Hey loves! This week we're taking it a little easier and heading out on an overnight hike up the Copland Track, to Welcome Flat Hut, a unique backcountry hut on New Zealand's West Coast. Nestled in the mountains, its an incredible spot, and not only that it has natural hot pools- so slip on your walking boots, were going for a hike.

Ta for the video. The route over to Aoraki is easy mountaineering skills. We did it without crampons and ice axes, ropes etc. But we had them in case. It is a fantastic trip over the top to the village.

Looked great! I have seen so many sandflies in New Zealand videos but I actually didn’t know they bit people. Itchy? That seems like an amazing place… is it usually really busy? Did you have to book ahead?

They are a pest. Sandfly bites hurt way longer than normal bites of insects

Yeah😓 The sandflies suckkkk, there super common in most places in NZ too, such a pest, and so itchy! We try to carry bug spray everywhere, haha! But apart from them, it was such a beautiful place😍 I'm pretty sure it is normally quite busy, especially in peak summer, we just seemed to pick a good time to go, we did still have to book ahead online though
