I also experience pain from knitting, what helps me is stretching my wrists before and during knitting, taking lots of breaks, and occasionally icing them too.
I love yarn shopping when travelling! What I create will remind me forever of the trip the yarn was purchased on. Best souvenir ever 😊 Veeery excited for part 2, I have a feeling about your announcement and your new line of knitting projects 🎉❤
Congratulations on your anniversary and thank you for sharing your visit to Copenhagen. You are so positive and enthusiastic, it is very uplifting. Looking forward to part 2. 😊
I love the fun sparkly energy of your videos. This one made me remember the one time when they began banning knitting needles at US customs, they were going to make me surrender my knitting to get on the next flight, so I made the customs officers wait while I knitted the next row of my project onto a pencil! They were so shocked they didn't even say anything, and just stood there watching while I knit, then I handed them my needles. Ha!
❤lovely Yarn Vlog ! Anxious to see all your upcoming finished objects . How lucky to have fireworks from such a cozy spot. I love your energy and spirit ! Very refreshing 🧶😁💫
CONGRATULATIONS on your anniversary! I live in the US. The ONLY problem I've had flying with knitting needles was at the Athens airport. Once they called the supervisor over and he confirmed they were 'just knitting needles', I was allowed to take them on the plane.
So nice of them to put on a fireworks show for your anniversary! :) What a fun jaunt through these yarn shops as well. I just recently visited a yarn shop and saw the Knitting for Olive yarn in person for the first time. The dusty artichoke colour is sooooo nice! Feel in love with it, but I didn't have any plans in mind so left it. Maybe someday I'll get some of it, though! Love the Cinema sweater. So classic and comfy looking, and I'm super excited to have the tutorial for the cardigan. I loved it when you made it, and it's gotten me in the mood to try knitting a cardigan, which will be very new for me! I'm always very drawn to greens, too, so the new version of the cardigan is stunning! Oh, and definitely looking forward to the next video with the other shops and your big holiday project!
Love your videos, so inspiring. I showed my husband and said, “A girl after my own heart, she knits everywhere she goes, except for her anniversary dinner.” …lol… I knit almost everywhere I go and by showing your video to my husband, he can now realize there are a bunch of us who do this. He will be much more accommodating when I want to hit a yarn shop or knit while we are camping, or on other vacation. Thanks much!
These green shades are so gorgeous! Oh my god! Love them. I can highly recommend the Isager Silk Mohair, I find it is softer than Knitting for Olive although I am not sensitive to itchyness.
I appreciate your quest to find the least itchy yarns--it's the worst to wear a beautiful sweater that feels horrible. Such a fun vlog!! See ya in part 2.
Thanks for taking us on your trip to yarn shops. I saw you eyeing a baby sweater at the Knitting for Olive shop. I am a new grandma and would love to see a baby pattern or patterns from you!!
You and your husband are such a beautiful couple. .BTW I love Your yarn choice very dreamy colours and they all look so soft. Cant wait to see what you'll be making with all that. I am a crocheter but I do knit a bit too. I don't consider myself an advanced knitter but I can follow a pattern if it's not too complicated. Thanks for sharing your trip experience. Hugs and kisses from Malta.
All those yarn shops look lovely, really makes me want to go to Copenhagen. Also, that black and white dress you were wearing on the first day is gorgeous!
It was very nice of Tivoli to make the fireworks show for you! 🤭 They do that every Saturday! It was so fun to come home to find your podcast from Copenhagen - cause I had just visited both Bruun strik and Knitting for Olive this morning! I'm looking so much forward to seing your visit to Sommerfuglen! I wonder if they recognised you? When Joji Locatelli was there, they didn't recognised her! 🤷♀I'm happy you enjoyed your trip ❤
The timing of this video is perfect. My husband and I were just in Copenhagen, but unable to visit any yarn stores. After watching this video it feels like I never missed a thing and am right back in Denmark! Thanks for always sharing your infectious enthusiasm for knitting.
Hi Kika, It's so funny: those colors (rose, fennel) are not colors that suit me so I never buy them, but the way you show them, pairing a mohair and a merino, they look so beautiful!!! Also: my mother was Finnish & Estonian, so I love watching you (and hearing Juki speaking Finnish!). And your smile just makes me so happy. Lots of love from Boston.
