I am having trouble getting back to Coral Island. After the 1.1 update, I may be obsessed with it again, but I am not enjoying it as much as I was a year ago. But new content looks good. I am super excited about it. And I just remembered, what about the cellar? Now we know about plant pouches, we still can't use the cellar, right? Oh! I love the new show, thanks for the great video.

Might be alone in this thought, but with all this great new content like underwater farming plus bigger content still to come, I really need the developers to let me slow down the in-game speed some more so I can complete everything needed in a days' time. Some days I already can't, so I'm a little worried this will become more common as the game expands.

Plant Nerd here!! The “plant pouch” is called a pitcher plant, or nepenthes (nah-pan-these) and is a carnivorous plant like the Venus fly trap. Excited for the update!! I’ll just wait for the full update.

I just hit platinum about an hour ago for Coral Island (PS5). So happy. I'm around 887 hours into the game. Still loving it.

Thanks for a great video. I finally played Coral Island again yesterday. I got the auto petter but now need to get the auto collector. I am town rank B so working on it. I only mastered Farming and Mining so far and started concentrating on the others. Also working on completing the temple offerings. I might do the Beta. But after I get my town ready. Hugs

I always wondered if those interesting looking plants found on your farm were going to be used for something and I am glad my intuition was right lol. But yeah the thing I am excited the most about is FINALLY having the Merfolk become romanceable. I am a diehard Theo fan, but I really want to give Semeru a chance because I love his personality too based on 1st impressions. We'll just have to wait and see though.

I was hoping for a Switch release seeing as the game only had 1 save file per game. I already play on my PS5 and I dont have a gaming PC. But heres hoping seeing as I was going to wait till closer to the years end [Oct/Nov] to purchase.

I can't help but wonder if, for the beta they'll just start you at an underwater farm? Instead of having you play the whole game though, you'll download data that would (basically) set you up from day one but underwater as opposed to on land. But I suppose all we can do for now is wait and see. Thanks for the video! I thought this was the update and not a beta so I'm glad for the clarification.

As far as what I’d want for additional content in the ocean, I want more storyline, more to accomplish as far something new as a goal, saving the princess from something - preferably something unexpected, she’s gone missing, there’s a prophecy that is bad - or maybe a delegation from another merfolk kingdom is coming now the area is healed?

Rarely comment but the Mermoo looks like its based off a manatee I'm from Florida and I can tell. I wonder if we plant a kelp-grass variety of feed for them -? Manatees noted as 'sea cows', can also give milk to their young so it's also notable thats why the Mermoo are the underwater creatures that are in the game that are notably cartoony but (still cute - cant wait to see baby Mermoo! Baby Manatee are the cutest!) can produce 'milk'. I don't know what we'd make from Mermoo milk but this is a video game. I'm sure the devs would be creative from this. Also PS: Just like with the Luwak I'm sure there's a reason for the Mermoo like the way it is, the Manatee gets hurt by boat, and when humans feed them food from scraps that they shouldn't and trash in the ocean (similar to how dolphins choke on trash). It's really quite sad so I hope there's a little conservation talk in how the Mermoo is protected as a gentle creature. Manatees really can't really protect themselves and are v cute. Smelly, but very cute.

Hi! I just found your page today and was wondering if now is an okay time to get into the game? I've been wanting it since November but had heard that it was unfinished in many regards, the biggest one for me being that supposedly the main story was incomplete? Is that still the case? Should I just keep waiting before getting into the game?

Yes the main story is still incomplete but my guess from the the looks of the roadmap is the 1.1 update should complete the storyline but we won't know for sure before we've played the beta. So you could wait for the 1.1 update to be out or start playing now because the storyline they still need to add is mid to late game content anyway and it takes hours of playing to get to that point. So yes I think it is okay to start playing now.

None of the farming sims are quite what I'm looking for but this one seems like the one I'll like the most. I'll never get over Harvest Moon 64, however.

@@felixfairthorn I have never played Harvest Moon. But it reminds me a lot of Stardew Valley especially with how the game introduces a lot of the elements of gameplay. So the first week felt a lot like Stardew Valley but it became more it's own game after that.

I started playing this last week on my Xbox 1S (I don't have a desk/laptop or a steam deck) and I love the game. I came to speak to the town folk and fell in love with Pablo after he said I was cute. We are now married, lol. And now the problem. After the wedding the game keeps crashing like crazy. I hope that what ever and when ever the update comes that the glitching stops. I wanna spend more time with my lover Pablo. If it does come to the switch or what ever comes after I might date Pablo's brother. He's such a cute introvert. 😊

DX i read over the fact that the 1.1 update will launch in BETA form the 20th of may.... I was so excited and ready for it! But when i heard Sarah say Beta i was shocked and i checked the stairway site again and it said BETA .... I am so disappointed and sad right now :( Also who else is having problems with completing their fossil / fish / insects list and so on? I can't seem to get that stupid Vinyl record!

You might have luck with the black market, some people also like to stock up on coffers etc, go to the blacksmith first thing in the morning (without doing anything else) and if you don't get what you need from the coffers you quit and restart the day, having the chance to try again and again until you get the missing artifact.

How are these characters running? I’m only able to “burst” speed. It’s very annoying. Also, I still can’t talk to sea life or some land animals still. Injustice get a bubble that I can’t understand them. Has that been fixed?

You need to join the stairway discord and they will put a code on there with instructions. You put the code in the steam beta section. Can only be played on steam.

Apparently from twitter stairway games stated that you won’t need a code and will be able to access it through your save file like a regular update

I'd rather they put more in what's already there than keep adding new content. The romance event didn't make me fall in love with the character tbh. The game is massive and enjoyable, i feel addicted but not attached.

Unf Slamet is 👌👌👌 But I have to stay loyal to my man Semeru 🦈 Also Sarah, you pronounce Slamet as something like "Sla-Mut" not "Sluh-Met", (you can google the precise pronounciation on YT). Your pronounciation reminds me of a "Lemet" a type of traditional sweet casava sticky cake hehe. The other 3 merfolks name were pronounced beautifully 👌

They don't give release dates for updates until really close to when it's coming out. But guessing late June or early July.

While I really loved this game, it keeps on crashing so I just can't make myself play it anymore 😢But this update is making it even harder not to play, but I just don't have the patience anymore
