I love how Dodge, Chevy, and Ford made drag variants of their old-school, new-gen cars. It shows that they have some acknowledgement of their heritage for going in a straight line, really fast
yeah all thanks to ford...they've been running the cj since 05...when did dodge or chevy have drag packs or copo's available? after 08-10? and they've been getting it done with smaller displacement engines.
Typical ford fan lol. Were have you been?? If you know the pony car history your comment would be irrelevant.. they been doing this since the late 60s my friend. 😊
Reading the comments, it seems a lot of people don't understand bracket racing. In bracket racing, you qualify a time for your car as does everyone else. The lights are set so that if you both run a perfect pass at your qualified time, you'd cross the line at the same time. If you break out of your time, you lose. That's why you'll see cars letting out on the big end. It's an awesome way to make wildly different builds compete and make it about driver instead of car. If you like drag racing, you should really try it.
Most of us do know this. What you aren't telling these people is it's about the cars consistency of performance. The Copos going to qualify lower because it's performance isn't up to par with the Cobra Jet. lol God, be honest.
I will say this, it's a great way to get into this sort of thing because it is way better at telling you where you're at and get a better understanding for your build if you're building rather than buying power.
@@mewrongwayKOCXF wrong...check your information on that so called LS...it's nothing more than a "COPYCAT" Windsor sorry to hurt your feelings "FORD" been doing this
I love it when ppl argue over which is better! All the factory drag cars are bad ass! All of them capible of 8 sec passes, it shows who can tune a chassis and dial in the tune on the motor. Besides 99% of us couldnt afford a car of that caliber! Lol
@@RomaneMaticaliseGordon dude...you're dumb...the time is quicker RELATIVE to when he took off, but if you pay attention they finished at near the same time
@@RomaneMaticaliseGordon Everyone has to submit a qualified time. The lights are then staggered based on the qualified times so that if both drivers cut a .000 light and hit their qualified time, they'd cross the line at the exact same moment. Run faster than your qualified time and you lose. It's possible the cobra jet in that first race actually lost if he broke out. It's also why you see cars letting off before the line - they qualified a time that they can actually beat increasing their margin of error a bit but also requiring a slow-down on the big end to not break out. From the difference in speeds, it's obvious there are FSC cars (which are the only class Cobra Jets are built for btw) running against some N/A COPOs and Drag Paks.
I'm a Mopar guy but when it came down to the bitter Chevy vs Ford race I pick Ford because just about every Chevy fan I've ran into are stubborn jackasses
Obviously you not a true mopar guy that drag pack was modified for that class!! It runs way faster then that the reason why he don’t have wheelie bars is because he down tuned it because we’re there all go they pop wheelies just like the old 68 hurst hemi darts
@Daniel Jones the main thing every Chevy guy argues me with is " well our parts are cheaper " and my answer is well no shit they are made cheap too lol
Well that is a misunderstanding the hemis have bigger valves and with age the get a little loose and make a tick but thats what ive been told and speaking of ticking look at the 5.3 Chevy also better than that Chevy knock
Hold TF up !!!! Did I just see the coop camaro pull off and got that ass halk down and lost✊🏿🤘🏿💯💪🏾💪🏾 oh that's why. Cobra 🐍 wins every time I must invest in me one of those Cobra 🐍... Ford is light weight and an winner every time.. shout out to them ford lovers... I just love speed and winning
Damn, I love Ford but didn’t know the Cobra Jet was THIS good of a competitor to the COPO and Drag Pak considering how close the specs are between the three. Good job Ford!