I was in Copenhagen just three weeks ago! Unfortunately I only got to go to one yarn store because my husband and children are not so interested in knitting 😂. The store was Sommerfuglen. And as you say, I was really glad I had some pre-chosen knitting patterns on my phone so I wasn’t getting overwhelmed with all the yarn choices. It’s definitely on my list to return to Copenhagen sometime. I loved the city.
Happy Anniversary. It seems like it came around so fast. I loved your wedding video. Love all your videos actually. Thank you so much. Your creativity is very special.
Thank you enjoyed your podcast finding by chance! I can understand how excited you are about yarn! It was when you mentioned Knitting 🧶 for Olive I was excited as I found it on Facebook so it was good to see in store! I loved the first store it was amazing all the shades and type of yarn and sample knits were amazing ! Thank you so much ! Xx 😘
Such a fun and energetic vlog! I just love your energy and enthusiasm! At the end of the video when you are showing your yarns up close, what is that beautiful plant in the background!
I visited Copenhagen for business more than 10 years ago and loved it! Unfortunately, this was well before I was a knitter. Thanks so much for the inspiring footage. I plan to get back there soon.
Happy Anniversary to you both! It's amazing how fast time has gone by. I love your choice of colors, especially the Avocado and darker bluish color. Light colors don't suit me - I wish they did, they are really pretty. I came across Knitting for Olive yarns by surprise this past weekend. I was actually surprised by their Merino. To be honest, I did not find the lighter weigh Merino as soft as I thought it would be. The heavy merino was quite nice, but like you, I found each color varied in softness.
Happy anniversary! I live in south of Sweden so must jump on the train to Copenhagen after this :) . Give Juki a big hug for beeing sooooo patiient, ha ha, we could all need one of him. Love your inspiring videos.
Happy anniversary! Your husband did an awesome job as camera man. 👍🏻 I'm curious though, what was the occasion for fireworks? You were so blessed to have them at your window!
So funny, I guessed the colours you chose from knitting for Olive right in advance!🤣 They are my favourites ,too. I just can't make up my mind about the project yet.
Thank you for the wonderful travel vlog and the knitting stores and yarns are just fantastic. I need to book another trip to Copenhagen! Looking forward to Part 2.
I don’t know if anyone else mentioned this, but alpaca and yarn from all of the camelids is generally less prickly than wool or mohair, because the scales on the fibers are much less pronounced. Many people who cannot wear wool can wear alpaca and camel, even llama which is the coarsest one. I just found your channel through the New York Times and am looking forward to many more hours of watching!
So I was just checking out all the yarns from Knitting for Olive this morning, then I saw your video and thought it must be a sign that I need to get me some of their yarn. I feel like every single color they have is so beautiful, and it just seems like such a good yarn. I was surprised to see that they aren't using the proper lighting in their store, seems like a misstep and something that's easily fixed. I'm so excited to travel to Europe and hit up some of the famous yarn shops!
I’ve just discovered you, this is my first video and now I will go an watch some of your older videos. I live in Australia and just bought my first Knitting for Olive yarn, I got 6 skeins of the silk in the colour copper and really looking forward to making something beautiful.
Kika thank you so much for what you do! you inspired me to try knitting and now it's my favorite hobby. I am still a beginner/intermediate knitter but I will for sure buy your cinema sweater pattern and use the tutorials since they make knitting less intimidating for me. 🤍
Happy 1st anniversary 🎉🎉🎉❤...and thank you for sharing this wonderful yarn -trip to Copenhagen. Looking very much forward to part two and all of the future projects you will be knitting up with your lovely selection
How fun! Thank you for sharing your trip with us! I totally understand why you bought so much yarn at KFO. I would too. I love their colors! But yeah I can see from the video (and I'd noticed that in their photos that their light is oddly yellow and dim in that store...
