Season 5 was still great though, despite her only being in one episode. Though it made sense story-wise. Cordelia was the heart of the group. And since the themes of Season 5 were all about heartless corporations and whether the group could change the system or be changed by the system, it wouldn't make sense for Cordelia to be there. Not just because there wouldn't be a role for her to fill in the company (Lauren had already filled the celebrity and entertainment department she would have been good at, plus I'm pretty sure she had grown out of the assistant role that Harmony filled), but if she was, there wouldn't be as much internal conflict, because she always kept her friends centered.
Cordelia dismissing Fred in Spin the Bottle shows how much she has grown. She would've never been Fred's friend in high school. Love little things like this.
Her and Wesley have possibly the best dynamic character arcs in fiction. Even moreso than Willow, who's personal journey was filled with ups and downs (vice and corruption). Wes and Cordy only grew into better versions of themselves, only falling because of their old selves rather which forced them to change and be better people.
They did her dirty. Not only did they get rid of her,but they made her irredeemable. Gunn got treated pretty badly as well for no reason. Still for the most part a pretty good show.
Weden wasn't a very nice man, he was rude to her during her last stages of pregnancy and Gunn was black so yknow.... weden isn't good with black people and characters... It also has to do with the acting world as a hole being on a show as a woman basically means you can't start a family for a decade if the show does well and your character is already loved it's harder, but Weden was an ashole
I gotta say I give Cordelia credit, even in Buffy’s show she was never really fazed by the Vampires or demons more annoyed by them interfering in her social life but never really seemed all that scared.. much. She fought back when she had to, she never hid in fear. That would be my response actually I would freeze in fear.
YES! And without being a romantic interest - I prefer her and Angel as friends, before all the drama. Seriously, I want every writer to study her character before writing their own Heroine. Especially for Shonen animes (looking at you, Nami from One Piece and Sakura from Naruto)!!!
Basically, Joss was a horribly abusive POS, and when she has a kid, refused to talk to her about contract extensions, so she just got cut from the show
After Joss found out she was pregnant before filming season 4, he started being toxic towards her and they had to rewrite her character & the season to accomodate her pregnancy. Also, he made her work in the wee hours of the morning during her last bit of pregnancy. The guy's a douche, imo. Forgive me but I could tell from the first time I saw him in a BTVS interview. He gave me a bad vibe.
Women have it so hard in the industry. Think about it, shows try to go on for as long as they can. So their contacts basically also read "you can't start a family for at least a decade - the best years of your life belong to us".
When I started watching Buffy, Cordelia became the only reason why I watched Buffy. When she left, I left watching the show... In my opinion, Angel was better in Buffy, because he was very mysterious. Buffy and him, had a on and off romance.
Some of the best development of any of the characters in the show. Angel The Show made one of my least favorite Buffy characters into a very respectable choice for best Angel character. (Not my personal favorite, but very good)
Cordelia's character has totally grown when she was on Angel one time despite her sounding like a bubble head she has her way of being sarcastic. I love humor in a woman, that's why I like watching Angel I just didn't like how they got rid off her on season 4.
The show kinda went downhill when they assassinated her character in season 4. Season 5 was tremendous and they found a way to make up for most of their dumb decisions (notably by bringing back Spike) but the damages were already done.
I really like condy chase ❤ but I so confused it different 4 season and 5 season episodes 12 I am sad I miss Condy. I think I wish angel full season condy help team good heat I like couple angel and condy ❤ so why what matter with writers
So I have a question, why did they not get the water blessed every Tuesday by the priest. It seems like a great idea & it's not like Angel drank water therefore putting himself at risk
Spoilers!!!! Season 4!!!! People say they destroyed her character in season 4 by turning her evil…….. I don’t know what show they were watching, but in season 4: Cordelia was hardly in it for three episodes. Then she had amnesia for two episodes. Then she was seventeen for an episode. Then she was possessed by a Jasmin for eleven episodes. Then she was in a coma. We only saw the proper Cordelia from Angel season four in the first three episodes, and only briefly. Problem was the reveal of the possession in episode twelve was very late and very subtle. Some people didn’t get she was the beast’s master until episode thirteen, happened maybe too late. Nobody suspected that wasn’t Cordelia while she was doing things people hated. Jasmin killed Lila Jasmin killed manny Jasmin seduced Connor Jasmin stole the soul Jasmin set him free. You’re all blaming Cordelia for things she didn’t do. You’re attacking the shows writers. The fault is yours not their’s. You misunderstood it, then made judgments based on those misunderstandings, then you spread those judgments to other people. Cordy slept with Connor in episode seven. Her possession was revealed in episode twelve. Five weeks for fans to build up resentment over something that wasn’t even true.
No, the possession was revealed in Episode 17, before that we weren't sure why Cordelia is acting so evil. If anyone hates Cordelia for that crap, that person is an idiot for sure. But everyone hates the whole plotline in general because it was just a twisted development, and degrading to Cordelia and Charisma both.
@@fiction5559 the audience found out in 12, it’s the whole gang found out in 17. Or morons needed to wait til 17 to have it spelled out for them. You can’t degrade cordelia character when it’s NOT cordelia there. As for charisma it was her job to play the villain in season 4. You didn’t say David boreanaz or Alyson hannigan were degraded when they played the actual villains not possessed…..
@@jimmy2k4o We found out in 12 she is the bad guy behind it all. But we didn't know EXACTLY why. For all one knows, she could have been evil on her own. Because funnily enough, that was the original plot before they changed it. Tbh I'm not a fan of either plots. Guessing you don't know the behind the scenes drama that went on with Charisma and Joss, and how cruel he was to her because she got pregnant. He even made the whole plotline of a possessed Cordelia getting pregnant from Connor because he got petty over her real-life pregnancy. That's why I called it degrading, not because she played a villain, but because of what went on behind the scenes. Seriously, it was pretty obvious to me Joss had some vendetta even before Charisma came out with her Instagram post, that just confirmed it. The plotline was terribly done, and that's a fact.