@@Vikturus2k6 Chevtard "mewrongway" claims that his 4.8 LS Chevturd Monza runs low 7's. 1/8 mile maybe but no way in hell on a 1/4 mile dragstrip. He also claims that modern day street legal cars can turn 9's. That's BS also. Only the Dodge Demon could do that and NHRA banned it because in stock form, it didn't meet the NHRA safety standards for a 9 second car. You race the fastest mustang against the least powerful version of the COPO Camaro and say look at how fast our mustangs are. Go to utube and watch the qualifying for the US Nationals FS/XX class, that’s the class that races the fastest fords , Chevy and Dodges. They have to follow the rules, no cheaters. The biggest problem these cars have is launching on those skinny tires. If nobody spins then the first cars on the trailer for the ride home is the mustangs. If you don’t believe me then go watch it. What’s your excuse then? Hollywood special effects.
Darrell H I’m not positive but aren’t these supposed to be all factory cars? I don’t know anything about Sonoma pickup trucks but I would guess it would take some major modifications to run with these cars or does GM build a Sonoma to run with these cars? Idk? Just asking...
Dont fear the Snake. Improving the performance of the Modular motor proved to be tricky. Tuning it for high power turned it into an unreliable and dirty engine that had to run on race gas, so they went back to the drawing board. The first redesign resulted in something that was almost entirely new. Koenigsegg started by reinforcing the block and implementing a new crankcase gas recirculation system, followed by all new pistons, connecting rods and camshafts. The lubrication system was converted to dry sump and the pistons got a new oil cooling system. The main features that remained from the Ford engine were the 90-degree angle and the bore spacing. Koenigsegg ended up making so many changes to the block over time that they had to abandon Ford's and start casting their own. They added things like stiffening ribs and chose Grainer & Worrall in the United Kingdom to make the new block out of aluminum. The engineering firm has extensive experience in everything from F1 engine castings to CGI blocks like Ford's EcoBoost V-6.

Very nice cars - but a missed opportunity. Sorry. Just focusing on the leading car is not all. Make videos where you can see how far the leading car is in front of the other. And please zoom OUT when the cars are fare away.
That's a pretty vague statement to make that Ford only runs in one class considering that they dominate a lot of the drag strip in multiple aspects of vehicles including the F-150 Super Snake 4 x 4 which produces 750 horsepower let's see Chevy or Dodge come up with something like that don't worry I'll wait. How many versions of Chevy and Dodge in terms of trucks have you seen beat up cars? That are production vehicles. Here is an example for you. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8c0W5PhuC8Q.html
@Russian Bot from Russia I can assure its not that. Honestly, what does Dodge have other than the Hellcat, Red eye, Scat pact, and now a dead Demon? Don't worry I'll wait. I can also assure you that's not an excuse for Ford. Their trucks and their cars are fast.
Actually that Copo is running the new 302.. GM will offer choice of 5.0L, 5.7L 6.2L or the 7.0L. Ford will only offer a 5.2L! We all know how this is going to go!
Bracket racing is only easy if you got a 13 second car and compete in the 13 second class 🤣 but if you have a 10 second car and compete in the 13 second class then that’s where I would fuck up
Yeah, something is very wrong with that. They look like really race cars and ran quickly, but those times are ridiculous slow. Where they seconds or milliseconds? lol. 🤣🤣🤣

It’s funny listening to the ford guy racing against the the much slower class COPO and a few scatpack dodges. If you want to see what REALLY HAPPENS then watch the factory backed FS/XX class. The COPO Camaro was unbeatable then the dodge showed up with the Demon based motor and they had everybody beat. All the cars were supposed to weigh the Same at 3550 lbs, no head starts. Suddenly the mighty cobra jets were nothing but cannon fodder for the Chevy but even more so against the Dodges. Ford cried to NHRA and they added several hundred more pounds of weight to the Dodges over the next several races to help the fords. Right at the Indy Nationals, the biggest race of the year, every Challenger was given 50 more pounds of lead to carry down the track and both the ford and the Chevy had 50lbs removed from their cars. Depending on what year cobra jet the car now weighed 3200-3400 pounds and the dodge was now close to 3800lbs. It didn’t work as there was an all Dodge final with cars running in the 7.90’s. The taking away weight from the Cobra Jet and to a much lesser degree for the COPO’s and adding to the Dodge has now made the mustangs almost impossible to beat seeing they are 700-800lbs less than the Challenger is something to hang your head in shame when you win a race when you’re getting close to a thousand pounds lighter. This was supposed to be a factory heads up class with everyone weighing the same amount.
That's what NHRA did to Glidden & all the other small block Fords back in the day! Glidden win & they'd add more weight. He'd go back to work & find more hp & still win! Hence the nickname "Mad Dog"!!! Fast Fords Forever! Been a fan for 50+ years & counting!❤🇺🇸
@@ragedlore2735 no it wouldn’t. Lol go watch demonology he has a fully modified demon which don’t get me wrong is dope asf but he got dusted 2 out of 3 times up against a cobra jet. The cobra jet has 1,400 hp straight out the factory weighing only 2,000 some odd pounds. Modded or not it’ll still lose. Even the dude that owned the demon was thinking of switching to Ford for the cobra jet js
It looked like the cobra jet could have stomped them all badly but they had several bad starts. It's like once they get about 10 yards they do take off like damn jets
