In Scotland there is always a survey before mortgage or sale and the surveyor will bring up any problems and bring it up and the solicitors will make you aware of it

@@lifetimedreamvideos985 I think, even with cash payment, the Land Registry here has to be pdated, which means a survey done to ensure that nothing on the boundaries has changed; always a drama when one buys from more than one designated seller, too.

I’m blind in one eye & 75% in the other so I dictate a lot & occasionally incorrect words slip by that I may miss upon closer examination!) I can’t stand misspelled words almost as much as I can’t stand bad neighbors, but at least we can delete the misspelled ones! Not so easy with the deplorable neighbors! I appreciate the “Welcome!” & look forward to binging all the past episodes & keeping up with the current issues. Is there not a way that you could in fact charge rent to the woman whose home was built on your property? At least since YOU’VE owned it? I say this because they KNEW when the built it that it was illegally placed. 40 years! Incomprehensible! And although you couldn’t legally change for the duration that it’s been there, it does seem that the rules of discovery would not apply here because they refuse to abide by the law anyway. I just don’t think you would have to give them any notice of charging rent, because they know they would have to pay anywhere else that they would live if they did not own the land. And they knew where those land markers were the whole time. I saw another comment where the lady said moving those markers was extremely illegal and it’s true here in Virginia as well. You cannot touch the markers once they’ve been placed. If you even accidentally knock over a pin, you still have to wait for the surveyor to come back out and place the pin back where it belongs on the property. The fines are extremely expensive when you tamper with those property markers. I’ve been impressed by every step that you all have followed legally. You’ve dotted every “I” & crossed every “T”. Also by posting your videos to Facebook & other social media platforms (especially RU-vid!) I feel as if it helps to back up everything you’ve said & done. You can’t get more verified proof than this! I just hope these people don’t try to do anything stupid. You have quite a task ahead of you but I detect a stubbornness beyond the maddest Bull 🐂 you can conjure up & a determination to prevail & go the distance no matter how scrappy the fight gets or the danger! I worry though for your safety, but thankfully you have so many witnesses who can attest everything you’ve been through! And finally your sense of humor is an inner strength that masks any fears or self doubts you may have regarding these “meth-heads of madness” & their unpredictability. You’ve seen clearly how they live, (nasty & lazy) & how they’ve infringed upon everyone else for up to 40 years! Littering their land with cars, feeders & garbage with no respect for others. 🏚 I’m certain (as I think you are too!) that they have less regard for human life, especially when challenged. 🔫🏹🛡 If you do decide to sue for rent it would help defray the costs of all the surveying & fence building & cleanup. @chemical like. Excellent advice abt tree knowledge!---in many places fences also can be a joint issue depending---it's good to talk to very experienced people at the city township, etc departments. I drove from MI to FL to rent a 1 room place....the lady wanted me to leave even tho she said I had done nothing wrong at end of my 4 wk lease. She knew I had very few options on disability income to consider. Just had to be there to see her attitude. She was in real estate. But she had assumed the property the separate room I was renting she had bought were grandfathered & there were 4-6 of them. When I called the city on her non-conforming property--the woman from city said b4 she came in my room she saw abt 5 violations....& she was charging a ton for them. That assumption and her unkindness probably cost her 60-80k in immediate shut down of 4 units and tons of plumbing etc to bring them up to code or at least the loss of $2,400 a month (10 yrs ago). She was an agent herself but she didn't verify the grandfather clause. I never meant it to be that expensive, but after that it was out of my hands. Lesson, ounce of prevention and kindness-prevents gigantic bill in the rear.

My mother said people out in the country, Kentucky, would hide money in mason jars, coffee cans and bury it on their property for safety. Of course for some who were running moonshine, couldn’t just take money to the bank and deposit it or questions would be asked eventually.
