voice on RU-vid hands down. I love the channel, and I'm always impressed by the quality of the content this channel has to offer! Many men have tried to follow in their fathers footsteps, and even more have made a shameless attempt to profit off of their fathers accomplishments and/or following, even when they personally had nothing whatsoever to offer. This is certainly not the case here! You've done an amazing job, and your narration and commentary is better than anywhere else on RU-vid. Your videos are always top notch, and the quality of your content is consistent, unlike so many RU-vidrs, who seem more concerned with providing more content, with no regard for the quality of said content. In case people didn't catch it, this is CANADA (It's in the Description and he was accused of going "71 kilometers" per hour. Canada cops have started going the same direction as US cops - compliance to their demands and officer safety are ALWAYS the ONLY considerations they have. The only thing, I think, Jason could have done better is to **not engage** with the backup that arrnved and concentrated SOLELY on calming Jason down and DEFLECTING from addressing Brown's behavior.

Driver is 100% wrong! PD made legal traffic stop, driver is not entitled to evidence at the scene. He MUST comply. The minute he started asking for the evidence of speed and PD refused, it escalated. He DID NOT comply with giving DL and registration after numerous attempts. Driver has no legal rights other than to comply and take the hearing. Driver CAN be arrested and forcibly taken out of the car for this situation. PD was right here! He would have been removed forcibly if I was the officer on scene. PPL think they do not need to obey the law.

That guy is too angry for his own good. The second cop, Danny, was about to go check the radar gun (10:37) but the hothead wouldn't shut up. He whined so much that he forgot that Danny was about to help him.
