If I was a town manager I would remember if I made a statement about activity of a hate group in my town. That’s not an every day occurrence. He’s lying. Even if his memory isn’t great, why wouldn’t he WANT to remember? He seemed indifferent to the inquiry itself. That’s called lying…omission or commission, doesn’t matter, just lying.

The least he could have done was admit that the statement was incorrect and it was just a random or rogue event and they made the story of it being a "listed hate group" to give the impression that the town had it all under control, if that's what they did. It sounded like it.
