Pass a law that all junk yards needs to keep copies of idd of those who sell copper. Do that for catalytic converters and copper thieves and you'll catch your thieves.

From what I've heard the cable costs around $2000, and there's only about $15 of salvageable copper in those cables. Great job copper thieves, keep up the Outstanding work 🖕🖕

Needs to be a redesign of these charging stations. Create a cable vault or cable system that’s on a rolling retractable spindle that locks the charging handle in place.

I saw a story about it being somewhat successful when implemented. I forget if it was in Cali or Las Vegas but they required proof via paperwork of a lawful demolition or removal for larger loads of scrap.

Use aluminum - it conducts electricity very well and isn't worth much.

So maybe, just maybe they should have designed the cable to retract into the machine. You put in your credit card, it unlocks the cable, you charge, the machine stores the cable.

retractable wiring does exist!! I'd wager that if the only thing you could touch was JUST the charge handle until you have entered your payment information, that would stop this.