Greetings from NYC!! I just came across your video for the first time and I'm so glad I watched it, thank you for the tour and the beautiful yarn stores! My daughter was in Finland almost 20 years ago and she absolutely loved it, I would love to visit there one day, thank you again and I'm definitely going to subscribe! 🤩🤗🗽💖🧶💐
Does anyone else have problems with the audio quality? Sometimes your voice is very loud and cracky 😢 I love your videos. No matter if you vlog or do a tutorial. They are always so uplifting and inspiring. I hope there is something you could do about the audio 🙈 best wishes to you 💚
I am currently knitting a Knitting for Olive pattern (Yoko top) and I have pre-ordered your book, which will come out in Germany this November, I think! So excited! I live in Hamburg and would love to travel to Copenhagen one day. Btw the black-and-white sweater/dress you wear in the beginning of the video (with the wavy pattern) is super beautiful! Have you knitted it yourself?
Your videos truly bring so much joy in this world of yarn and knitting! Your channel is the only one I have watched the videos multiple times. Also, knitting for olive has to sponsor a video!!! I have order many skeins because of your channel! Happy anniversary to your and Yuki!!
I love your videos and your patterns, they make me smile. And I love Copenhagen, too. My Husband and I have been there two weeks ago - also for our wedding anniversary! It was awesome, they city has so many positive vibes. Maybe we meet there someday - at Knitting for Olive or so 😂
I love yarn shops! Thank you for taking us to shops I will not get to visit because they are so very far away. These were lovely. I look forward to the next ones. Such beautiful yarn. And Happy Anniversary.
I love your passion for knitting. Such precious projects presented by a very likeable and natural person. Great job👍. But I’ve got one ( I think an important question). Did you ever think about where your wool yarn is coming from and how much pain is included ? I don’t want to stop you from knitting but the wool industry is so cruel and it is important to think and acting with responsibility while buying wool yarn. Thank you for your videos.
You are so sunny and cheerful, love watching your videos. Congratulations & Happy Anniversary! (BTW, loved the scene of you skipping in the hallway, on the way to the yarn stores.) ❤
oooh I loved this, really been thinking to plan a trip to Copenhagen now that I knit as I missed so many lovely yarn shops there! It's nice to see it from your perspective! And I love the styling of your arctic light sweater, really want to knit one in that lovely blue shade!
I cannot wait for the cardigan pattern and the tutorial , hopefully it will be not too complicated as I am a beginner. By the way I knitted the Lola top this summer ❤ love it so much Thanks so much for your amazing videos I always looking forward.
As someone else said, you purchased (muted) colors I would never -- probably because I'm not as young, beautiful and VIVA as you are! Congrats on your 1st anniversary. (BTW, I have a massive crush on your gorgeous husband who seems to be very happy with you.😉) Wishing you blessings, love and longevity in your marriage 🥂
Thanks for sharing. Definitely want to visit Copenhagen. It looks like a beautiful city. How sweet that they put on fireworks for you and Juki for your first anniversary. ;)
Wow they sure ou;led out all the stops for your anniversary! Personal fireworks display?😂😂❤ Happy anniversary. And wow that yarn buy! Like clouds of wonderfullness! 😊
Love your videos, this vlog might seem ordinary to many people but to me it felt very inspiring. I mean starting from the airport lounge atmosphere to Copenhagen streets, beautiful colours surrounding you in every scene. And there is no need to mention your aesthetic :) Aside from the content, visuals are so satisfying. And there is yarn shops.. Oh I wish I can have a trip to Denmark just like this! One can only dream.. Sending lots of love, thank you for your lovely videos 💝
Have you tried the brand Krea Deluxe yarn? I just finished a sweater in their yarn(i’m sensitive too😅) and I find it SO soft, you might like it too. Kaos yarns merino is also great, and Iove how both brands have a strong focus on sustainability👌🏻😊
I always love to watch your video, it’s soooo relaxing ☺️ On your quest to find the most non-itchy silk mohair/brushed alpaca you can definetely take into consideration Gabo Wool yarns - it’s a polish brand and they have absolutely gorgeous Eco Baby Brushed and Baby Silk Yak 🥰
I wish I ran into you there!! I was there last month and didn’t want to go home because I couldn’t get enough of yarn. I did the same thing at knitting for olive where I went in to the office instead of the store. 😅
Happy anniversary! I love watching you shop for yarn, I do not have the space to store much yarn at the same time so I am shopping vicariously through you ;)
