Not sure which power tool to buy between one with a cord or without? In this video, Dave and Andrew compare the two so you can choose the right one for you. Shop your jigsaw here: bit.ly/2ZF5DHl
*I've had some time🌗 **allabout.wiki/DJV181Z** to get used to using the saw now and I think its a good one. It feels very solid and well made - great Bosch quality. I like the settings it has for the eliptical blade movement and blowing dust out of the blade path. The quick blade change lever is easy to use but wont be accidentally bumped. I feel that this is a tool that will last me many years. I was considering the next model up to get the additional blade stabilization, but I think most of the blade flex happens below the foot of the saw anyway were there cant be any support. I think usage technique can make up for most blade flex and you also have to realize that this is a fact of life with a jigsaw and use it accordingly.*
I have the 4329 and the djv180 and the cordless is a far superior machine, there is literally no vibration and it cuts far quicker and just as clean also the blower on mine works fine. The variable speed trigger on the cordless is a lot better at controlling the cut than the wheel on all the others
Deciding which jigsaw to purchase and this helped a lot, thank you. As a diy'er another great benefit of cordless to me is that I don't have a large workshop for several electric tools so quickly popping a battery into the next tool is very convenient. Any thoughts on runtime between the brushed and brushless version? Thanks again!
I still prefer Corded Powertools, even though I own the most powerful Cordless Bosch Drill available. I just bought a Makita 4351 FCT. I'm wondering if that cordless model is a pricier unit to the corded units being tested? As expected, it is! Well, I wonder why it is much better!
If you're a younger person, consider a corded tool, as it will do the same job 20 years from now. Batteries are expensive, go bad, and are discontinued due to technological improvements. However, if you're a pro and use the tool most days in your trade, you'll be wearing out your tool typically at the same pace as technology changes and buying the latest tool every 3-4 years. However, go cordless if you work in areas where a cord isn't practical, or batteries are worth the convenience.
Video is great as usual good job guys however the comparison was totally off in my opinion .. A total apples with pears scenario...the makita corded 4350fct jigsaw would have been the appropriate choice I would think... This is totally my opinion and would have liked to have seen the 4350 which is a very powerful machine as the contender to the 18v...hope I am not stepping on toes here... Keep up the good work on great videos.
My grandpa’s power tools are still in the garage 20’years after he left. They are still working and I dont have to spend a cent. Buy a cordless tool and know you will spend money again for a new battery and its expensive!
You use the orbital setting on max during tight corner test and then complain about the tools not turning? Are you serious? The whole point of orbital is that it sacrifices smoothness and fine control of the cut so you can rip straight lines faster
I'm always laughing while everyone is sitting there waiting for their batteries to charge. While I keep working. Then I'm done well before anyone else. Both of those chorded ones could do more work than the battery one because eventually it loses power and dies. I know plenty of people that keep fully charged batteries on hand and if you do, you are in good shape. But I just prefer chorded. Constant, even power, and unstoppable, just can't get that with battery powered.
Corded tools are always better for home owner and diy works because they are cheap compared to there cordless counterparts and they get the job done. Period
