Thanks for clearing up so many myths. It makes it easier to read the bible. Now I see/understand things so much clearer. Thanks for all your work. Happy new year
Good work. I’m Muslim BTW. This whole confusion can be solved by treating Jesus as he was: a human being. God is one not three. Those so called church fathers put the future generations into limbo which is claiming God is one but deposit that there three persons who each is a god. Go figure.
The Titanic went down because a lot of things went wrong - it had been traded for another ship with a big defect, the telegraph guy was nasty to another ship so they didn't answer his message, people in charge assumed the wrong thing. Some think there was a conspiracy to get rid of a lot of bankers and important people who were on the ship. It's like we are arranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Hooray for your life boat.
The Greek musterion is the same word used elsewhere to describe the Gospel, Eph. 3. So better to translate as "secret," i.e., something that can be revealed and known.
Interesting discussion. An underlying problem, at least with request to Jesus and the "hypostatic union," is that we don't really know what a nature is. This is another of those mystery terms where we "know" exactly what it means... until we have to define it. How we define it will move the discussion in one way or another. Is nature some actual thing that dictates being, or is it the name we use to refer to a set of qualities that a thing has? Regarding "true" contradictions: I've heard plenty of people (philosophers) say that this is possible, but I've never seen any such things actually demonstrated. I see no reason to accept this hypothesis, and endless examples that affirm its falsehood.
😊greetings to precious brother Steven. . I just came across proverbs chapter 8 and when I read it like as if the preexistant Son is talking and when I read Hebrews chapter 1 I am seeing that Jesus was begotten or proceeded forth before creation. John also says that the Holy Spirit proceeded forth when I don’t know. I believe that the ancient of days is the Father and He is The God. There’s a verse that says “ a body hast Thou prepared me” I believe that’s Jesus saying to the Father prior to being squeezed into a baby’s body. Is the Holy Spirit the Spirit of Jesus which is called the Word in John 1? Or is there the Ancient of Days, the Word(Jesus) plus another Spirit called the Holy Spirit and then what about the human Jesus?
@markpark4028 It would not be quite accurate to say that the holy spirit is God’s power. This is because power can be latent, or inactively resident, in someone or something, such as power stored in a charged but unused battery. The Scriptures, however, present God’s spirit in the context of being in motion, somewhat like the electric current that flows from a battery in use. (Genesis 1:2) So God’s holy spirit is his projected energy, his active force and influence.
