That old International would make great content! It needs a little work mechanically, but I think it’s worth the risk since the body is in such great shape!
I have bought trucks for 50 yrs, and i advize u to purchase the I H, You cannot have a vehicle rescue without it, get it home , get it running, and put a little holmes wrecker on the back and walla your towing your wrecks and rebuildables, you wont be sorry, and you will have FUN!
It would be really cool to find a bed for the international harvester, refresh the mechanicals and use it for the shop truck at your new dealership!! Make old school style Auto Auction R Rebuilds decals for the doors.
Kenneth Moore The 345 V8 is the motor that was manufactured with. They had a 392 V8 but they put them in the bigger trucks. The school I worked had had a 67 carryall that had the 345 and a 30 passenger bus had the 392. Both were good engines.
The 2012 Challenger RT HEMI is too good a deal to miss. Mike (Weird Beard) could line up the crashbar mountings in a couple of hours, and it would need substantial paintwork, but this is a great car and will resell at a good price as Spring arrives. Great RU-vid content too! The Lexus 'Critter Car' looks like a worthwhile curio if you can pick it up for scrap value ($250?) although finding good interior parts for this oldie wouldn't be easy.
@@MRZ1234ify actually, I believe they are still cooperating. Both Randy and Mike have alluded to this on their respective RU-vid channels recently. I believe that some changes were made necessary owing to legal issues raised by the State of Oklahoma, but these have now been resolved.
Randy the TL most likely has a rusty pulley bearing from being in water and the misfire is mostly likely a corroded spark plug and coil from having water in it. I had the same problem with an expedition got dirt cheap replaced a plug and coil and it ran perfect
I owned a 72 IH Scout II probably with that same V8. Back in those days IH would promote the fact that their engines were built to be re-built over and over again. Sleeves in the cylinders, press out and in valve guides and seats. And on and on. I have no idea if you can still get any of those parts from IH.
Sure you can. AutoZone can order them. I had a '64IH bread truck with a six in it. The mechanic parts were available for all those old motors. But, some body /much was hard to find. (I had to settle for a used steering gearbox because nobody I could find still had or made those old "rag bag" types.) The side windows, being flat glass, are no problem. The body looks to be in good shape, with minimal damage or rust. (Check the frame for rust through areas, though Weird Beard can likely patch anything that needs it.) That rig is over a half century old, and they are becoming scarce. I say buy it while you can.
@@johnlameelk5339 That was a great V8. It was an IH design connected to a Chrysler Torqueflight transmission. I replaced the mechnical points distributor with an electronic ignition and that made it gold.
Oh man Randy get yourself that IH ! They were sweet hardcore trucks ! I almost bought a scout back in the early 90's kick myself every time i think about it.
I actually love the shorter vids. It's real. Copart has been kinda dry and that's what happens. You don't make huge finds constantly. Preciate you keeping it real.
My F450 bucket truck has a 6.8 Triton V10. 4mpg. Already had the engine replaced under warranty at 45,000 - something about a defect that became apparent after long idle times (which is common for a telco bucket truck). It runs like a scalded dog when you stomp on it.
Hey randy go for the international it's cool and could be a neat build I like that you included it in the video cant wait to see what you bring home next great video and get well soon
That sounds on the Acura was the A/C Compressor. The bearings in the pulley is grinding, and will eventually seize and pop the belts... Trust me, that’s the exact sound I heard on my Camry before mine seized.
I LOVE that international, my family had an orchard growing up and we had a flatbread international just like that for the crates. I’ve always wanted to restore one to replicate it
4:39 old jeepers creepers truck from Missouri would be a nice truck to have, pullin trailers, easy towing my boat 26-30ft to the lake just needs a lil love hope it survives like it deserves
'04-'08 Acura TL were the last good TLs If you get it, change the coil packs. It also looks like something is missing on the front of the engine. Might just be a missing plastic cover.
The international would be a fun toy to play with. Worst case you can sell it to another collector. I would pick up the challenger it would make great content fixing. You can always park it on the back burner for when you find time. Durring that you can hunt down the pieces needed. On the Ram, the overly clean engine means it was power washed and detailed for a sale. Prob blew off plug wires. Lexis looked like it was used as a dog house. lexis is in dire need of oil.
I drive a 72 IH Travelall 4x4 with a 392. the engine in that truck is in the same engine family. probably a 304 or 345. Very well built engines and they use 2 heavy steel timing gears instead of a chain.
If you desperately want the International, it might make a good mascot for your caryard, an interesting attractant for potential customers. Especially with signwriting on the doors & the tray repaired better.
Get the IH truck. Shouldn't be bad to make a runner. You should have taken off one of the valve covers to see how clean/rusty it is underneath. The long stud on the air cleaner means it probably had a huge oil bath air cleaner.
I bought my 98 Dodge Ram for 300 bucks. I have put maybe 2000 in that last two years but she’s running good. That’s a heck of a truck for the money. 5 speed too I wish it was 4x4 though. Ps Randy I appreciate your dedication I know u don’t feel well but u get out and do this anyway. It’s awesome to c how far your channel has grown I think I subscribed around 20k maybe less idk.
*The Noise on that acura sounds like a heat shield that's pushed up into one of the pulleys and it's rubbing on it . the misfire is probably simply a bad coil. the fact that the car has 200K on it means you would have to get it for around $800.00 to make any money on it at all. That challenger if it went for the right price would be perfect to repair same with that 2011 dodge truck it's worth what they are asking IF you can kill the smell trade in is around $7,000.00 for the shape it's in and for the mileage still so there was a little meat left on the bone there once you run your ozone machine through it. If you passed that up you lost out. they are great trucks and they pull really well too that thing except for the high mileage is just like the 2019 i had 4x4 and all. of course again you put tires on it and straightened the dents and scrapes out on it you would have in it what the value of the truck actually is trade in value any way. that's what i go by because to me the vehicle is only worth what a dealer would give you for it if you were trading it in*
If I could afford it, you and I would be in a bidding war over that International pickup truck. I might have also been a player on that Challenger too.
Man I used to have a 64 international harvester C1100 with an amc 305 with a 4 on the floor. Step side, regular cap in white. Miss that truck. It wasn’t fast, but had Butt loads of low end torque. It needed a steering box unfortunately, it was impossible to find parts for it, ended up selling it to my mechanic. Sold it for what I bought it for, so basically had a free truck for a couple years.
The IH is a diamond in the rough, you'll not likely see one of these again. If you get it cheap you could bail at a profit should it be too much work for you presently.
Randy, some Rams (maybe this year is one of them) had a problem where one of the cam lobes gets ground to the point where it no longer opens the valves. I'm no expert but it's something to watch out for when you start hearing these misfires in these Hemis.
That Acura sound like the idler pulley bearing is shot I have heard that sound many times before it could be water pump too but I'm leaning more at the pully
I love those international trucks but it's hard to find suspension parts for them. As a matter of fact the last time I checked you couldn't even find an oil pump for an international v8.
Hey randy, Big fan, love to watch your videos All the way from Denmark 🇩🇰 hope you have a safe trip home from Florida With your new car. but please stop With that self pity ! you are not the only one who has to go work sick.
