That old ‘66 Ford Pickup... back when you could literally climb in the engine bay to work on it! 👍👍Available engines for that truck were... Inline 6’s: 3.7L 223, 3.9L 240, & 4.9L 300... V8’s: 4.7L 289, 4.8L 292, & 5.8L 352. P.S. A lot of guys put on “hood stiffeners” to prevent bending the hood on all makes of those old trucks (either DIY or aftermarket)

Ok Randy, I own a C6 Grand Sport, a Porsche 911 C4, and a Mercedes Smart car Brabus edition. I love the little guy, and it's a blast to drive. (5 star safety rating) If you want to get into the rear hatch you have to raise the glass first ( that noise was the glass unlocking) raise the glass then reach in and push the rear door unlock switch. Next time you put 50 bucks worth of gas into your truck think 4 gals per week for a Smart. Still love your channel.

also to answer for the Hummer straight 5, GM originally developed the Atlas series for the Trailblazer, but due to it's length it didn't really fit when GM made the 1st gen Colorado/canyon, so they were reduced down to I4 and I5 versions as well. the H3 sat on the same (maybe modified?) frame as the Colorado, so it was easiest to just reuse the straight 5 (and of which 2 versions were made, a 3.5L and a 3.7L) EDIT: and yes, the 4200 (I6) was exclusive to the GMT360 (trailblazer/envoy/etc) platform, all other uses of the Atlas series were wither the I4 or I5

That truck never came with a 289,that was a car motor. That is most likely a 352 FE-Series V8. Could also be a 360,390,etc

*It's the same straight 5 that comes in the Colorado but there is also an H3 that comes with the LS 5.3L motor and 4L60E trans also. wouldn't mind so much having that one but it's part of their ulitimate, premium or whatever it's called package so limited production, limited availability. if it weren't for that and a limited supply this would be awesome!

Fun facts: The H3 and Colorado/Canyon share the Vortec I5, and I believe the H3 Chassis is based off of the Colorado also. The reason the Vortec 3500 looks just like the Vortec 4200 from the trailblazer is because essentially it is the 4200, just with one less cylinder. The 2800 I4, 3500 I5, and 4200 I6 are the GM Atlas series of in line engines. They share a common platform the only major difference between the three to my knowledge is the # of cylinders. I used to own a 2005 Colorado with the I5, when new it had pretty decent power and fuel economy, but they can be a nightmare when they age and need repairs, better to avoid the 2800 4 and the 3500 5, and go for the later versions, the 2900 4 and the 3700 5.

Man seeing that ole 66 brings back memories. I had a 65 candy apple red and white 390 4spd that truck got me in so much trouble. I believe that one has 352 I notice the hood has v8 emblem which 352 was only option for v8 in 65 and 66 year model. Also seeing that shifter probably was 3 on the tree at one time and someone changed it to the floor

It's a FE-series big-block (the valve covers are a dead giveaway); the '66 F-series trucks were available with the 352 FE as an option.

That lifted Harley if the frame was not bent would make a good body swap for a 1960/70 F100 all the joys of the newish truck with the looks of an old one.

with the 66 F100, came with 240 or 300 in-line 6 cylinder. there was also an option for a 360 or 390 V8 engines. I also see 352 as well so yeah you have options hahah

My grandmother has a blue 2008 smart car with the silver thing like the white one. It’s ok, but stuff breaks all the time. I always loved it when I was a kid and it’s still a nice to drive car. My grandpa bought it for her just cause she liked it. He passed away about a month ago, and she can’t even figure out how to get the trunk open lol

Depending on the price, the F150 is a buy just to strip & resell the parts. You have a complete interior in great shape (except for driver's air bag), you have all the doors, you have a good truck bed. All of which can be sold for decent money. Engine may or may not be okay, but the transmission might be.

Check out that white ford sport trac that was right in front of the red f150 you showed us. They are awesome trucks if you can find one. Been driving mine for a long time with no problems outside of basic matinence!

Car rental company I worked for 10 years ago thought it'd be cool to add a Smart car to the fleet. What a tin can that thing was. Noisy, gutless, you needed a half mile to pass one car on the highway. And cold weather? Forget it, it had to be kept inside one of the heated wash bays every night if the temp was below 15 F or so, which is most winter nights up here in Canada, or it'd be flatlined next morning if left outside. God I hated getting stuck driving that thing.

When you do that line on the Corvette, be prepared, about half the time with those parts store green pre-flared lines I find after the thing is bled out, I go out and do one hard stop and I have to go back and crank the nuts on them a little tighter. The force of the brake pressure compresses the flare a tad more usually at one fitting and they leak. You may be okay, I've had that happen mainly where I needed a union to join two of them together. I see a dark blue 1990s Chevy or GMC pickup in next to that wrecked Hyundai that might be interesting to show us when it's up for auction. The '66 Ford is not a high dollar truck but someone's given it some goodies and it probably wouldn't be a bad project if your partner wanted to paint it. Alternately, the rearend in it is desirable in hot rod circles. I'm not up on Ford engines but it could easily have a later engine and trans swapped into it.

How about the sport trac Adrelilin in front of the hit high F150. 352 in the 66 Ford.

The 3.5 is part of the "Atlas" family that includes the Trailblazer/Envoy inline six. GM knocked off a cylinder to allow the engine to fit in the first-gen Colorado/Canyon.
